LD 41 April 20–23, 2018

I'm in. This is my first ludem dare

Hello all, this is my first Ludem Dare. I will be using Game Maker Studio 1.4 as its what I am familiar with. I am very excited for this event, as it will encourage me to actually work on a game rather than """"forget"""" to work on it. I'm currently doing some practice with game maker as I haven't used it in a while. Anyways, good luck.

2nd Ludum Dare

I can't believe it came up so quickly! I had a lot of fun last time, and I'm sure this time will be no different! In this jam I will be using: Unity- Game engine Bosca Ceol, Audacity, GarageBand, and beepbox.co for music/sound effects! Piskel, blender, (maybe Inkscape) and FireAlpaca for art! Visual Studio, Sublime Text for code! MacOsx for an operating system(Though I also have windows!) I will also be posting my game on itch.io! Hope everyone enjoys, and GOOD LUCK! 🌭

I'm in.

For my 16th LD (plus 1 give up) I should feel prepared, but… I'm not. Each time is a new way to improve knowledge of what I can do (and in peculiar discovering what I can do that I think I can't ^_^).
This time, I already know that I can slaughter all the themes. I wish I will discover other hidden skills. :D
And I wish you all to have very much fun doing this LD ! \o/

Did it!

Some of you folks must be theme selecting juggernauts because this took me forever! Mostly I just went with my gut reaction. In general, I preferred the open ended themes - themes that could be applied to a range of different approaches or interpreted in interesting ways. I rejected anything that I felt was too prescriptive or that I'd seen in previous LDs. I thought I was being strict. Turns out a lot of you are much stricter than me!

First LD!

Hello everyone! I will be attempting my first Ludum Dare this upcoming weekend! I am super excited, kind nervous, and ready to fail. I'm kinda new to the system, so there is a lot I need to prepare for. Tell me if you guys got any quick tips!

Ready for LD41

Hi people! I'm returning for the next LD. My last LD was the 36. and I made a tiny platformer demo in Unity. I'm really excited! Let's make some games!

A Good Non-Restrictive Title = A Good Ludum Dare

Another Ludum Dare, so it's another time of me being a smartass about how it is important to have a good theme.

For some people this is not an important aspect of this competition, yet many of us pray for rally good and variable theme.

I don't want to change anyone's mind, I just want you to think about themes more than you have so far.

It's always better to have 1000 varieties of "Good Guy/Limited Space..." theme, than 1000 same games of "Laser Gun/Using Only Mouse..." theme.

Most importantly, all of you have fun and enjoy this amazing event! :)

I'm horrified

I'm in!

Hello to everyone! I'm joining LD as part of a team and will write code in Unity. This is my second jam and first LD and I'm really excited about it. I wish luck to everyone and lets have fun!

Themes for the THEME GOD!!!

I'm done with the slaughter!

Not as harsh as some, but still:

I know this might sound a tad wierd...

But if someone is following me - let's be friends!

I'm not the most sociable person in the world, and I still want to make some friends.

So if there are any people following me, please let me know and I will follow you back.

My first Jam, In over my head?

I'm very recent to game development in general. I have only been interested for about a year and finally started putting in some work about 3 months ago to learning how to develop games. I learned of Ludum Dare at the same time and decided I would participate. I expect I wont get a great score but decided to push myself hard towards this goal. I hope that I can at least submit a game that people can play. I started developing in unity and have since been working mostly in Unreal engine. I am trying to build my experience with blueprints so I can throw a prototype together quickly. Ill take any advice people have for me and am willing to be on a team for the jam. Just know I am far from a developer yet but understand the basics and have played a ton of games. I will be using unreal, blender, gimp and sfxr. Wish me luck!

I am in!!

Joining for my fourth Ludum Dare!

I plan to use:

  • Unity
  • Bfxr
  • Lmms
  • Piskel
  • Blender

Good luck everyone!

Too many repetitions and instructions. I think, that's why I only kept such few themes... If you don't want to make a game with guns - don't do it. If you want to make a game with just two colors - just, do it.

But nevertheless I am looking forward to create a new game, and actually the theme is not that important. But it would be nice to get a general theme.

A happy GameJam to you!

I'm in again! Finally!!!

I have participated twice in the past, the first time in LD34, and again in LD38. I'm so excited to be able to participate again this time around!

Darn life needs to quit getting in the way!

My tools: - Unity - Aseprite if 2d - Blender if 3d - Aural and Bosca Ceoil for music - Bfxr and ChipTone for sfx

OH and Chronolapse for a timelapse of the weekend! It's my favorite part, seeing the game come together at the end of it all!

A huge GOOD LUCK to everyone participating this time! :D
