In!

I had two unlucky failures in last LDs, but now I’m determined to succeed. Will be using my own engine (http://code.google.com/p/quibble/source/checkout) or Unity if I decide to do something 3d. I’m also considering learning something new, like Haxe, libtcod or rot.js, but it’s probably wiser to stay away from new stuff. Did I mention that I want to make a roguelike? It will depend on theme tough, not a roguelike is also possibility if I come up with a good idea.

Spells of mass destruction

So, my game is finished!

I wanted to make a roguelike for a while now, and finally I did thanks to LD. Compared to my other LDs/GameJams this one has massive amount of code. This is expected, as I didn’t have to worry about graphics/sound too much. In general, I’m very happy with the game. It is quite difficult, as a roguelike should be – I win maybe 10% of time. What I don’t like, is that sometimes level generator produces what seems to be impossible to beat levels. Well, I put something into the later part of the game to offset this a bit, but I won’t spoil it anymore.

I feel really tired now.

Hey!

Obligatory “I’m in!” post here.

I’m very excited to participate for the fourth time now. Will try to put my life aside for the weekend and make something resembling a game. For the tools, besides the usual image & audio software, I will be using either my own 2d engine from here: http://code.google.com/p/quibble or Unity. That mostly depends on if I want 3d game or not.

Good luck everyone!

I’m in

Hey everyone,

Once again, I can’t miss this special weekend. I’m not too concerned about the tools, it will be either unity for 3d game or my own engine (http://code.google.com/p/quibble) if I come up with 2d game idea.

Yes, I’m in

Haven’t participated in a while! I’m going to a local GameJam type of thing in the weekend, so I don’t know yet if I’ll be doing this by myself or together with someone. Anyway, I will be using my own rusty and outdated engine most probably: https://bitbucket.org/mitkus/quibble. Or Unity, if the game is in 3d.

Speigas

I have my basic unit moving around nicely. Now onto some opponents for him!

Tank on a hex grid

Done.

Phew, this was a hard Ludum Dare! Sunday evening and today I got quite stressed about not being sure if I can finish the game, and it didn’t help that I also had to go to my day job. However, I’m very  happy with how the game turned out, I think it’s my best LD game yet.

Please try it here and tell me what you think! http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-35/?action=preview&uid=12293

In I am

What a perfect time for another LD!

Not too long ago I’ve started working on a new little game engine, but it’s not ready to LD yet. Perhaps next time.

So I’ll choose one of these tech options, depending on the idea I’ll get:

Pico-8 if my idea seems simple enough

– Unity if I want to make 3d game

My rusty old engine for more complex 2d game

Other than that I like to use Paint.net for graphics and Audacity for sound. And I have no clue about music!

Good luck everyone!
