LD 40 December 1–4, 2017

Our First Ludum Dare!

Ludum Dare 40 will mark our first experience with this competition. We're thrilled to see what the team is and what we'll do. Note: This is NOT our first game jam, its our first Ludum dare.

We wish everyone good luck!

We're hoping to be in more Ludum Dare's

First LD Jam

My first LD jam. Im super exited to work on my game. The themes all seem really cool so... Ill be making game with Unity, PhotoShop, blender, audacity, and Fl Studio... Goodluck to you all. May the best win :)

In for 40

Hello, Im in for ludum dare 40.

I have done 37, 38, 39 before so continuing this streak

totally original game idea

There is one constantly changing level with floating islands. You are not the main character, you control the scenario instead. You start with nothing in a limited space, but it is constantly expanding. Death is useful, as it allows you to reclaim your single resource, your tiny machines which come in three colors. Everything is connected by them, and they take one minute to build, but they perform worse the more you have. You have to use them to venture into the unknown and repair the broken world.

Original "I'm In!" post

It's been a few years since I've participated in LD, but I'm pretty hyped to get back into it! Hopefully, I'll be able to actually finish a project this weekend.

Tools

  • Love2D for a framework

  • GIMP for drawing

  • Zerobrane for code writing

  • BFXR for sounds (people still use that, right?)

I'm In!

Obligatory post to say that I will make a game this weekend! :D

Good Luck, Have Fun!

No seriously, you should have tons of fun :)

I'm In

two cold days long a game be given also: wayside fun

We're in!

This is our second Ludum Dare after making Mobsferatu for the Ludum Dare 34 and placing #5. It was an epic experience but we've been really busy finishing up our latest game, Immortal Redneck, so we didn't have the time or energy required to participate in another Ludum Dare.

But now that have changed! Immortal Redneck is out in the wild and we're ready for a new Ludum.

Tools we'll be using: - Unity 2017.2 - Photoshop - 3DS Max

We'll also be live streaming all weekend :)

We're In

We're In. A team of five strong motivated game design students will have no sleep on this weekend to create something cool or something very strange. I mean we're students and have many bottles of mate cola. Everything is possible. :D

We will work with Unity and some freaky artist programs.

Good luck, have Fun!

Cheers :eagle:

WE'LL TRY OUR BEST

So...

This is our first Ludum Dare. We don't really know what to do but we'll try our best. We decided to do this yesterday. What's the worst that could happen.

We re just a couple of peeps that will try their hardets on this Ludum Dare. Using Unity and the adobe package we should be able to deliver something.

Good Luck to everyone.

Here we go

After time of thinking, as Security Freaks in Web Development area, we are a team of two guys that are entering this new zone, so why not try it at Ludum Dare, we hope nothing but the best to the competitors, let's see how it goes.

I'll give it a shot!

I'm fairly new to Unity, and completely new to Ludum Dare. I might not even be able to finish a game before the deadline, but I'll give it a go!

I'm in and good luck everyone!

We didn't manage to finish our last entry, a game called The two of us. For #40 ludum we want to make a small, complete game with great spooky atmosphere and aiming for 3 colors theme. Maybe something about desolate spaceships.

I'm going to record this 72- hour madness https://www.twitch.tv/pixeye

Tools we’ll be using:

  • Unity 2017.3.10 BETA Cause I fear no possible Unity3d bugs!
  • Photoshop for art
  • Logic Pro X for music

THE TEAM: - Pixeye : design, programming, effects - Alex : art stuff - Nike070888 : music guy - Fluffy : coordinator, boss, rat, hive mastermind

LETS DO THIS!

As a regular streamer within the GameDevelopment community on Twitch, I look forward to seeing the wave of new people streaming this weekend! Feel free to drop yourself into the GameDevelopment community when setting up your stream (if you aren't already!) so you're easier to find. It's such a kind, fun and awesome community to be a part of! If you need a break during LD40 and want to feel better about your work, feel free to pop by and enjoy my struggles on my channel. Goodluck <3

I'm back and I'm in

Been 4 years since I haven’t tried a Ludumdare Dare! Been doing it since I got in the industry in 2010 and up till 2013. With Ebony Spire out the gate and updates 1.3 and 1.4 ready to be released I’m looking at prototyping a new game to work on in 2018! My past ludumdares proved successfull eighter as released games or improved tech I can add to my engine. So, this is my setup for LD40:

Setup
  • 23’’ tablet/monitor with Android built in
  • Gigabyte Brix mini-pc with Integrated Intel Iris Pro 5200
  • My own framework dubbed Chaurus built on top of MOAI
  • Ubuntu 16.04
  • GIMP
  • Audacity
  • Acer Chromebook 14 in case I need to work on the go

For LD40 I’m aiming at making a small game with turn-based rules and mechanics. Self-imposed limitation before the theme is announced are: Single-screen levels and it must remind the player of the terminal interface in fallout 3/NV/4. I always dreamed of making a game in which you are controlling what happens in it via a terminal-like interface. We will see how that turns out.

That being said, I’m in guys!

We're in

Hell ye

I'm in!

Fingers crossed I'll find some free time over the weekend to bash something out.

Who knows what I'll use. Either Pico-8, Unity or Puzzlescript I would imagine.

Good luck!

It seems we are in too !

Hello everyone ! Our team is fresh new and composed of : - @nanocryk who has done the Ludum Dare #34 (compo) and will essentially program the game - @Arilox who has never done a jam yet and will mainly game design and create game assets

It will be a great adventure for two University friends to join in a little apartment to live these three days together making a game. We will be pleased to share these moments with you, and that is why we will be streaming every moments of this game development journey (except when we are sleeping, you creep).

From the breakfast to the late evening exhaustiveness, you will be able to watch us eating delicious meals prepared by ourselves, programming and designing our game, or having funny moments of trolls or jokes. We will maybe have some guests that would join us to check the progress and spend some good time with us !

Tools we are using (everyone does it so we follow) : - Rust language (with piston library for 2d rendering) - Aseprite - Git - GIMP - OBS - Discord - Windows (we'll target all platforms for our game, don't worry) - Home made meals (meaning we will be using a kitchen and all that weird human stuff) - A lot of Monster and sodas (no product placement here) - Ourselves bodies and more especially brains (Or maybe only one for us two)

Do not hesitate following us on these social networks to have fun with us during this Jam ! ;) - Arilox : - Twitch : https://www.twitch.tv/arilox - Twitter : https://twitter.com/AriloxWasTaken - nanocryk : - Twitch : https://www.twitch.tv/nanocryk - Mastodon : https://mamot.fr/@nanocryk

We mainly speak french but there is no problem to speak english if needed.

We hope you will all have fun during this Ludum Dare and good luck to all the jammers !
