LD 38 April 21–24, 2017

Go go compo

I just woke up to learn about the theme for LD38. My first ever LD was #23 with the theme "Tiny World", so I guess this one takes me back to my roots.

Unity + whatever other tools I might need.

I'm in and I like the theme! Won't be starting until about 1pm (UK) but then will be joining the Plymouth Game Devs in Devonport.

Let us have good games.

Hey all! It's my first LD, and I'll be heading straight for compo. To add a twist and learn something new, I decided to scrap game-making tools for this project and just go straight HTML/JS (would go lower level if it were easy to run those things on all systems).

Good luck!

I'm in!

Just woke up, not the theme I was hoping for but let's go!

Damn Disneyland

When I woke up this morning, the only thing I could think about the theme was that annoying ride at disneyland >_<

No idea, still at sleep => best conditions!

Good luck everyone :)

Hello, world!

First Ludum Dare, after years of wanting to participate but never having the time, and first time using Godot! It's been fun so far, and it turns out Godot is a nice little engine (even if my Python is a bit rusty).

So far, basic UI, clock management, and map interactions are done. Tomorrow I'll hammer out the more interesting mechanics.

Nano : The Mission

It's a big leap for me, but as I've already created "Small World" here for Ludum Dare 23 I feel I have to push the envelop.

Since I made that game I wrote a 50,000 word book called "Nano" for the National Write a Novel in a Month comp in Nov 2014 and have been proof reading it, getting it ready for publication.

I've always wanted the book to be a film, but on the meantime, perhaps one of the chapters where the scientists first try the nanotech shrink ray would make a cool gameplay sequence. It's narrative based and demands a 3D environment, and I would like to try some cutscene tech in Unity. I will be using Photoshop, Playmaker, Maya, Mixamo, Character Creator, BFXR, Audition and Garage Band to build this.

EDIT: Actually, looking at the games I've made here, I have 3 nano based games already - must be destiny - or maybe I'm obsessed with all thing in the quantum realm :D
