Web Build Added

Cover.png

Just uploaded a WebGL version of my game, Five Minute Fire Fight. It's UnityGL, so it's a little buggy (takes it a while after loading to get up to speed, but seems ok other than that). Anyway, if you haven't played yet, nows the time!

Finished! Quantum Catburetor is published!

We managed to finish our game, Quantum Catburetor. Check it out! It's now 4:25 AM here in Kuala Lumpur, which means it's bedtime. :sleepy: Will write a longer postmortem or something after I have regained my energy. Over and out!

Quantum Catburetor is a colorful and trippy bullet hell shmup with a procedurally generated world. https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/quantum-catburetor

All Done

screen1.png Just submitted my first game jam game. I was pretty much done in time for the compo but I broke the rules on using existing assets(Lunar Module model from NASA) so I spend today doing some textures and some better lighting.
It was a lot of fun! I usually have a tough time finishing projects, so the "pressure" of being in the competition really helped force myself to stay focused and actually finish something. Hopefully next time I'll have the entire weekend free and I'll be able to get something valid done for the compo.

Yeah, we finally did it.

Our Game is live.

This time totally in Time but our feelings and opinions are quite mixed.

Enjoy our game, and leave some comments for us to improve our next game.

Thanks in Advance

Abaddon

Abaddon02.jpg

Abaddon is the hebrew name for the angel of the abyss in the Bible (apocalypse 9:11). Today this is just my entry for the 38th LudumDare session. I did a paced FPS - a survival game in which you must fight against a horde of mischievous creatures in a little arena (50x50). This game is not suitable for noobs – skill is required :)

Post-release fixes

I am so thankful for the rule about bugfixes, thanks to it I was able to mend one slip which hid one sixth of my work from the rest of the world! First time jamming, had tons of fun!

Bad Ludum Dare Experiences

:skull:

This was meant to be my second LudumDare. This time i already felt that im not on the LD-Hype-train. So i started with a friend and we started getting some ideas while voice chatting. We got one great idea, but after a try came to the conclusion that the mecanics are to complicated for our skills with the Unity-Engine. Because this was our main idea it was hard to find a new idea. After a short break we just started with the next fun idea, but after some working-hours on this second idea it got clear, that it was not fun. The gameplay was not very nice and it over all was not fun for us. I mean a LudumDare is hard in some kind. But it is meant to be a great experience. At this point we decided together to stop working.

With a game that did not work yet.

It was a hard decision and i didn't felt great after it. I just wanted to share this experience. I'm sure this happens to some people as well but when you quit you won't come back to write a post right? :D

:nerd:

I hope you all had much fun and made it. My respect it can be hard! Greetings from Germany, somebody

Last few hours

Alright, haven't gotten around to posting any blogs so far, so will type one out now! This is my second Ludum Dare Jam, although I don't have my handy dandy special programmer this time around, so it's just been me! Since I'm more comfortable with painting, I'm going with making a visual novel with the theme. Got the game all set up and ready to play, just need to give it a new coat of paint and add on bells and whistles. Currently turning things like this roomwindow.jpg

into this! roomwindow.jpg

Will see how far I'll get!

Land Ahoy! released!

LandAhoy1.png

Well folks, that's it for me! The game is done and uploaded. Get it from here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/land-ahoy

This has been super fun and I am quite happy with the game even though I had to drop many features I wanted to include (such as pirates, sea monsters, multiple levels and sounds). Also, the game could have used some extra balancing/tweaking since the gameplay is a bit bouncy at times. Next time I'll try to bring someone to do the art so I can concentrate on programming/design. Should be good!

Big thanks to the LD people and all of the very friendly developers I have met here! See you next time!

The final stretch!

ld38-day3-compressed.gif

We're getting close! Lots of finishing touches and then a frantic set of play-throughs for tuning purposes. We're pretty happy with the level of polish that the team has pulled off, but there's always more to do. Sorry about the gif quality, we don't have a good setup for recording good gifs that aren't huge at the moment.

Small Atomic World War

This is my second Ludum Dare and also my second game ever. First time I make a 3D game, and first time I have to program a (very) basic IA. I learnt so much in that process that my brain might explode in the next few hours !

That was extremely painful AND fun at the same time ! But I'm quite proud of the result. It might run a little slow on low-end computers as I absolutely didn't have the time to profile and optimize my code. Also, the IA is basic and the game would probably be much funnier with a multiplayer mode.

I hope you enjoy it !

War is raging among the atoms.

They have discovered the means of producing gamma rays of such intensity that it can tear apart protons and neutrons from their nucleus. They are now able to transmute themselves into other atoms.

Each Proton collected allows your atom to level up.

Neutrons can be transformed into useful powerups :

Reach level 109 to become the biggest atom ever discovered.

But beware: bigger atoms lose particles far more easily and are much less maneuverable than smaller ones.

Small Atomic World War is a top-down shooter in which you play an atom trying to get bigger.

Controls: Mouse + WASD.

Opt-out : Audio & Music
