Im in i guess LD 48.

Wanted to try out my second jam but this time with way more expierence than my first try. Still not that good but i still want to try for fun and learning.

Either using Unity or JMonkey Engine, not sure which yet.

I've started streaming

I've set up a twitch and when the time comes I will put some LD shifts in. In the meantime I am interested in testing your prerelease games. I'll give honest feedback and try to offer as much value as I can. If that sounds like something you will find helpful hit me up. https://twitter.com/SelectorSoul/status/1379764435368165379?s=19

I'm in! What counts as "base code"?

Excited to participate in my 6th LDJam ever/in a row!

I'll be using Pixaki for art, Medley for music, and probably Love2D for code.

Question for y'all about the compo rule about allowing "base code."

Let's say that I have created a barebones game template/structure built with Love2D (simple top-down movement system, camera, inventory, etc.). Because I have. :-) Is that too much base code to use in the compo?

First ever even numbered Ludum Dare

I've participated in 3 Ludum Dares before but somehow, I've managed to miss all the even numbered ones. Assuming I don't get flooded with Finals work, which is very likely, This will be the first time I've participated in an even numbered Ludum Dare.

Looking for a team

I'VE ALREADY FOUND A TEAM

Hi everyone! I'm a concept artist and illustrator aspiring to work in the game industry. I thought that it would be a good idea to experience it first through a game jam, so here I am!

It would be my first time participating in this type of event or creating a game, but everyone has to start somewhere.

If you want an illustrator in your team you can answer to this post or talk to me through discord, my handle is Bode#6438

I'm in!

I'll be using Paint.NET for art, Bosca Ceoil or BFXR for sound, and I'll be programming in Java.

I've done a few of these before, but I often feel I run out of time too quickly. Hopefully a warm cup of tea (or a couple) will help me relax this time around. :P

Taking part in LD :)

I recently got a license for Construct 3 so I'll be using that for code. Aseprite of pixel art and BeepBox or LMMS for music and bfxr for sound effects! I am really excited for the jam as it's the first time I'll be able to make a good game, because last time I was a noob :p

LD48, here we come!

There are three constants in life: death, taxes, and gamejams. Looking forward to the next 48 hour session of sleep-deprived spaghetti code and the friendships that will follow :)

This will be my first time publishing a game since a total overhaul of my workflow. Among many improvements in audio quality and C# skills, I expect that my games will finally work on Linux and WebGL as intended. Still, anything goes, and I fully expect to face all sorts of unexpected challenges going into this project. I say... bring it on.

My expected toolkit:

  • Unity 2019
  • Blender 2.92
  • dsoft20's PSX Shader for Unity
  • Ableton Lite
  • GIMP
  • Overeager friends and a microphone
  • A desk and chair that can be slapped, punched, kicked, and brushed in hundreds of unique sound-affecting ways

Can't wait to get started. I won't make the best game, but I'll make something I can stand behind as a good attempt... and maybe this time it'll actually make some degree of sense.

Good luck to all participants!

I now accept donations!!!

Now, when you download my game, you can give me a couple of dollars for coffe! AnySimplisticCapybara-small.gif My games on itch.io: https://lisichkafarengeit.itch.io

ready for LD48

gonna make G A M E

Why not? Going compo :)

I resolved not to submit for compo a couple years ago, but here we are at LD48.

My plans rarely ever survive the theme drop; I'm currently looking to use

  • Unity 3D
  • Blender
  • Gimp
  • Music Maker JAM for audio

(though I may switch over to a web-based game instead of Unity, depending on what works best for the theme)

Best of luck to all. May the source be with you!

Looking for a team to participate. I'm Game Designer.

(I'm already in a team, thank you very much <3) Hi, I'm a first-year student of Game Design in Argentina, so if you are looking for someone that can help to organize all the ideas/concepts for a game, don't hesitate to talk to me <3 it's my first Jam, and I can speak English and Spanish (well, I don't know if my English is so good btw) Also, I know how to draw, nothing professional, but I can help artists in making sketches/concept art if they look too busy or if they only need help.

Obligatory "I'm In" (Or better yet: "I'm back")

Title says is best! I'm back, and I'm in for this Ludum Dare! It seems like I have a trend going of a year and a half between participations... Work and life always get in the way during the LD weekends. But I'm in this time, no promises on quality, but I WILL complete something on theme!

Tools: Unity MagicaVoxel - if 3d Aseprite - if 2d Audacity - if any audio editing is needed Some sort of Music Generation tool because I know nothing of music...

As usual tools may change if something else works better once theme is decided!

I'm so excited to get into this jam, it's been far too long. I'll be streaming over on twitch as well (@ReynaaFox), which will be quite interesting!!

I can't wait to see what amazing games come out of this LD!! Good luck to everyone who is participating.

Wikipedia Pathfinder!!!

Hello everyone. I made an app that lets you find the shortest route from one wikipedia page to another. Here's the video I made about it:

PS: I know this is not game development related, but it's about programming and the ludum dare website 2 weeks before the event is great advertising space

LD48 aka My first Jam!

After about 3 years of game development being an on-and-off hobby with, tbh, not as much to show as I'd like, I felt that I have enough skill and experience to finally participate in Ludum Dare, something that seemed unreachable even a few months ago. I was originally going to do the compo, however, after asking my cousin(who hasn't registered an account yet), and he agreed, I decided we should team up and do the Jam. Let's just say that I'm not the best artist haha. Software I plan on using are as follows:

Game design: IntelliJ IDE for Java development OR Fusion 2.5, whichever I feel when the theme is released Audio: Bosca Ceoil for music and BFXR or SFXR for in-game audio GFX: Paint.NET, or possibly Krita?

Despite the Jam's leniency, we still intend to create all assets within the 72 hour period. Essentially, I am holding myself to the same rules as the compo, just with another person to help out.

Just saw everyone else doing this as the date nears so I thought I would do the same. Thank you for taking the time to read, and have a nice day :)

This is the compo

Dec 1, 2008, is when i first made a Ludum Dare account, The theme that compo was Roads.

Compared to now where, my account is remade on this site.

The difference is 4511 days, 4 hours, 12 minutes and 17 seconds

Or 12 years, 4 months, 7 days, 4 hours, 12 minutes, 17 seconds

In that time, never have had the courage or wherewithal to actually make anything, much less a game. Sure i've researched, studied, written design docs and prepared myself.

This jam, i will upload something, even if i don't complete a game, or match the theme, or whatever.
