Ludum Dare 37 December 9–12, 2016

Second time doing LD, super excited!

And scared, gonna be trying to use Unreal Blueprints to create it :)!

Im in!

I’m in again for what is probably the 6th time. Going to do compo with my own engine for the third time! Sadly this time I haven’t had the time to add anything new to it as preparation for LD. I will also have a few things to take care of tomorrow so I won’t have the whole weekend. See you in ~12 hours and good luck!

Things I will use:

  • OS: GNU/Linux
  • Language: C++11
  • Text editor: Atom
  • Custom game engine (text graphics): Terminal Play

I’m in!

This is my 3rd Ludum Dare.

I’ll be using:

Unity 5.4.3

Pyxel Edit

Audacity

LETS HAVE SOME FUN!

Had you not said anything, I would not have known you were not a native speaker of English.

Yeeey happy new LD everyone!

Joining in for the JAM once again!

A team of 4 (now with individual accounts!):

-Albuixech

-Bigbugaudio  <- gotta love that name!

-Ionthas

-Xarras

Working with Unity, Photoshop, Adobe Flash, Ableton Live, and probably Computers in general.

See you soon!

I’m in! (and with a friend!)

Tally ho!

I’ve returned for my seventh Ludum Dare and, ooh isn’t this an exciting one? A new site! Fancy that!

So much in my life has changed since the last one. I’m now a student, living in digs and living it up. I’ve acquired new skills and met new people. Life’s good!
The one thing I haven’t done, is learned Unity yet.

So, like I say every time, it’s back to using GameMaker Studio. I have, in fairness, begun to learn the ins and outs of Unity, but not enough yet to make something substantial. Next time, I swear it.

Joining me, is my friend, SmartWilliam, artist extraordinaire. We collaborated last time and it went swimmingly, so this time it’ll hopefully be even better!

I am super hyped for this one, since I’m living alone now I might stream it! Then as soon as the Ludum Dare is over, I’m going home for the holidays. Very happy.
Good luck, and see you all tomorrow!

Here’s a terrible graphic that I didn’t make, rather it was made using a generator:

I’m in! Ya know if school doesn’t kill me first

Well I was all excited for this LD until I found out I had a 5 hour AP English study session tomorrow. What kind of world is this where we are required to do school on weekends! Anyways, I’m in if I get all my work done.
Using:
Unity (probably)
Gamemaker Studio (if I don’t use Unity)
Audacity for sound editing
LMMS if I get around to music making
Inkscape, Krita, and GIMP for image editing
BFXR for sound effects
Blender for 3D stuff

Good luck to y’all! Get ready to fire up your code editor’s and coffee pots!

Im IN !!

This time will not be like the first one, excluding excitement and desire… I’m ready ^^

I’m in!

Let’s do this. I’m back by myself this year, after the disaster of trying to work with other people last time (who needs ’em anyway?). Everyone vote for “Save yourself, not the world” by the way. I have a great idea for it.

USING:

  • Unity (so original)
  • Paint.NET
  • Visual Studio

I’m in!

Third time’s a charm.

Awesome! I’m using it for my stream!

I’m in!

Alright, I’ll be participating for the 3rd time!
I’ll be going for the same tools as previous times:

Engine: Unity
Graphics: Aseprite, Photoshop
Audio: Audacity, EnergyXT

Good luck and have fun, everyone! :)

I’m in, I’m in, I’m really really in

Cosine here, back for my 6th LD. I’m in! (< title context) Last time I had to leave on Sunday so I never got to finish. I should be free for most of this weekend though!

I’ll list the tools I expect to use, but it’ll probably end up being different. After all, last time I planned on using phaser.io but ended up using vanilla SVG. And the time before I was going to use phaser.io and I ended up using vanilla javascript+canvas. This was because I had an idea for a game, that would lend itself better for that platform. I think that’s the best way to do it! Honestly at this point I’m decent enough at learning platforms and horrible enough at all my platforms that I can even pull off using a whole new platform if it works best for my idea.

But I suspect that I will use:

  • Phaser.io
  • Flask web server
  • Testing with Firefox

The tools I’ll almost definitely use are:

  • Photoshop + Krita (Actually my photoshop is looking a little corrupted so maybe just Krita)
  • Atom (fight me ok?)
  • Github (Gotta have that source control!)
  • Bfxr, Adobe Audition (maybe? Possibly audacity because… corruption, as I said)
  • Tenor Saxophone, Piano, and Hammond Electric Organ, doing my own music now that I have a mic (Yeti Pro) Hammond electric organ

Also taken right off google images. I’m writing off my laptop; pictures are hard, ok?

    Tenor Saxophone

Gotta practice for band anyway, so I’ll probably record my band pieces.

Two times ago I took a really simple concept and juiced it, but I fine-tuned too much. This time I’m gonna try to do the same, but instead of fine-tuning, adding particles and persistence and juice it to the jazz.

And last time I had a great idea, but the math got a little bit… woozy. I’m gonna try to really get down the idea again. I even gave up my first idea.

Team RocketDad is In!

We’re back and super excited to be able to participate again!

Team RocketDad is:

Josh/MaggardJosh  – Code
7th LD
Twitter: @maggardJosh
Twitch: MaggardJosh

Dan/DankOvens – Code / Art
3rd LD
Twitter: @dankOvens

Denver/screamrawr  – Art
4th LD
Twitter: @DenverSkyline
Twitch: artcode

We are super pumped to be able to all work together again and can’t wait to see what everyone else makes!
Our goal for this round is keep the game as simple as possible so that we can polish it as much as we can.
But isn’t that the goal every time?
Yes! But this time we’re gonna try really hard.

Tools:

Unity
Visual Studio
Git with GitKraken
Crocotile 3D
Photoshop
Aseprite
BFXR
FL Studio
GifCam
Chronolapse
Coffee, lots of it

Good luck everyone! <3

Im In

Been a while since making a game, so using this jam as a refresher being I’m a little out of practice. Going to try for the Compo but will most likely end up doing The Jam.

Tools:

Unity 5.4

pixel art (if time) – Photoshop

music (if time) -Sonar Artist

I’m in! :D

If everything goes well this will be my 12th submission. I was out on a trip last August and couldn’t enter the compo, so I’m back with a vengeance :)

Toolset:
  • Tech: I’m undecided as always, so it’ll depend on the game idea I come up with. Guess I’ll probably stick to Haxe+Flixel, or Unity/C#.  I’ve spent some time toying around with Game Maker as well, but with the time limit I believe I still need more practice until I can take proper advantage of it instead of fighting it to bend it to my rigid programmer-oriented mindset. I’m also curious about HTML5 development and would have liked to practice a bit with Phaser, but at this point that’s a super risky choice.
  • Art: GraphicsGale or Aseprite + Photoshop + Inkscape + Texture Packer.
  • Audio: [Labchirp|Bfxr|Jfxr] for sound creation,  [Bosca Ceoil | BeepBox.co | Caustic 3] for music and Audacity for general-purpose editing.
  • Level editing (if necessary): Tiled, probably.
  • Planning: Trello. I’m not sure if it would be interesting to track the time I spend on each area (or procrastinating), in which case I can give procrastitracker a try.
  • And, of course, good ‘ol pen & paper.

Good luck to everyone!

Just make sure to keep your scope reasonable and you’ll do fine :)
