I’m in (we, really)

Hey there! Fough here!

So, just a short post to say that I’m in with my old partner Gwen. And boy am I psyched!

I’ll try not to drop out mid-way this time. I’ll focus on what matters and, above everything, I’ll play it safe by not trying to explore anything I don’t already know.

We’ll be using Game Maker Studio, Aesprite, Photoshop and BFXR.

Can’t express how glad I am of entering again. Need a break from the industry, and Ludum Dare’s the stuff. GOOD LUCK EVERYBODY! LET’S MAKE GREAT GAMES! (at least, let’s make games.)

I love you all.

I’m in!

Having skipped the last few LD I really hope to make a game in this one =D

depending on the idea i’ll use

libgdx+java+eclipse or unity+c#

programs:

gimp, blender, inkscape, audacity, bfxr, FL Studio

I’m in, let’s do this

This will be my first time using Unity (just the 2D), so the game will be available to play in the browser!

I’ll be streaming over at https://www.twitch.tv/sub_strate

If you want to see my game from LD32 (theme was “An Unconventional Weapon”), you can play it here: http://domgetter.github.io/dare/ld32/isolation.html

I’ll consider it a success if my game has sound this time!

Good luck, and have fun everybody :)

I’m In

First time Ludum, I am very exited to participe in this event.

Tools:

  • Unity3d 5.3.2
  • Visual Studio 2015
  • SourceTree with GitLab

Hello World

Hello!

I’m In

I’m yet again in for another fun time. I’m not sure how much I’ll post around here, but I’ll try for at least the first few hours.

For development, I’m probably going to go with HTML5/Javascript. I’ll use audacity and paint.net if I need to edit pictures or sound. Text editing will be done in notepad++, testing mainly on firefox (for development)

I hope everyone has a good Jam/Compo!

This time my friends, this time!

Hello my friends!

I’ve been struggling to participate and finish a playable build for ludumdare since 3 years. Yeah I know, 3 years right. Not that bad actually, I’ve failed in LD28,LD32 and LD33, so only 3 attempted failures.

I took the new webpage as an opportunity, a new, fresh start you may say.

This time, maybe , may be the first time ever, I may be able to finish a build and rock the internets.

Weapons of choice: Unity3d, photoshop, BFXR, Maya(if I go nuts and try to make a 3d game, which also means another failure).

Hopefully, see you on the other side.

Yep I’m in

I’m thinking I’ll be using flash stuff for this, but who knows what ideas may come up.

p5.js experimentation/prep = code for all

After using Unity for most of our more recent entries, I’m considering trying something simpler out this time, and just a few days ago I found out about a JavaScript framework called p5.js, which is basically a JS port of the Java framework Processing, in case anybody’s familiar with that. It makes it simple enough to draw things and play sounds in the browser in no time.

In order to learn how to use it and to get some fundamental stuff going (animated sprites, for example), I wrote up a few JS “classes” today. I’m still not sure whether I’ll be using p5.js at all, but in case somebody else wants to use my boilerplate stuff, feel free! c:

A glorious demo (live [warning: thunder audio at the beginning]: http://formo.ninja/LD37/test/):

Fundamental files:

Less interesting but perhaps handy…

You’ll need to tie it up yourself, but I’m sure you can figure it out. The sprite and animation classes want an object from loadImage() and the animation requires a delta time, which you can calculate easily by using millis(). Animation class in particular is a bit tricky perhaps, with a bunch of settings, so read the comments in the file.

Inward!

I’m probably going to do the Jam this time, as I really want to use the Unity plugin I’ve been working on this year. It is called NeoFur and it makes really lovely furry / carpety / wiggly surfaces.

I’ve been helping port it to Unity, but I haven’t had a chance to use it in my own creations yet. Here’s a furry cube with some force applied:

Other than that, I’ve got my usual tools I might use at https://github.com/Kharzette/LudumDareStuff, as well as Unity, Maya, 3DCoat, BoscaCeoil, and the mighty RenderDoc.

Okey this time a i’m travelling in Helsinki, but i will have some time to do something small, but interesting i hope. Good luck to everyone!

My first Ludum Dare

Hello fellow Jammers!

I’m so excited! This is the first time I have both time and employer approval at the same time!

I’m considering either Pixi.js or Unity3D as my platforms.

I’ll record a time lapse, and preferrably do the Compo rather than the Jam, but the jury is still out on this one.

This is also my first WordPress post in about a decade…

I will use unity3D, photoshop , maya, Audition

I want to practice by myself! THX

A computer.

StackOverflow.

I thinks this is my fourth LD, third to be submitted on my account, and probably 5th I’ve partook in to some minor degree.
