What's this? Isometric Tiling O.o
Looks like we are going for more of an isometric style. Let's see how this will turn out.

So took a bit of brainstorming but my idea is a frog adapting game!
You play as this frog, and the world's sea level is constantly rising to the point where you have no choice but to go under water.
At first you will have to manage moving around with air pockets and basic platforming but as you dive deeper into the ocean you adapt and obtain better easier mechanics!

So far so good, good luck to everyone in the jam!

A dwarf who goes Deeper and deeper to find better resources and bigger profits?
Experimenting a bit with Loading MagickaVoxel files into Raylib.
Seems pretty successful so far this late into the night.
Gonna start on the game part in about 4-5h ish for sleeps.

My idea is to create a space mining game, where you have to go to the depths of the universe for stuff. Also, Minecraft was born for this theme.
I came up with the idea of a descending platformer where the story goes "deeper" (obscure, personal) as the player descends into the earth. I'm using Construct 3 :raisedhandstone3:

I finally got an idea that is somehow related to the theme while still not being about digging. It would be a block based puzzle game where you have to debug a program. Every instructions would be a block, and there will be play/pause buttons so you can see the flow of the program. You'll have limited blocks like instructions or conditions and stuff to fix the bug.
A little mockup of how it will look like I think
The thing is, you will have to go deeper and deeper through various functions to find the origin of the bug hehehe
I'll probably do it on godot because godot is life.
Now I need to sleep, its almost 6 am here.
Good news! I have a title screen for my submission :) Gonna test it on a real NES, then I'll move onto drawing the assets for the game. I have a broad idea for the concept, but I don't wanna spoil too much ;)

Here's my first prototype! You have to get a spaceship to the core of the planet, and to do that you spin the planet with the arrow keys. But you have to go carefully because every hit your ship takes deals damage.

My friend @Charalian who was supposed to be making this game with me is unfortunately going through a bad case of brazilian internet, so he wasn't able to participate today. We're still not sure how he's going to help me without internet so... this may really not work out.
So I tried to make an FPS character controller, which I've done a million times but for some reason DIDN'T WANT TO WORK LITERALLY AT ALL AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA anyway
I'm gonna make a 2.5D platformer. The player was cursed by a witch to fall asleep forever. They're slowly falling into a deepr and deeper sleep, and need to stay awake with collectibles. Their goal is to find all the ingredients to make a potion that counteracts the effects of the curse. As you get sleepier, sheep monsters come in and attack you. The sleepier you are, the more sheep come out.
Deeper and deeper into sleep. :D

To try stay clear from the mining theme, we decided to attempt some sort of "inception" based level system. 2 hrs in and I have a very very quick and dirty prototype going.
What I have learnt:
Well, no time like the present!
I'm probably in for LD48. Ive got an idea I'm brainstorming, just uncertain if I have the energy for a full weekend of gamedev right now. The plan is to get the ball rolling though, and just see what happens.
So far, 2 hours in, I have completed my quick and ugly initial prototype scene (usually my first goal in a gamejam)

The idea of the game is simple: Youre a citizen in a 'tiny' city - youve been tasked with creating as much chaos as possible.
A bit of player control setup and camera work:

This time round I'd like to focus on fun since I dont feel like my past few games have been too fun to play - it doesnt seem to be something I prioritize often! Ive got a fast and fun gameloop in mind, with an emphasis on chaos & destruction which should even make dying/failing fun with minimal consequences. The main mechanic involves explosives and slowmo, so Im pretty keen to get that working asap.
Goodluck to everyone for their Day 1!
I totally forgot this was going until like an hour ago!!! I think I came up with a decent idea though and thankfully, quicker than usual.
It's Bathysphere time baby!!

The diver sinks to the bottom. Oxygen is running out. And there are many dangers below. Started to implement
Mankind's knowledge has been preserved by machines. Can you dig it?

The player now leans slightly when rotating. Also, destructible rocks! now I just need to add screenshake and particle effects, but that's a task for tomorrow... #LDJAM #ld48 #ludumdare

I hav idea of game based on showing level of person madnes level on face like it was in wolfenstein 3D and in 'CarmaGedon'. But you play as a child against priests.

It's MaricolouRs' first Jam as a team! We're done our brainstorming, and I'm super exited for the concept we've settled on - there's a whole lot to get done!
Game Jam 48, here we come!
