I’m in!

So this will be my second Ludum Dare. I’m stoked! I’ve been in a rut and hope this will help (I’m actually following a list I made to keep me motivated a while back: http://greatbigjerk.com/2015/02/21/staying-motivated-for-side-projects/).

Since there’s no scoring or anything, I’ll be doing the jam this time around. I’ll still be mostly following the rules of the compo, but having some extra time will be nice.

My game will be titled: “Get me out of here!”, and it will be a Vive VR room escape game. Instead of hugely involved set of puzzles to escape the room, I’m going to rely on physical interactions with the environment and the pressure of a time limit.

In this game you will wake up in a room with a voice blaring over a loudspeaker telling you that you must escape the room before a bomb goes off. From there you will have to take in your surroundings and formulate a plan to escape. There will be objects like boarded up windows and locked doors. You will then have to search the room for items that will help you. Maybe if you scrounge through boxes, you’ll find a key, or maybe you’ll find a pipe or other object to smash through the boards barring the window.

After you find your way out and escape, you will encounter a new room with a new challenge, and the game will continue until you fail.

So what does this have to do with the theme of ancient technology? Well, if you get through enough rooms, you might find out (assuming that I finish the last bit)!

I am in but this may be tough…

Hi all,

Since the last LD I have changed jobs and had a baby! This marks the first game jam I will be doing as a dad and I also have to take a large chunk of sunday out for a family gathering… so I have rather a lot to do, in a short amount of time so will try to keep my idea small… HAH!

I like the theme but predict a lot of Ico/Shadow of the colossus esque glowing stones and magical rune games 😉

UE4, Photoshop, bfxr.net, audacity, garage band, and Space Tea.

I will be tweeting from @xopsx and updating here when I can. My LD method has become every 30 mins, Save, tweet, and stretch.

Best of luck to everyone and make some amazing games.

We’re in

A bit of a toughy, but we’ve already got some good ideas going around.  We’ve been in a few Ludum Dares years ago, but it’s been a while since we’ve participated.  This time is definitely a go, and I can’t wait to get into the thick of it.

We’re using:

Eclipse (IDE)

Java (Language)

LibGDX (Cross Platform game engine)

GIMP (Graphics editing)

The Internet (probably gonna rip sounds and music and participate in the Jam as usual.  That’s still allowed in the Jam, right?)

Did you need music and sound? I’m available.

red hover squares

Not much but at least I’m going to bed with something interactive on the burner.

We’re In!

Teledoor24 and I are participating in Ludum Dare for our second time! While we’re very proud of last year’s submission, Susception, we plan to do even better by having a game with actual objectives this time! Heh. Heh heh heh.

Tools: Unity, Krita, Studio One 3

Best of luck to everyone!

It’s been a while

Its back! and its been a while since i’ve joined.

Ancient technology, eh?

I’m developing mostly using Unity, albeit a bit late as i have other events to attend to.

All the best you guys.

These are some of my previous games that i’ve made in previous ludum dares

Screw Phaser

I have to face the facts: there’s no way I’m learning a whole new engine in 72 hours. I need to come out of this with a game.

Unity, my long lost love, I return to you.

If you have no idea yet –

just make game about drilling. It looks amazing!

The experimenters restored the ancient Egyptian technology of drilling granite with copper pipe and corundum.

Hey, I’m in

I was unsure about entering this Ludum Dare, but I’ve introduced LD to another friend, and helping him inspired me enough to make my own entry. I’ve got an idea, and I’ve started on it. I’m actually using the HTML DOM to make it, something I haven’t really done before. I’m even considering using angular, but I’m not sure.

Good luck folks!

First Night of Ludum Dare!

Jump and Shoot man!

The game is a cave exploring game. Pretty simple, but I’m enjoying making it!

Firefly Effect, 2 hours in

It’s a tentative title, but my friend and I are making a VR atmospheric aesthetic experience. Not super interactive, but simply a game about observing fireflies.

My personal goals with this project are to really experiment with audio and visual flair. We don’t have to focus on game controls or complex behavioral scripts, so it gives us a lot of time to really tweak and perfect the feelings that are supposed to be evoked when you get the headset on.FireflyEffect prototyping

It’s rather hard to see against the white background, but once I am able to put on a headset for real, it should be easier to see everything.

Finalizing my idea! Time to paper prototype!

Hey there Jammers!

Just finished my idea and worked out a few elements. Time to paper prototype to see if its actually fun and usable!

its going to be a puzzle game that will be playable on mobile devices (I’ll up a pc version aswel).

The name of the game: Hunab Ku – the only god –

You can watch me stream at : https://www.twitch.tv/doctorgravy

have fun jamming!

End of First Day…

After almost 2 and a half hours, I’ve made a TON of progress! 😀

My game is going to be a bullet hell where you collect ancient artifacts that give you special powers.

I’ve already added the main movement, physics, dashing, sprite animation, and lots of other stuff(such as stamina)! I’m hoping that I’ll be able to add a ton of content to this game considering how fast it’s going. This is going so much better than the last LD(I was sick then.)!

Anyway, here is an image:

I’m going to bed now! Have fun making games! 😀

I’m in!

Libgdx/blender. Maybe even not blender, I might just use 1 pixel graphics.

First time, the beginning

It’s my first time doing a Ludum Dare and my second time participating in any 48 hour continuous contest.

I’ll be using Game Maker Studio despite not having touched it in such a ridiculously long time – hopefully I remember where things are, and enough carries over from GM6 (crossing my fingers that GML is the same), Photoshop to make images, and either pxtone or recording to make sounds.

I will stream at https://www.twitch.tv/kaynato

I wasn’t home at 9:00 but I think it gave me good time to brainstorm – I’ve got an idea that I love and I’m going to do my hardest to see it come to fruition.

Let’s get started!!
