Tentative Title: Take Charge

This is technically my second time diving into the world of Ludum Dare

After pretty much an all-nighter brainstorming and mocking up ideas, I may have to go at this time at a different approach.

I'm late, but I'm in for the compo

Using GameMaker: Studio photoshop/gimp sfxr audacity

I'm late and only barely have an idea. This should be fun!

It's technically a Game

As I head off to sleep after working on this for a solid 12 hours, I give you access to the very early working concept.

A: I think it's time to implement a sleep animation...

B: Uhm, no one will see it! What is with the core mechanics?!

A: Shhhhh... sleep my friend!

Little break

Whoa! It's time for small break and take daughter for a walk. For now everything is compiling, i've finished programming Tile and LevelMap classes. Everything works fine! My test map file: map_test.png

PS. I'm so excited! I've never supposed that human being is able to doing such a fantastic things in short time!

I'm Stuck in Conceptual Phase AGAIN?!

OMG, again my least favorite option was voted for and I had no plan for it whatsoever! Life and such is again in the way (when is it not) and thus I'm just going to plan for a Jam entry this time around and skip the self made crappy art phase :)

What am I doing? I still have next to no idea but it will involve Kenney art, this I know!

Working overseas

If anyone wondered how it is doing LD on the Internet...
Any other long-distance teams here? lol.png(Don't mind the plant... everything is absolutely under control...)

Enemies and bullets

After some more work I added a simple enemy that follows the player and bullets the player can shoot at the enemy. Also, shooting takes up a lot of energy. bullets.gif

"Ministry of Synthesis": A Puzzle Platformer about Wave Synthesis

video-2017-07-30T01-09-49.gif

Each door requires a certain waveform to open it, you must connect various modules together to generate the required wave. You can see and hear the waves as you manipulate them and compare them to the required wave.

Set in a dystopian future where all music is created in a giant music AI facility which now only has one hour left on it's backup generator. As the lone maintenance employee, you must venture through the security systems and reawaken music for the world.

Almost done!! 15 hours straight xP

There comes a point my friends, that thy one is no longer capable of thinking without pass out in the table where he works haha so after 15hours straight here beside u all, ill get my leave for some REST! Here i am again with another pick at our little project, photos are from 6 hours ago but ill show u our play-room and our main characterwork in progress2.pngworld.png just a piece of our world, i hope u guys are so exited as me to finish it! hope u all enjoy it has well! tomorrow by the 17h i may be over with this game

Starting in the middle and working outwards

For some reason I decided to start by modeling and rigging a character, possibly because that was an area I wasn't too sure about. It went okay eventually: Screen Shot 2017-07-29 at 8.53.28 AM.png

but on my first try I forgot how weight painting worked, and acidentally connected the shoulders to the toe rotation:

😂😬😂

today I'm going to completely leave that and try to work on my actual game mechanics, which is where I should have started yesterday. I'm thinking of calling my game "Running out of power".... which sounds unimaginative, but don't worry, there's a dumb twist!

Concepts Done

Hi all! So I spent maybe a good 2 hours last night trying to come up with the concept and the rest modeling and installing software I need.

Here is what I have so far, all the mechanics and gameplay are in my head, once I drew out the "poots" everything sort of fell into place.

Just woke up, had a delicious breakfast, gonna walk to the store to pick up coffee and snacks and i'm diving right back in. Stay tuned for more!

BTW if your unreal engine is fucking up (like the pull down menus dont properly work), it's because of the new windows 10 update, just update to the latest engine and youll be fine.*

After some time, i am taking little break again! For past few hours, i created dialog system and room transitions with smooth fade effect! Now i also have complete xbox controller support! And it works pretty neat!

(i am working with GMS:2)

Looking like we might have a game on our hands!

It's about 15 hours in and we've got some prototype going where numbers can start changing!

Our Cylon ship is able to move between planets, mine resources, recharge it's power and produce some more population. We're hoping to start implementing some battles soon so that we can fight some enemies as well.

If everything goes well we should be working on the artsy fartsy stuff tomorrow. Kudos to @chaotikza for the great idea.

Some progress with art stuff !!

Hi guy!!

Well, HABEMUS a title screen, a creepy mine portal and a lot of rails

Menu and game over screens. New and improved!

Every game needs a good looking main menu. After all, it's the first thing a player is going to see.mainmenu.png

However, what's a main menu without it's matching game over screen? gameover.png

Wot I've done (thus far)

It's a game where you squish humans to protect your slimes, as they charge up special crystals!

The art's pretty bad, but there is definitely 100% no other issues present, guaranteed.
