Just finished some important work …

… which means that I have time for this stuff.

It’ll try to participate for the first time. I hope that I’ll have a good idea that is doable in 48 hours.

Language: C#

Engine: Unity3D

IDE: MonoDevelop

Graphics: Photoshop / Blender (if I create something 3D)

Sound: sfxr / abundant-music.com

3rd Party Resources: Red Bull, Junk Food and Cigarettes

Have Fun and Good Luck to everyone.

Just submitted my entry …

It was my first time participating and I’m happy that I created something that at least works. It showed me, that I’m not that good with Photoshop 😉

Bi-Bob Screenshot

Doesn’t look good, but it works. It was intended to be a bit longer but I hindered myself with nonsense.

In “Bi-Bob” you control one person in two different worlds. The two worlds have some similarities but big differences as well. With the character of one world, you can affect the other world and you need to do this to progress. On the way to the end two stories are told.

Give it a try, if you like.

It was fun working on it and I finally took my first steps in the 2D Area. I learned something, which is all I wanted to do with this project.

Good Night and Good Luck to everyone in the rating phase …

I’m in!

I had to skip the last two Ludum Dares because of work. Now this Ludum Dare incidentally falls into my vacation, so I thought: “Why the hell not?”.

I’ll use the following tools:

Programming:
Engine: Unity3D
IDE: MonoDevelop
Language: C#

Graphics:
3D Models: Blender (if I even do a 3D Game and need more than cubes or spheres)
Sprites/Textures: Photoshop / Spriter (In case I’ve to animate stuff)

Sound:
Music:  isTime ? LMMS|Bosca Ceoil+Audacity : cgMusic;
SFX: SFXR/BFXR

Now let’s do this!

Have Fun and Good Luck to everyone!

I’m in … maybe.

After a work week with an important deadline to meet, I’m super exhausted and not really in the mood of programming. I will try to participate, if my brain is able to come up with a good concept for the theme. I just hope that people will vote for an exciting theme that gives me a bit of motivation; Nothing is better motivation than an awesome vision to realize.

I’ll most likely use Unity3D for simplicity and some of the default tools to create assets (Blender, Photoshop, SFXR, Audacity etc.)

Anyway, I wish everyone an exciting, productive, successful and nice weekend and of course the best of luck. Let the games begin!

It is done …

I just submitted my entry. There are still 1.5 hours left but I’ve to get up in 4.5 hours to go to work, so I better go to bed now.

The visuals are not that great but I believe it’s fun anyways. I hope you guys like it.

Good Luck Everyone …

Cross Platform support and playthrough on YouTube for my entry

Since I was working this week, I had not much time to compile for other OS or edit a playthrough of my game. It’s weekend now, so I updated my entry a bit.

I added compiles for the Unity Webplayer, Linux and OSX (untested), so everyone can play the game. It always had a WebGL version but I like native versions more (especially because you can rebind the buttons in the launcher).
I also added a playthrough, which was a bit of work because my game is rock hard (intentionally), so I had to edit out all my fails. I added a level selection at the beginning of the Video, in case you are stuck and want to see a specific level.

If you rather want to play than watch, please do so here: http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-34/?action=preview&uid=39869

I also wanted to add a timelapse of the creation process but smart me went outside for a cigarette, paused the video recording and never started it again.

Ludum Dare 37

That was quite a ride …

Nothing worked as planned this time.

First one of my screens broke, so I had to do everything on one screen. I’m totally not used to that and it made things really complicated.

I had no idea what kind of Game I would create for the first hours. I think I decided on a concept about 18 hours in. In the afternoon today, I ran into problems and my concept didn’t really work – I created too many sloppy workarounds, which made my game unplayable. I had to change my concept but tried to keep as much code as possible. I managed to finish the game but sadly without sound or music; also there are still some bugs I’m too lazy to fix, because I’ve to go to bed now. I’m happy that I’ve a playable result and I’m also happy that it’s over. If you like, check our my entry, but don’t expect too much 😉

I wish everyone good luck with their participation. I might not be satisfied with my game but I know that I’ll love a lot of yours!
