LD 40 December 1–4, 2017

Looking for people

Hey everyone. This is my 4th LD. I was always doing it alone but now i feel like it would be nice to be part of a team. Im experienced in Unity/C#, and little bit of Blender (models, rigs, anims, just basic stuff). Right now we are 2 programmers and a designer so we are looking for some artists. Our discord: https://discord.gg/uFWGE2

Ludum Dare 40

My N-th attempt to LD, this time i'll not create engine but game xD because i already have engine and it's browser one and it's very easy to use and i'ts perfect for prototypes like LD! :D

  • Coding language: JavaScript (ES6)
  • Game engine: Oxygen (https://www.npmjs.com/package/oxygen-core - it's able to make games that cute: http://soulhunter.psichix.io/)
  • Code editor: Atom (with Activate Power Mode to not sleep while i'll code :D)
  • Graphics: probably Pixly (or other if not pixelart)
  • Audio: I've got trial of Reason (and it's easy and fun) and maybe it'll be supported by violin and ukulele instruments!

I'll try stream and create some small warm-up project ^^

Good luck guys and make great games! <3

We're in!

A group of 3, 2 devs and an artist. Safe to say we are here for the Jam rather than the competition. (If that's still a thing)

If not, well, good excuse to make a game!

Going to give godot ago, already ran through the pong tutorial. So, hopefully, we shouldn't be stuck on weird collision edge cases for 6 hours.

Let's do it :)

So many projects and already late... I should work this week-end...

Nah, I can't miss the Ludum Dare ! :D

I'll make à game in Java, from scratch (using my own small architecture though).

Have fun :)

I'm in for the 10th time!!!

Wow I've already entered 9 ludum dares and I'm about to enter yet another!

This time I'll be using Unity 3D with mono develop and I'll have help with the art from @le-american I might ber making audio with sfxr and bosca ceoil but there's also a chance I'll have help from someone else!

To celebrate 10 LD jams I'll be playing through all my old entries on twitch in an hour or two!

Enjoy this gif by @le-american showing off the art style we are aiming for

First time here!

This is going to be my first ludum-dare experience. I'm a bit nervious. I haven't decided yet if i'm going to use godot engine or phaser js. if you want to support me, here is my twitch (also, i never streamed in my live, so, it's going to be a bit crappy) https://www.twitch.tv/soyrandom1

I'm sh*tting my pants

I won't lie to you, that's the truth right now.

In just a few hours, I will try to participate in Ludum Dare again.

My last participation amounted to 2 hours of sheer panic and blank page syndrome during LD 34. It took me over a year to 'dare' face enrolling again after my meltdown at LD 34.

I'm not a video game creator. I'm a C# developer by trade, but I make boring accounting-type software. I know nothing of making a video game aside from basic text games I made 15 years ago on my calculator.

After only 2 hours of panicking and producing absolutely nothing, I forfeited during LD 34. My dream was to make something I would be proud of, something I could show to my friends, something meaningful, before I turned 30. That ship has sailed and I had a full year to reflect on my failings and on how much I didn't know myself.

This time, I'm entering with a much more modest goal. I am not even hoping to complete a game within the 48 hours limit. If by some miracle I have something playable, I will publish it. But I'm only entering to prove to myself that I can do it. I can surpass the blank page. I can avoid a total meltdown. I am stronger than my anxiety wants me to believe. And if I happen to learn a thing or two about the tools or myself in the process, all the better.

So I guess, what I mean is "I'm in again", for better or for worse.
