A week after
It has been a week since LD44 and I have been playing and rating games all week long. I've been having a blast playing various types of card games, shooters, platformers and more! You guys rock.
My own game has been getting warm receptions from the people who have taken the time to rate it, thank you. It has made my week how friendly people have been.
When the theme was announced my stomach dropped. I did not like the theme at all, but after a cup of coffee and ruminating over it a bit I came up with the idea that a player could "spend" their life and then play it out. It is a simple concept which lacks a few things I thought would be pretty essential in being a good ludum dare game. It had no action, no flashy graphics or anything like that, but it would be a game so I set out to make my event driven life game.
One trick with ludum dare is scoping correctly. If you choose too many features you will end up missing the deadline and if you have too few you'll be done way before target and have nothing to do (missing out on the fun of a gamejam for perhaps a day). I have lots of experience deeming how long it takes me to implement various features (not in gaming tho) so I booted up trello and started planning. After the two days, taking care to get enough sleep and food, I ended up with my game (https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/44/life-path).
Well, I'm gonna stop my rambling now :P I'm gonna go play some more games. See ya next LD.

NOW with bugfixes!
