LD 38 April 21–24, 2017

I'm in

Late, but a good night of sleep is the best start ! I'll be using openfl and photoshop. Same base code than my previous game back in 2015 http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-33/?action=preview&uid=24933#hidepopup.

Good luck to everyone

Progress 1

We have come up with a unique concept and are working hard to make it work! Right now we have a basic platformer prototype and most of the protagonist's animations!

Humble beginnings

Would you look at that, it's a small world!

Need a recommendation: Any good gif screengrabbers?

I have been using ScreenToGif during my past two LDs but it’s causing crappy artifacts in the final gifs.

What tools do you guys use?

I'm in!

I've woken up, got a coffee and started brainstorming ideas. I've a few so far. Good luck everyone, hope you all have fun!

I love this!

So i recently woke up (different timezone :D) and saw the theme. I'm ok with it, since i already have an idea for it. Happy coding everyone!

I got an idea!

Or many ideas... No, actually, this time it seems I'm running with the first idea that started to flesh itself out after a small moment of ruminating the theme.

Keyword for my game is... TARDIGRADES!!! :boom:

You know, those microscopically tiny animals, hangin' out just about anywhere, survivin' just about anything!

:rocket:

Contrary to my usual workflow, I'm going to start by drawing the main game scene first. This is how I would LIKE to start my games, but somehow I always end up hacking the code until spaghetti manifests itself. Maybe this time I can stick to my plan and by the time I have workable art, I'll have a plan for the mechanism.

Technology-wise, I think I'll make it a browser game. It'll be fast to test and easy to deliver. Still not sure whether to use a custom framework with Pixi as the renderer, or try to save time with something like Phaser. Haven't used Phaser, so I'm worried it will actually take more time to learn the ropes. We'll see.

Other tools that I'm probably going to use: - Graphics: Affinity Photo/Designer, maybe Photoshop if needed - Sounds: my new (cheap!) headset microphone for mouth sounds, audacity or something for making those sound effects more effective. - "Music": I have a feeling it's going to be mouth-made as well. Apologies.

My idea isn’t that unique at all.

Welp, i just saw what everyone’s doing. And i’m not happy 😛

I’ll also do a ‘small planet’ interpretation of the theme.

My first LD!

First time around and I already overslept with some hours. Well, I probably work better well-rested and under stress, so it's ok. Wasn't ultra happy with the theme, but I came up with something, not sure what to call it yet, but it's about hiding big things choughgodzillachough in a small world.

Oh, and I'll be using GameMaker:Studio and Photoshop among other things :)

Made Some Fairly Decent Progress

http://prntscr.com/ezf1pd Basic concept: you do stuff on a planet then hop to the next one Still don't know what I'm gonna be doing in terms of content but I look forward to it

Making some progress on Leucos!

Here's what I've got so far! I'm curious to see how I'm gonna do the rest of it :S https://media.giphy.com/media/xUA7bj4jNkrGL19xzq/giphy.gif

I'm in

This time I will make it

Im in!

Hello LD I'm in!

3/4 Unity Tutorial done, I think I understand C#. Good enough! Time to Jam.

Phase One Completed!

It took us a bit longer than usual to think of an idea this time around but we finally did and we are excited to execute it. Work will have to wait until tomorrow however. This theme was tough. Good luck to all of the participants.

To those still plugging away, we nod to thee. To those done for the day, goodnight.

Let's do this!

Alright, I decided I'm in. I just got an awesome idea for a game and now I really want to make it: Let's do this!

Got a Great Idea

I'm really happy that I have a really nice idea as soon as i woke up. So I can definitely say I'm doing this

I'm IN

Let's try this..
