LD 38 April 21–24, 2017

First Post

It's been a while since I did a LD compo so I'm excited to be able to join this time. I'll try to develop a sandbox style world simulation game. The task is simple: create a sustainable world with the tools available. The trick is that you only have limited influence on how things evolve and behave.

I'll live stream the whole development from my home in Beijing. Feel free to drop by and say hi: https://www.twitch.tv/polyganz

It is time to wake up here in central Europe and get coding!

Small Worlds, Launch!

Time for Ludum Dare again! I'll be teaming up for this one. Will attempt to limit the scope so we can try some pair programming!

Our tools: * Unity 3D * Pixen * Bfxr.net * GarageBand, if we can spare the time for music

Good luck to all the Darers out there!

First LD over here! :tada:

Made a demo first to see if I like my idea, but I'm in!

Progress!

I'm officially ahead of schedule, wasn't feeling the theme at 2AM this morning but now I'm quiet liking it.

LD38: I'll give this a try

It has been a while since I last seriously participated in LD. Let's see if my schedule will allow me to do something interesting this weekend. No promises, but I will do my best.

Libs and src: * SDL (www.libsdl.org) * MiniLib (www.github.com/SirJonthe/MiniLib) * MAGE2D (www.github.com/SirJonthe/MAGE2D)

Tools: * QT Creator * GIMP * SFXR

I may or may not stream on Twitch (www.twitch.tv/ray_caster).

I'm in!

Starting a little late and I'll probably not go all out, but hopefully I'll make something playable!

Defenders of a Small World

I’m pretty sure I had to do A Small World for my very first LD in 2012.

My idea for this year is to have a giant planet-eating monster floating around the solar system. The player will either be a small spaceship trying to defend the solar system by killing the monster or the monster fending off tiny spaceships so it can have some planet-sized snacks.

I want to have a somewhat realistic planetary model with semi-authentic gravity which gets messed up by the monster and the disappearing planets. That might be a bit complicated so I’ll see what that involves first.

Update 2: Glowsticks!

So yea, light is good so why dont you throw some glowsticks?

LD38 Smallville

Hey Devs,

tools: Haxe, OpenFl, LMMS and Aseprite

theme: Small world

idea :ok_hand:: make small grid based world , with lots of entities with different behavior. You travel through each level and interact with them or fight them and improve/upgrade your char. Also its up to you when you want to travel to next level (or return to previous) , but you must know - each level gets harder to complete or reach next level exit. Everything is simple, small and fun

:nerd:

My artwork so far!

No idea how image sharing works here. Eh, good enough

Not sure how I'm gonna apply the theme to Puzzlescript, but I didn't have the time to learn Unity before the event :( It's better to use a language I actually know. Gives me confidence :D
