I took part in some game competitions but this is my first time in Ludum Dare. I’m working alone and I chose Compo.

There is power failure in your company and it’s completly dark.
You can’t see anything..
If only You had little light..
Oh yeah nice to be addicted to cigarets.. you got the lighter.
Hmm..
A good chance to kick some assholes from your job without being noticed..
Yeah.. let’s see what’s up in testers room..
Yesterday I felt bad about missing deadline of compo.. thinking that I would need just 1 hour more. Today I feel happy about all the upgrades I could make in extra 24hours and join the jam! Finally done.

If You would like to spend some time making revange on your bosses, managers, testers, sysadmin etc.. do not hesistate to play!

Conclusions from results and comments:
See you next LD!
This is my second LD. In Poland was about 3AM when the competition started so I just check theme, make a brain storm in bed and start the day with Ludum Dare.
Theme ideas:
1. Save your garden from the moles that should stay beneath the surface.
2. Zombies are going out from the graves on cemetery, keep them beneath the surface of a ground.
3. Fight for quilt. You must stay beneath the surface of a quilt. -But I’m not sure, is the ” beneath the surface of quilt” correct phrase in English?
Technology:
That’s my second LD. I was so tired and sleepless by reaching the compo deadline that I forgot to make a post about my entry. I made a kind of shooter, a ‘kind’ because you will control a small army of archers and catapults. All graphic was made from simply unity3d primitives. So here it is :
Defend Your Kingdom
You are in times when legends are reality, your medieval companions and yourself have to defend the realm from evil.
The earth cracked open and demons started to crawling to the surface.
You and group of knights you’re commanding are bounded to stop them.
Protect the kingdom from demons coming forth! Keep them beneath the surface so that no poor soul get devoured!
Your army:
Hordes of demons trying to reach the surface:
Single catapult witch archer:
I appreciate any rates and comments!

Description:
You have to send special signal to make connection to another planet.
Signal is a result of adding multiple lasers with different colors (RGB).
Lasers beam are created from generators(flying balls).
You can apply specific color to generator using crystals and your laser.
Your task is to prepare your SIGNAL similar to TARGET signal.
To change target, press [space].
Gameplay:
I started with idea of making 3d “laser and mirrors” type of game. Where you would have mirrors with different colours, and your beam react different on each one. I even succeed but find it very difficult to control beam direction. After fighting 1 day to make it enjoyable I dropped it. Finally I ended up with concept of split colour to R G B code and make objective to generate given colour (RGB code) to connect to another planet.
Graphic:
After last LD where I fight a lot with creating graphic by my own, I decided that next (this) LD I will start in jam. Possibility to use already created assets so I could spend few hours on creating effects, or level design and then focus on gameplay was good decision.
Audio:
First time I used electric guitar for sounds effect and I’m very happy of it. I planned to spend more time on recording audio, but because of loosing time on first idea that I dropped I could use only audio that I recorded for tests. Anyway final result is ok, and I’m sure I will make something better next time!
Evolve:
I’m thinking about possibility to run over planet, explore new crystals and then prepare special signals. Then each signal could create something, or make special attack for different targets.
Do not hesitate to try!

This is my fourth LD. I’m still not sure if I’will take part in compo or jam.
Technology:
I finished my game just before submission hour . Well it’s not a real game, but more like a little fun for all the guys who don’t like the theme. Or maybe the real story of all the strange themes? Who knows 😉

I made a fast RTS game when you are pissed off zombie who have enough of “zombie killing” games.
Gameplay:
At the beginning you own cemetery, which is a spawn point of your army. Every seconds your army is bigger and bigger.

You can’t wait to long, your opponent’s army is also growing. So you should find a weak spots and attack him.

If you kill all enemies from their spot (like base camp), all the graves that are near the base start to spawn zombies. You must think which spots you should take first.
Your opponent are sending troops to your main base, so it might be require to sacrifice some bases, and rescue another spawn spot..

Graphic:
This was the first time when I made pixel art, and I’m satisfied with the effect. I have used piskelapp and it was very easy to use for me.
Evolve:
I like the final effect so I think about developing more content to this game. This is not a game for a big fun after 5 seconds of play. You have to try it few times, to find out good tactics. User learn the game from every play. I’m not sure if it works while ludum dare, so I think about making a user guid or adding some helper on the first levels of the game.
If you are a fan of RTS do not hesitate to try!

Game was inspired by a history of suicide torpedoes https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaiten :
Kaiten (回天, literal translation: “Return to Heaven”, commonly rendered as “turn of the Heaven’s will”, “the heaven shaker”) were manned torpedoes and suicide craft, used by the Imperial Japanese Navy in the final stages of World War II
The Torpedo model was done as a replica of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaiten#Type_1

The Battleship model was done as a replica of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Nelson_(28)

When you generated levels literally from a code, and you realized that your game became a hipster IDE.

I called it debugger, although now it looks for me more like a drunk programmer simulator.
The goal is to climb to the top before the red line or you will stuck in the infinite loop.

Game level was created literally from the game code, and you can create your own levels (from your codebase or any text).
If you have a horrible piece of code to walkthrough, that might a tool for you!

How another bug in my game punished them for cheating, and throw them out of the level:

I like to think that these both are features ;-)
