Awesome result + Post jam version

I have just one thing to say about the result:

WOW! Thank you so much for the support guys. You're the best!

But don't go anywhere, while you were waiting for the result, I took some time to make a more complete and polished version of the game. I hope you will like it.

Overall 640 | Part 2

Some mins ago i write this post: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/greedy-robot-fight/greedy-robot-fight-overall-640th

And now i am thinking about the issues i had with this project, some people don't understood the theme applied in the game, more turns you have more turns the bot has too, and probably i should make more stuff with that idea, different attacks more playable chars etc, another problem i think was the difficulty, in some of the maps you have a 100% win chance, and ya you can always play it in a way that you can lose but that get down some of the fun you can get

The audio its my better voted category, its strange but cool, i will learn more about music to the next ld!

BTW i am very surprised about getting ~23 ratings in the first 3-4 days, one guy said me that i have to vote other games to push mine and that works well, but its important make a good game too, i saw ton of winners with 20 votes and less, nice!

Cardhoard: Looking back, looking forward.

Wow! So... Cardhoard did way better than I anticipated.

I'm honestly stunned, and very happy enjoyed you all enjoyed the game so much. For those that played and commented during the rating period, thank you so much for all the feedback.

While I have you here, I actually have a little announcement to make: I've already begun on work on a new-and-improved edition of the game, which will release as a standalone game for computers, and hopefully phones! It will have the same pick-up-and-play gameplay as the original, but with some tune-ups and new features, like better (and rebindable!) control, tighter movement, a more graceful difficulty curve, and a little warehouse to explore when you aren't busy stomping boxes. If you are interested in following development, feel free to follow me on Twitter!

From #17 to #405

Heck. What happened? I mean, that's what I get for doing 15 hours for a baseline. I'm not mad or anything. I'm not expecting to be at the top 25 either. So that's fine!

Capture.png

Next time, I hope I have the time to make a full 48 hours next Ludum Dare! I swear it!

Other than that, header.png

:star: will continue in progress.

Yes, I see the potential of this and I will be working on a full version of it! Thank you all for the wonderful feedback and I hope to update you guys soon in a form of videos!

I'll be announcing it here soon, or my Twitter soon enough! So stay tuned! (I might actually do a kickstart on this soon as well. I want to have the passion of continuing this through the end!)

So here's the pitch:

Dad left a treasure hunt for me to explore. Even with all of that effort, will it be worth it, or will be too much?

Take it as it is but in terms of my series world, it can be taken to a whole new context! Well, I am trying. Here's how it looks right now tho. All made from scratch.

That's it for me. See you next Ludum Dare or on the first update video of project Revolve!

Feel satisfied with my first LD result

Life's A Glitch Results - 81st in Audio

Capture.PNG

Fairly good scores I think. It'll be interesting to see how many games got rankings for each category, I think this jam broke the record for the number of games entered.

I'm definitely surprised to get in the Top 100 for Audio this year, it's generally my worse ranking category from all my past submissions.

Title GIF

Either way, thanks to everyone who played and rated Life's a Glitch! Have a happy new year!

Quadrilateral Damage came 2nd place in the fun category! :D

quad02-bnabr5db.png

LD40 has been a great experience for me. It's the second LD I've participated in, but my first compo entry as well, and to be placed in the top 100 in two categories (41st overall and 2nd in fun) is really exciting!

Thank you so much to everyone who played, rated and left feedback on my game! Also, another big thanks to everyone who streamed my game! It was the first time I've ever been able to watch someone who I've never met play a game of mine, and it was a very exciting and entertaining experience!

Congrats to everyone who finished a game for the jam or the compo. It's not an easy feat to accomplish, so seeing so many people working on their own projects in such a short time frame makes me feel good inside :3

One more thing, for anyone who played my game and may be interested in an improved version, check out this video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1DsWuNqmdFI

"Super Quadrilateral Damage" as I call it is coming along really well, and since the LD version, I've added an additional character to play as, more enemies and bosses, an improved menu system and more features. Other features have yet to be implemented too, so stay tuned.

See you all at Ludum Dare 41 :D

Runaway Magic - Top 1000 WOOOO

ludumdare40results.png

To be honest, I'm not really that upset with my placement, given the feedback, and I'm actually kinda surprised! This was my first LD, and first time building a game in a time crunch - since college - so honestly? I'm feeling really good, despite placing 912 overall. Besides, I broke the 300s in humor, so that counts for something! :D

Thank you to everyone who rated and left me feedback. It honestly really made my day and feel like I'm actually halfway decent at this game development thing. This is certainly not my last LD, and I am looking forward to LD41 with excitement.

ON TO THE NEXT ONE!

Not bad for the first LD!

Hey, results are online and I would like to thank you all for your ratings. It was my first Ludum Dare and it was awesome!

Since I never participated in LD I didn't know what to expect. Before the event I wanted to be in the first half. After I submitted my game I was quite satisfied with what I've done during the weekend (https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/im-not-here). Feedback was positive and I was even thinking of the first 100 (at least in one category). And my game actually made it! 67th in the Fun category, cool! Playing games should be fun, right? So it’s one of the most important categories, right? :D And 148th overall out of 1040 in Compo is not bad at all either.

screenshot.png

It's a shame I didn't play the most games in the first 100 (I've rated 78 games).. but I will catch it :)

Thanks and see you in LD41!

Results are in! 101st on Humor, not too bad! 250th total

Getting high in humor was my goal. Not as high as i was hoping, but it might have been more brutal than funny. Thanks for all the votes! For my first ever Jam, i am happy with the results :D

Capture.PNG

A little disappointed...

Results are in! And unsurprisingly there is still plenty to improve.

Screenshotem2017-12-29/em00-48-27.png

I was really hoping that for once I would be able to break into the overall top 100. And I was just a hair off of it. Oh well, I guess what I did wasn't good enough. These are still the best results I ever got for a game, so I'm still quite happy with it. I just hoped for the cream on top of the cake, but no dice.

What really surprises me about some of the results I see are that people get in the top 25 on their first ludum dare! Holy shit! What kind of voodoo is this? I have been partecipating in almost every ludum dare since the 26th. So this is my 15th ludum dare. And I still don't have even a distant glimpse of the top of the scoreboard! Fuck, I guess I plain suck.

Oh well. Life's a game, after all. You have to suck to get better.

If you didn't get a chance and still want to try my game out, feel free to do so! It would make me so happy you don't have an idea. Seriously. You can check it out here: HEADSTUCK

You can also follow me on Twitter if you are interested updates on future projects. I mostly work on story based games, so see if that tickles your fancy. I'm always happy to know more people.

I want to thank the organizers and everyone that commented on my game, the feedback has been amazing! Thank you so much everyone!

Results are in for Sugarplum Summit!

Wow what a ride it has been. My team and I want to thank everyone who rated our game. While the results are lower than we thought they would be, it's still pretty good for our first time doing Ludum Dare!

Again, thank you everyone! :)

My First LD results, not happy at all =/

I didn't know what to expect since the beginning, but top 200 of 10000 is kinda depressing, lol.

Anyways, I still need a lot of practice, this was my second try at making a game (first doing it alone), and I learned a lot, but I still have even more to learn to make decent games.

Oh, and thanks to everyone who played my game and rated it. That was by far the most exiting part of it, for me.

I'll be drowning my sorrows in D&D today until my hands hurt of throwing dice =(

Well, that's it

  • This was our 11th entry on ludum, "Super Cop Hero" has become one of the most popular among our games, with more than a hundred comments, but with almost the worst our result for all time.

It seems the more votes your game has, the more the result will be averaged. ¯ \ ( ツ )

Thanks everyone for your feedback!

It was super cool read yours comments : )

7th in humor! Thank you so much!!!

Thanks to everyone that rated us! 7th in humor was TOTALLY not what we expected. I'm so pumped. Especially because I forgot to add the humor section for two days or so after we put it up!!!

If anyone wants to view the bonus Christmas section, I'd suggest playing it within the next few days because after December you won't be able to access it again for a whole year!
