LD 41 April 20–23, 2018

I hope I'm in!

I'm absolutely glad to read that the next LD is starting at Saturday 21st because it made me able to join it! Not 100% sure because my final exam (possibly in my whole life 0_o) starts at the same time, but when I finally pass it I'm going to create a game! =) Also, I hope my friend @komnotmr will join me.

As for tools, we decided to pick the same set because we want to master it:

  • vim for code (V-I-M for the win! =D );
  • phaser 2 despite of the third one;
  • bfxr for sound if presented;
  • gimp for graphics.

If it happens to me to run solo, I may decide to switch to GameBoy Advance game development instead of all this stuff. =) Just curious, how many people would play a game presented as a ROM? If you would, please, leave a comment.

Have fun everyone! Let's make some games! :video_game:

I'm in!

This will be my 2nd time in LDJAM,i will use Unity to create my game.Hope every bro can enjoy!

I'm in

This will be my second LD & I'll be going solo.

I'll probably be rolling SFML/C++ - maybe try SFGUI.

If I'm feeling it I might go for typescript + webgl.

Other utilities: - Paint.net - VS community - Audacity

I'll be sure to have fun ;)

It will be my first LD

For my first LD I've got: - unity basic knowledge - C# basic knowledge - good mood - fast meel's like PIZZA/BURGERS - strong drinks like coffee :) and unlimited amounts of imagination.

See You there folks!

Genuine Earthmen is in!

We're in!

@daanvanyperen started partaking back at LD26 through LD30, then a break until LD33, and another break until I joined him for LD36. Since then we've been partaking each time again, with @meatmachine joining us at LD38. There, now you know our chronology. We call ourselves Genuine Earthmen.

The three of us form the core-group, but we may receive some help from more people as supply and demand rearranges themselves.

I'm in as well!

This is my first LD and I'm a rather inexperienced game developer. I'll be using GameMaker Studio 2 for this one and am really excited for this!

I've already said it....

I've already said I'm in, but I've just learned a new language. Rust! There are many crates, or packages in other languages, that will help me make a 2d or even 3d game in Rust. Game - Rust? - C++? - Java? - Twine? Music - Bosca Ceoil. Picture - Gimp

I'm in

Hey there I'm Adrien a French student I'm in with two friends, it my first ludum dare and for this time i use construct 2.

A warm Hello

Hello everyone, I wish you all good luck in the game jam. This is my first Ludum Dare, I am very inexperienced with making games but looking forward to this. I am both excited to make my first game that will be played by other people as well as play the great games everyone else will make. Good luck and have a great jam :smile:

First LD

First LD and 3rd game every made I guess ill see how it goes! :D Good luck to everyone participating!

I'm in.

Software, etc. depends on the theme, but looking forward to playing everyone's games!

This'll be #6 for me.

OMG! Dare 41!

Don't forget about me!

This year, I'm trying my first Ludum Dare, which will also be my first completed-game to speak of. This is very important to me, so I definitely don't want to miss out.

My calendar in the right sidebar says "Starts Saturday at 1:00 PM NZST". I'm actually quite worried. That seems correct, but in my time zone daylight savings recently expired and the 1:00 PM didn't change. I know there's a thread for this, but unless I do some pretty hardcore calculations (I'm not good with clocks) I won't know.

Game design is my passion, and I've been trying to get a foothold on it basically my entire life. It'll feel good to have a complete, quite sanctioned game out by the time April is over. After that, I can finally start moving again.

I'm ready my dudes.

As many people this is my first Ludum Dare, and I hope I do well, that goes for everyone here. Good luck!

  3. Gimp

It's been a while and I'm in

Did Ludum Dare 21-28, but haven't done one since. Got busy with life and the like. I decided that it's been long enough and I should probably get off my rump and do it again.

I used to use different libraries and languages to do my games in and for this one I'm going to continue in that tradition and use C# + MonoGame this time around. I've been writing a bunch of framework code prior to the competition so that I'm not stuck setting up how to draw a segment of an image, which is handled in an unfriendly manner in MonoGame; and other unfriendly code bits that do nothing but slow down work.

With all of that said, good luck to everyone and especially to those who are new to the Ludum Dare. It's hard, but if you finish, you'll feel a lot pride. 👍

I'm in for LD41!!

Let's see what happen this time. Can't wait!

Count me in!

Spent the morning dusting off Unity. Pretty rusty but I'm sure I'll produce something. Whether it's worth playing or not - well, that's a whole other question!

In any case, I plan on having a bunch of fun and seeing just how many features I can shovel into the "that's way too hard" basket by the end of the Jam.

Unity + Blender + Photoshop + Logic X + Caffeine.

I'm in!

I'm in! This is gonna be my first LD and my first jam at all :P. Maybe its not going to be pretty or well polished but i'm going to submit something!
