Agent Moloch, Undercover

Game title: “Agent Moloch, Undercover”

Idea:

Agent Moloch is on an undercover mission. He is an agent of Infernal Liberation Agency and his mission is to recruit as many souls as possible. Even though his intentions are good, he must remain undercover and recruit souls only one at a time.

Gameplay:

You play as Moloch and you need to find lonely people on the streets. You offer them something they want and they will follow you. Then you go somewhere away from people and consume them. If you are seen offering something by an outstander, they become suspicious. If you are seen consuming someone, people come even more suspicious. After enough suspicion you’ll lose your cover and the mission has failed.

There’s still a lot to do but I’m sure I’ll finish the main gameplay mechanics in time.

Moloch rises

I’m done! That is I have finished working, but I don’t really have a finished product.

The basic mechanic works*, the game ends in two conditions (win and lose) and the graphics are beautiful.

But it only has one map, tons of stuff to implement and feels very unfinished. What matters is that I learned a lot from Unity and I had fun.
Huge thanks to bradur who basically knew everything I asked and helped immensely!

I have a short video on the previous post. I won’t post another one since it didn’t change much. Here is the previous post: http://ludumdare.com/compo/2015/08/23/agent-moloch-undercover/

And here’s the entry http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-33/?uid=40135

My heart is on the way

I’ve been doing this without any major stops for at least 7 hours. It’s going better than I expected and I’ve made a lot of progress. But I’m still not sure if this is an actual game or just some interactive thing… I guess I just have to make it challenging and fun somehow!

This time I actually have the rules and UI elements in my game.

Rules and basic gameplay elements

Casual Shapeshifting

I’m done! I finished!
I made a shapeshifting simulator where you have to micromanage a transformation.

I’m in! ETERNAL REPENTANCE

Hi,
I’m super lazy making posts. Anyway, for visibility, I’m in! 😀
I worked fairly hard throughout the weekend. It’s not 3am and I have to work tomorrow.

I’ll upload the game in a second. Windows and WebGL only, I can’t really test anything else.

What sleep?

Ready to jam with the new site. We made tons of pizza and there's still time for 4 hour sleep in theory... Glad to see the page finally starting to be functional!

Diggin' Gold

I thought I'd make a game about a small "world" of a rural wild west town. Your objective is to mine as much gold while using the town services. But you must be discreet because the people are very envious and they don't like strangers... I drew a quick mockup and I'm probably sticking with the graphics unless I have time to draw better ones. https://puu.sh/vsmNZ/db730e3fa1.png Puush ruined the colors on that screenshot :(

No sound

I'm pretty much done. I don't really have more time to add any audio, so it's going to be a bit boring experience. I still have to do some testing and building. There's a bug in the Unity WebGL build that I can't fix. I might have to axe that as well :(

I'm in!

I recently made a Pico-8 game on toasty's great miniLD back at the old site. I wasn't going to make one now, but I have a perfect idea for it and couldn't think of anything else. It will be a blaster master kind of game but way more simple where you need to find batteries for your mech.

Development on Pico-8 feels so fast and natural, so I should get a lot done. But I haven't made anything this complex with it before... Progress so far: PICO-8_0.png

11 hours in

I woke up about 11 hours ago and I think I've done a lot so far. I think I have enough graphics for basic gameplay, some sound effects and some platformer/shooter mechanics. Here's my progress: PICO-8_0.gif

Before the next project I have to read some tutorials on how to keep the code clean and easy to manage. It's getting really messy... And I can't concentrate. Maybe I'm too happy with my progress, maybe I'm just oo tired.

I'm finished and so is the planet!

I'm done with my entry. I submitted it and seems like the source code link is not showing up... Oh well, maybe it will, eventually. I had lots of fun, learned a lot and didn't sleep much. Can't wait for LD40! Anyway, check my game out! PICO-8_0.gif https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/39/alien-invasion

Why don't you try racing?

Takes 5 minutes of your time. Unless you suck! :smiling_imp:

I'm in, hopefully finishing as well

I end up making pico-8 games on LD for some reason. Last time I started my code too messy and didn't have the willpower to finish it. Now I'm trying to make it a bit better.

I'm going to make a shoot'em up game where the carrier ship sacrifices fighters to bring down the abominable cucumber cthulhu monsters!

I made it! 5 hours left before work

I was so close to giving up, but I figured I don't need the sleep that much. My game "Undead car" is a zombie shooter game that was way over scoped. Too many team jams messed up my scoping skills I guess. So glad what I managed to create though :) UndeadCarTitle.jpg
