Making…
A mess, lol. Hungry hungry monster…

Gameplay so far
Here is a nice descriptor of everything I’ve done so far:

Now it just needs enemies and stuff!
If it’s rendering with antialiasing, here it is at the raw resolution:

I’m done early, with a tiny game.
I made a smaller game than usual because it was my first time in lua and kind of burned out. On the plus side I have a complete game in only 24 hours.
My game is a puzzle game where shapes move according to how many points they have, so check it out if you want.
Is the use of offensive language allowed?

Enemies + End of day 1
So far i have got shape shifting into a table-shelf-drawer thingy (whatever you want to call it)
it can move and do two different attacks.

And i started work on the hunter (totally not inspired by Ghostbusters)
He is fully animated and has working health, now i need to work on the AI and attacking aspect of him.
So i joined a bit late but imma (hopefully) wake up early and crack on the AI.
Comin along cutely!

We’re in, and it’s going to be AWESOME

First view of gameplay
Liquefy : 24 Hour Check-In
Whew! We’ve had an incredible 24 hours.

Aside from making headway on a lot of sprites, we’ve ironed out 95% of the main game mechanics, all planned levels are designed and built as a prototype, and we’ve added the super fantastic-amazing Erich Talaba to our team who is developing our music and sound.
Now for a 12 hour nap, I think.
We’re back at it 7am CDT tomorrow so we’re going to rest up while we can!
Thanks!

My game background looks weird :p

Day 1 progress
I do not really resonate with this theme, but I try to create a game anyways. Lacking any artists I decided to experiment with free unity assets (opt-out on graphics category, of course). Some of them are really good. The progress so far is a fully created level, basic enemies, combat system (damage/hp/regeneration/armor), spawning enemies with minimal AI.

Core Mechanics (Kinda)

There will be rotators and painters to shift your shape more then collecting items. In order to win you must exactly fit the ending area!
Im happy that I made this progress so far. Started late and spent some hours on watching grid editor tutorials. This my 4th Ludum btw. Which makes a year of Jamming. I feel proud ,hehe. Anyways, good luck with your projects!
“Finished!”
My goal for my first Ludum Dare was just to have a a finished game…and by that metric, the quaint little microshooter ShiftZGen is complete in just under 24 hours!

I’m happy I pushed through, it is indeed a huge challenge. I think my first Ludum Dare was a success! Of course, there are a million and one things I could and probably should add, but I think I am happy for now on this one–time to unwind and get ready to play some games…
Oh, there is only one boss in this game, and the game can be beaten in just a few minutes.
Now, on to play some of the amazing stuff I have seen other folks making…
Good luck, everyone!!

End of day 1
So I didn’t do much progress in the game itself because I didn’t have a lot of time to work because I have homework to do so I used this time to make the engine. I wasted a lot of time but I have a great idea and I have drawn some concept art but I’m not going to be showing any of it until I finish Ludum Dare. I hope I make more progress tomorrow.
Happy Ludum Daring!
End of day 1
I’m making a Hotline Miami inspired thing. Progress is not going great but should be faster tomorrow… Here’s a tiny bit of what I got done today!

Feel the funk
I’m off to sleep now, good night!!
