not submitting for compo

Really tired and have school tomorrow. I guess i’ll finish my game tomorrow and submitting into jam.

Too Late to start over?

So I was trying to get a car moving in scene kit using a SCNPhysicsVehicle and Scene Kit decided to complain and give me a weird bug.  Pretty sure it’s because blender is Z-Up and Scene kit is Y-Up.      I’m starting over. :)

Ejderhalar is posted!

In my “I’m in.” post, I said I was going to use Unity3D as always for this LD.

I diverged a little bit from my plan.

Ejderhalar is an abstract, zero luck, perfect information area control board game for 2 players. Each player controls 5 dragons which can stand up in one square or crawl all over three squares of the game board. It is critical to use your dragons’ bodies to push enemy pieces off critical regions of the board, only to capture these regions yourself and win the game.

I’m calling it a night. It’s been an amazing experience. This weekend marks my first ever board game design and I don’t think it’s really bad either. It’s at least fun for a couple (or five) games. :)

I’ll do a post-mortem later on. In the meantime, if you’re curious about Ejderhalar, click the link above and download the rules. You might like it if you’re up for a thinky game.

Finished!

This is the first Ludum Dare I’ve finished where I’m actually satisfied with the results 😀

I want to play this!

Headache

We have almost finished adding the basic mechanics.

So I guess… I’m in?

I’ve been holding off throwing my hat into the ring until I had something that might have some chance of being submitted…
Having spent most of yesterday lost in an ocean of half-ideas, I’ve been pushing forward with a shape-shifty endless runner. Nothing particularly original or clever, but I’ll be very happy to just get it in a playable state by the end of the jam.

I’ve been dabbling with game dev for a few months… This is my first LD, and in fact if I manage to submit an entry it’ll also be my first ever game!

I can’t seem to post images for some reason, so I can’t show how’s looking right now… but graphics aren’t my strongest suit, so… umm… ‘minimalist’. I guess.

Update: Aha, now I’ve made my first post, I can add an image… here ‘tiz.

Sandwich. Now has legs! :D

Still laughing…

I think I’m out.

I went to bed last night feeling a little tired. I usually pull through the last night of a jam but I felt sleepy so I tried to sleep for 4.5 hours. When I woke up my throat hurt and I realized I was sick. My family has been sick. I ended up sleeping more and now I still feel kinda crappy. I might put in some last details because I’m done with level design and I want some reviews for my game but I also kind of don’t want to put out a game in this state, even as a jam game. Maybe it’s developer pride? Anyways I might just fix the game up post-jam. It needs about a day of work to be done, so yeah. I think I’m out. Good luck everyone!

Poor You! Hope You Get Better Soon!

Just really started.

So, I finally got around to starting last night, I won’t finish in time for the compo of course, but I might try for the jam tomorrow. This is so far the coolest thing I have, it will make sense soon.

Giving up

I though about taking an extra Jam day to make more gameplay, but I changed my mind.

I ran into a lot of problems, and fixing them is beyond achievable in a day.

That means I’ll add some interface and submit my game for the compo, even though the gameplay is very limited.

See these colored repeating douches? I heard they are called tiles. I guess this is the only thing I knew about them, since coding them took me half a day. Well, now I know one more thing: I need to switch to some more tileset-friendly platform.

ApeShift coming along

This is our first game jam ever, it’s been a lot of fun and a lot of work, but we’re happy with where it is so far. Plugging in the art that’s coming in, and I’ve got a lot of coding left, but for the most part it works!

Thank you for existing Ludum Dare! This is funner than I thought it would be, just as I hoped!

Working on music now ;)

I’ve decided to go with paper themed art and boy does it look nice! Gonna work on music next and then might revisit some of the animations.

It’s time to sleep

It’s already 2:25 AM here, and I have to go to work today. Gee…. So I think I should end my game. Yass, see more about Beat Henshin on the submission page. I think I’ll start vote the others too starting tommorow afternoon (er… today afternoon, technically..).

And I have to sleep now.

Don’t forget to sleep too guys!

And here’s a picture of refrigerator-pizza, yep… just throwing stuff out of the fridge and make a pizza. Haven’t had a dinner. Supper is always goood…

I might actually make it!

As the end is nearing, I’ve began to reflect; I might actually make it!

Throughout this Ludum Dare, I’ve restarted 3-4 times already!!!!!! AND I’M GONNA MAKE IT!
