That’s it for day 1

All the gameplay logic should be done now (The important ones before panic hits).

Now it’s time to get some sleep. If all goes well, tommorrow should be a breeze.

Good night everyone

so…

PICO-8_3

Considering Leblane is sick and I spent too much time talking to people today it’s not … it looks better than what it should to be honest.

We’ll see what tommorrow brings, the ‘ship’ data is correct (thus the 17 and 41 debug lines) but yes, there’s a lot more to do.

Halfway there?

So, we’re halfway through the 48 hours, and this is going to come down to the wire.

Traversal and environmental effects are in, I still have to restrict movement so players can’t sequence break the puzzles, but that shouldn’t be too hard (but it will be jenky as hell)

What’s next on the docket is item pickups and the inventory screen. I might make a rudimentary puzzle just to see if flags will work. I still have to actually make the puzzles, so I don’t think I’m getting much sleep tonight.

Here’s a quick video of what I has so far-

End of day 1

We’re making a sailing game, where you have to rescue people from islands!

Also, we now understand how to sail against the wind, yay!

Also, can someone recommend a good GIF recording software for Linux? Everything I tried is ugly :C

Day 1

A bit different than usual. I usually rough up some assets and get the gameplay all working on day one, but this time it’s barely interactive at all. And this is still WIP. Maybe I shouldn’t have played Overwatch for 2 hours?

Repost because my images didn’t work… They probably won’t this time either.

Edit: Nope! Ugh, it’s here: http://imgur.com/fwceNAJ

This time I will pass…

Hello, everyone.

Glad to know that Ludum Dare will still happen after all. Unfortunately, work comes first. So I won’t participate this time.

At least, a game idea appears in my head and seems simple to do, so maybe I will make it later.

Good luck and have fun LD-ing!!

Timelapse

This one image… takes me an hour…

HOUR WELL SPENT!!

End of Day 1

So off for sleep.
Progress seems to be going well, we can send an unlimited number of prisoners over the wall. We’ve a time limit added in so some form of gameplay is starting to take shape, instead of it just being a toy box. We seem to have a good direction. It slightly changed from before due to how it played when we got our prototype together. It’s more fun to catapult people longer distances. So now, instead of escaping a no-name prison, you’re trying to escape Alcatraz, by catapulting people across the water. And that also gave us our title: Escape Alcatraz.

Hoping to have the game “done” by the end of tomorrow. Then if we’ve time, we’ll polish on Monday.

Picking up speed!

Dialogue system’s presumably finished, graphics have been allotted to their various layers, and gameplay is (finally) ready for implementation.

Magical fluid hydraulics, here we come.

End of First Day :D

Successful Day 1

Successful Day 1

Finally time to sleep.

Have a working platformer, now it just needs stuff.

1st draft of “Ancient Tomb Explorer Bot”

So, the idea is a mix of puzzle and roll a ball. You are an archeologist who want to explore an ancient Egyptian tomb with a remote spherical robot. The successive rooms will be filled by traps and mechanism made of ancient technology.

First day was actually good!

After a lot of thinking i’ve managed to come up with a ‘good’ idea. Started with the programming, made the core mechanics and a very basic AI. After some refining, it started to feel like a game so I moved to the art part to rest a bit.

I’m going to sleep now, so there’s what I have for now, I’m sure I’ll see it tomorrow and cry, but for now, I’m satisfied.

If you ignore all the work to do, it’s starting to look great.

Infinite grinding part 1 almost done
