First Ludum Dare

I spontaneously decided to enter Ludum Dare #21 after waking up (that’s when I get the best ideas).

This is my first time and I hope to produce something playable, as well as having a lot of fun ^_^

I’ll be using Java, all from scratch. Probably my first mistake =p

bfxr.net for sound, if I even have time to implement any.

Let the Games Begin!

Screenie

Controls done and working (with scrolling background ^_^). I did it all from scratch and I’m amazed how far I’ve come in only three hours.

You have to control two spaceships, at the same time  (with a twist).

ps. beware my graphics

I’m In

This will be my second time, #21 being my first one. I will be busy on Saturday and I’m on a slow laptop with an unnatural keyboard but I’ll definitely manage to make *something*.

I’ll be using pure Java without any libs. Here’s the tiny (tiny tiny) framework I have from last time.

Good Luck to all, hope to see you on IRC~

Introducing: UltraRealistic Moon Wrecking Ball Simulator

Finished! ^_^

Only had a day for this one but I think my graphics are quite… stunning:

and a screeny showcasing my realistic hand-crafted 100-line-of-code physics engine:

I’m off to bed, best of luck to everyone! Very excited to see the other entries!

Enjoy! / zirconcode

Once more into the…

Third time. I’ll be using Java, perhaps libgfx with the bullet engine if I manage to get either one working, otherwise I’ll fall back on my old basic applet.

Bfxr for the sounds, gimp for the ‘art’. Expect greatness!

Edit: ….and I’m out. Something came up, did not get any time on the weekend. Alas, I will try again =(

LD33

Let’s do it!

Two LD’s a few years ago, wasn’t able to participate once more until now. Since I seem to be the only one who hasn’t  touched Unity yet I’ll give it a go, my only regret being having to use Windows to develop. I’ll probably run into a lot of small annoyances but I expect to create some form of interactive modern art, of course. One more hour, 3am, let’s do this!

Follow Up Edit: Unity was too heavy for my laptop so I went to learn libGDX instead, then RL got in the way a few hours later and I ended up having a total of 3 hours or so in learning a new engine. Had I known I would have had so little time I might have made a quick JS game or so, perhaps next time…

LD35

Third try is the charm?

Let it be so!

Signing in with home-cobbled Java, mouth-made noises, and programmer *cough* art. Time to add to the world’s knowledge of insanity~

Done!

I only had around 10 hours due to unplanned circumstances, but I managed to create *something* in any case. I definitely wish I could have had time to create some clever levels or have a player shape editor or something like that, but the mechanics are solid and that’s good enough ^^

Will do a post-mortem tomorrow~

We’re In

This time I dragged a friend in with me 😉

Poor soul…

He will watch in madness as I use: https://github.com/ZirconCode/BasicGameApplet

And GIMP… or something like that…

edit: Strike that, on a whim and little time it will be Love2D and some of rxi’s cool looking stuff

We're In (late post)

Me and two friends are in and the new site looks very crisp ^_^

We're also short =(

We voted lots but we're still short on ratings, so I'd like to take this opportunity to present a probably somewhat mostly fine game: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/asgard-invitational

Pls <3 (it has particles weee)

We're In!!

Me and a colleague are in for the third time, I'll probably use Love2D again since it was so easy to learn last time and surprised me with its capability. We're In!!! Let's go <3

Need some Love for a Love2D Game

We got to rating late this time around, but we're still hoping for those 20 ratings ^^

Post yours and I'll rate it, it's busy comfy Christmas time, I hope everyone is sitting at a fireplace with a cup of tea with their favorite book =)

Ludum Dare 45

Let's gooo!

I've lost count but I'm back at it, also I refuse to post a screenshot of my votes. The new site seems to be working so well, I remember the first switch and the supporting pov thing, this outcome surpasses what most of us wished for I believe. The existence of this community makes me happy. Let's go make some awful/awesome games and rejoice!

Godot or Unity?

I'm In!

Haven't tried either for more than a day and will learn one, I suppose it will depend on my game idea.

Ludum Dare 46

I'm in!

This time I'll not have much time and need to create on windows, so unity it is. The goal will be to see if I can make it produce an android app. Let the games begin!

Unity need help with building! =(

So I've only had this afternoon to make my game, and it's not masterpiece but hey it's my first unity escapade and it was fun. Well I went and made something playable, and now I'm stuck on exporting the game, which feels just silly.

I've figured out it remembers your last settings (why...), and disabled full screen and enabled the resolution dialog. However I have two questions: what is the resolution I need to get the same size I see inside of unity, and why is one scene enormous while in unity both scenes are the same size and aspect ratio? What? And google is failing me with a lot of irrelevant stuff. :worried:
