I’m striving for the comp this time around.
I’m using:
Using Unity 5.5, GIMP, FL Studio & BFXR.
Cheers!
Last Jam I tortured myself by learning how to do interfaces and making a Doom-Clone from almost nothing. This time I’m going to torture myself by practicing level design and a different approach to how I design the game.
Things I’m probably going to use:
Engine: Unity (C#)
Art: ASEPrite
Sound: BXFR/Audacity
Music: No idea yet, probably gonna try LMMS but who knows ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Level Editing: Tiled (via Tiled2Unity http://www.seanba.com/tiled2unity) Because 3D kicked my ass last time.
Good luck to everyone, especially to all the newcomers for their first Ludum Dare! Make sure you have your coffee ready 😉

Plan to use:
Engine: unity3d
Graphics: GIMP
Audio: Audiocity, LMMS,
Menu?: Unity’s Game Jam Menu Template: https://www.assetstore.unity3d.com/en/#!/content/40465
Would the template be allowed in compo? Or Jam only?
This would be my fifth Ludum Dare.
In this Ludum Dare I decided to try something different.
Instead of GameMaker i will use C++ with SDL, this will raise chance of failure but it worth of try.
Tools: vim, gimp, aseprite, lmms, SFXR, tiled.
I really like this moment of suspense, when you don’t know anything about game you would make.
Sometimes I ending up with something weird…

I’m in!!!
I am pretty new to the game development scene but this seems like an interesting challenge.
Gonna be using Unity that much is sure, will figure out the rest as things proceed
#LD37
I don’t know what I’m going to use, but this is my first time and I’ll figure something out.
Good luck to everyone participating!
Hello people! I’m Vinicius Osti. I’m quite noob at these jam things and this will be my first Ludum Dare. I’ll enter the compo.
GameMaker Studio is the engine I use the most. Some of the games I made: https://viniciusosti.itch.io/
As I’m new to this, how can I post updates on the game I’m working? Do I make new blog posts for each update? Or I just make comments to this post?
Thanks, and best of luck for all!

hope i do well for my first LDJAM
So I got a Vive a couple of weeks ago and the app I was looking most forward to use was Tilt Brush. I think VR has a massive potential not just to play games in but also to use it to make games. So that’s why I have decided that I’ll make all the art for my LD entry in Tilt Brush and import it into Unity. I have already run a pipeline test and it’s fairly easy to get an FBX from Tilt Brush you can import into the engine.

A Tilt Brush sketch imported into Unity
Google has even provided shader code you can use in Unity, of course since Tilt Brush is made in Unity why they don’t just release the textures, materials and shaders are beyond me. As it is many of the brushes such as the more effect based ones don’t render correctly so I might have to code some more shaders during the jam.
So what kind of game do I want to make? No clue! I’m looking forward to hear the theme
It s my first time and im new to gamedev but i want to try
I will use GameMaker, Aseprite and Ableton Live8
I tried to (re)learn C++/SDL2 this week and get some base code set up. I can at least get sprites drawn, but we’ll see how far I get in terms of actual gameplay.
Engine: C++/SDL2
Graphics: GIMP
Audio: Audacity + badly played instruments/voice
Platforms: Windows, Linux, maybe Mac if I can get a friend to compile it.
Good Luck!
Newbie here! My goal is just to submit SOMETHING playable. Doesn’t have to be great or pretty. I want to get my foot in the door for future ones.
Awaiting the theme announcement… Should be a fun weekend!
Lets see how this goes!
I’ll be hoping to achieve a game centred around art. I’ll have helpers for story and music and we’ll be aiming for a more cinematic experience.
I’ll be using:
Unity
Blender
As for my partners I do not know equipment. Have fun jamming everyone!
This is my first ludum dare. I’m going to be using Unity 2D, paint.net and sfxr.
We are in for the Jam event! We are:
Adam: code and art
Greg: 3D and sprite art, music, writing, code
Ian: code and art
Melanie: 2D art https://www.instagram.com/inkystache/
Ricky: 3D art
Brian: code
Tools of choice: Unity C#, Photoshop, Blender, Reason, Pyxel Edit, Aseprite, Illustrator, Audacity, Tiled
Workflow: Slack, Git, Google Drive
We are going to try to twitch stream some of our work in progress:
https://www.twitch.tv/stellardoorgames
This will be my 6th Ludum Dare — I live for these times of the year!
So I haven’t done LD in a while, but I’m taking time this weekend to try and crank something out solo. I’ll be working in Unity, probably 2D but it depends on what the theme ends up being. Already trying to brainstorm ideas for all the theme finalists, since I won’t have a full uninterrupted weekend to do this.
Best of luck to all!

Hiya! We’re in.
Since things are tight this time around, we’re only going to have 1 day to make a game instead of the usual 3 days. Let’s hope we can cram in as much content as possible!
GLHF! ♥
Okay, so I haven’t made a fully completed game since I was in college and figured this would be a great chance to force myself to complete one. Just started learning GameMaker Studio but I have a solid handle on it, I think
Tools: Gamemaker Studio – Photoshop – Aseprite – FL Studio – Audacity
Lets see what kind of trouble we can get into in 48 hours. Good luck everyone!!
