Day 1 Progress - Sky Pirates?

Here's my progress for day 1. First time in a while I've done a jam solo and I usually do 3d art, so I may be spending way too much time on art. I'm hoping I can finish up the majority of the art I know I need by tomorrow afternoon so I can code all night and Sunday.

Too literal?

First idea: you lose powerdrops and need to collect them again a level down. Don't know if I'll move forward with this one...

Some voxels

Here's the current progress, looks like my voxel engine is actually working:

But planning the actual game is still being done..

Progressing......... back...

Ok, so after seeing those awesome arts, music, prototypes, and even some posts saying that he/she finished it, I am worried... I feel i am progressing back....

My only problem seems to be ART. I even suck at color picking when i do some programmer art...

I really wish it goes well...

Meanwhile, just wasting time listening to this.

Power Up!

Finally awake and I'm in! A few Ludum Dare's have passed since I could last make it so looking forward to this one.

Tools will be JavaScript/PixiJS for code, Sketch/PhotoShop for art, Reaper/Synths for audio.

First off though pencil and paper!

Prototype for my Clicker Game

A simple prototype for a clicker game. The characters will get tired so you have to click their energy bar to energize them!

Heureka!

Finally we got an idea that get us very excited to implement. Tools will be Unity, Blender and Audacity.

We are going for the 72h competition, so (we hope) there is plenty of time to get this idea to your screens

Main character done

This is first Ludum dare. I finished main character. Hope you will like itJLy9.png

Whiteboard Funsies

Scrawling some ideas for the game design on the whiteboard. The idea is to make a game where as you progress, you lose abilities, making the game harder.

abilities.jpg

A whole lot of possible abilities ranked on how interesting they'd be.

Is this going to be top-down or side-on? Mechanics-wise, both have advantages, but I think side-on will be prettier, so let's go with that!

LD39 Blog #2: Bullet Time!

Well, it's been a long night, but I have part of the basic mechanics implemented!

Say hello to our new bullet overlords:

Next up? A ship building screen.

Background for scene 2 done!

I just made the background for scene 2! (and yes, the previous one was for scene 1). It is some candy corns for the floor, orange candy canes that kinda look like trees with the candy corns behind... If you're asking where I'm going with this idea, I'd answer "I've got no clue!"

Screenshot_142.png Really hoping this is allowed for the jam!

Programmer Art - Idle animation

I'm very proud of my shitty animation. Took me longer than the programming I've been doing.

I'm in (kind of)

So yeah, I'm kind of in - kind of in the sense that I'm away from home, and only have an old laptop with me, and have just a few hours each day. However, today I have ended up with a few more hours than expected, so that may work in my favour. Tools: - Typescript/HTML5 (ooooo - something that's not C++/C#. I know, I'm a maverick) - Visual Studio code - Chrome I'm playing with some web technologies (but typescript, as I can't quite give up my deeply embedded statically typed, object orientated mindset  )

So good luck everyone!

Half of 1st day over (and btw I'm in!)

Hey everyone! It's a bit late for the announcement, but I'm in for this LD! This will be my 6th compo (only 3 of which I have managed to submit a game).

The tools I'll be using are: - Game Engine: Unity - IDE: Visual Studio - Graphics: Paint, GIMP - Sound: BFXR

I started working 2 hours ago. So far I have: - Found my idea! :) - Worked on level design.

The game will be some kind of FPS/survival/tower defense (without towers) game. There will be 3 phases which will repeat: - Preparation: The player will have a minute to prepare for an attack. - Attack: Creatures will come and try to destroy some of your equipment (air/power). - Rest: During that phase, the player can repair some stuff and craft some items.

Here's a top view of the map so far: ProgressReport1-1.png
