LD 39 July 28–31, 2017

I changed my mind. Again

I once again started with an over-coplicated idea in mind, and had to start over half way through. I however really like my new thing. It will be quite basic runner game. I tried to create a 3d feel using only basic javascript functions. I think it is turning out quite good.runner.gif

Progress 2: Get ready for the first battle

Bot is slowly approaching combat readiness.

While the Bot sets up for Botken, we're readying up the arena as well. See you post combat integration when panic is in full swing!

ScreenShots for UI

Been working on UI this morning to really round out the experience, trying to keep it simple and present it well without being too blocky SS1.pngSS2.pngSS3.pngSS4.png

Finished earlier than expected

Really pleased with this game, I think, it's my best LD game (that's not saying much, LD38 was really bad for me). Just need to add sounds and the game is pretty much feature-complete. Looks like, I'll even have time to polish it this time. Hope you guys will like it as well SRSS2.png

That's me done!

Hoo, that was close, short on time this weekend so decided to cut my compo deadline down by an extra 12 hours and force myself to be a bit less ambitious. Good luck everyone still hard at work!

In case you're curious, my game's now up here:

Progress

6.gif

Got a character sprite design and scale I'm happy with. Now for the dreaded hard part...

Run animation frames.

Proto472 is alive! Only thing left are visuals and sounds.

Well, I finally did it. I'm little out of my schedule but still plenty of time to go I think.

You can try it out here:

https://uzyfeo.github.io/

... and view source here (NOT RECOMMENDED WITHOUT SOME BLEACH ATM):

https://github.com/Feldarian/Proto472

Controls are as simple as the games aesthetics are atm:

  • Left/Right Arrows - movement
  • Space - jump

Description:

You are a little robot trying to escape its captivity! Your goal is to get as far as possible. You will run out of power so you need to pick up every battery you encounter. Batteries are small blue thingies floating in air (like every battery does!). Game gets harder by every second passing - more obstacles spawning and higher velocities to overcome. Every playthrough is unique thanks to procedural level generation.

Almost finished!

After hard work, now all that's left to do is debugging! Yay! I will publish the game in about an hour.

Devlog 2 - Boring stuff is done!

HI!

Hello, guys! Yesterday i was stuck with one stupid for cycle :D For THREE HOURS OMG. Afer that, i fixed it somehow and fell asleep. Now, i am awake for four hours and i have completed core of game! So, cutscenes, audio engine, light engine, menus, inventory... ALL DONE! Now is time for fun part :3 Making story!

Now is time for turning of gm and turning on pyxel edit and my mikunotebook!

Particles Party

I think it's quite important to give a visual game-to-player feedback, especially when something breaks, explodes or just disappears. And it looks hot!

VG-LD39-21.gif It's fine.

Actually, these are not particles but some animations.

Why perforce... Why?

Normaly working without any version control is madness. Unless your version control destroys the project and you have to scratch half a days of work -_-

Almost done!

I am happy to say that I am almost done in my first #LDJAM! It is quite simple game but I think it is a good start. This second part of the day I will focus on changing the graphics :)

I leave here the links for my early beta release: - Desktop game https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9pBinqz2Pi4d2ZwbjRKbmU4VGs/view?usp=sharing

  • Web version http://egrapps.com/ld39/ (It is a bit slow but it is meant to be a desktop game really)

Recommended settings: full-screen @ 1920x1080 and headphones!

13 Hours to go...

And things are getting weirder and weirder... Hoping to finish this game on time. LudumDare39em4.gif LudumDare39/em3.gif Keep it up guys! :D

What

This game took an unexpected turn. I don't even know anymore. Send help.

hmm.jpg

This will be my first time joining Compo so I some questions

I know this sounds stupid but, can you give me a website where I can post my SOURCE CODE.

For Unity: Also shall I only upload the scripts as source code or shall I upload the whole assets. Does using Post-Processing Effect allowed for Compo?

Work is going on

Working with the form. Testing a playing prototype behind a scene :) eaedMC2WGr8.jpg BgAMrEcFhv4.jpg

First playable version

I would like to share the intermediate results of the work done about 8-10 hours yesterday and today. Still it is necessary to make the interface and it is possible to be engaged in optimization, but the basic essence should be clear. What is done:

  • Infinite space with simple content generation
  • Stupid opponents
  • Funny art

What do you think about it?

Note: leaderboards are not working now, fix in progress >_<
