The last time I didn't take part to the theme suggestions, but this time I did (even if, as always, this is not especially good)

Some suggestions

Allow me to suggest the following themes : * You control the environment, not the character. * You are the sidekick. * Take advantage of the environment to help you.

the evolution of my themes

Less words, less typos, more space for interpretation.

Let's see, if those advices & suggestions bear some fruits.

Support war victims

Hello everyone. I repeat my previous post. Just a few words to say that on itch.io (the best platform for indie dev) a huge collection of games is available for 10$ (or more). This is a bundle in order to support Ukrainian people. Be cool supporting war victims - and play more. Take a look at the link below. The special offer is still available one day now. I wish you the best ++

Music composer looking for a team

Hi guys,

I'm a music composer looking for a team! Here's my OST portfolio: https://soundcloud.com/yukyt/sets/humanoide-short-movie-ost/s-rpN5XLY1ZjN?utmsource=clipboard&utmmedium=text&utmcampaign=socialsharing

*Hacker Noises* I'm In

As per usual I will be using Unity, Paint dot Net and Blender. Also as per tradition here are my themes I suggested. SubmittedThemes.png

I tried to go for themes that where very open to interpretation.

Blame me later:

  • Everything floats

Looking for a team

Hi my name is Corey, and I am looking for a team to make a game. I am 14 years old, and I have been making games in flash for about 9 months, now and I'd like to meet/work with people my age. My discord is shxdowCorey#5694 and my newgrounds is CoreyMcDonald. Thank you and I foward to working with you.

I'm in!

Let's roll the dice! * Golden * Half of a life * Layers

Always the player, never the dev

Well, this is the year. I've followed this for years. It's time. Now I think I have what it takes to participate. Its so exciting. These are my theme suggestions.

  • Infestation
  • Words have power
  • Blinded

I'll be using Unity, Aseprite and probably Little Sound DJ.

Good luck everyone!

I'm in. For real this time.

Last time my body decided to take my three annual high fever days on the exact weekend Ludum Dare was taking place. Not this time. I have officially denied a sick leave request and I am ready to make a game again.

As per usual, my tool lineup consists of:

  • :computer: GameMaker Studio 2 for coding
  • :musical_note: Ableton Live 11 and a bit of bfxr for music and sound effects
  • :paintbrush: Aseprite for slightly OK pixel art
  • :globewithmeridians: GitHub for code hosting
  • :notebookwithdecorative_cover: (NEW!) Notepad++ to actually plan things before implementing them

Yeah, I'm really starting to feel the hype building. I'll most likely stream the entire game creation process on my Twitch channel once again so if you have a few minutes, feel free to stop by.

In other news, my third party voting tool pyJAMa is getting a really nice GUI update soon. No more console hacker skill needed if you don't want to. But it's completely optional. If you like the hacker feel, feel free to keep using it.

Congrats, you made it through my post. Have my theme suggestions as a reward. For some reason the website wouldn't let me upload an image so have them in text.

  • It feels
  • Intertwined
  • Breaking through

See you all in two weeks. Good luck and have fun everyone :D

Blame me later

My proposed themes:

The rules page seems to be gone and gives a 404 error. Are there any rules about release platforms? I'd like to use a game engine I have been working on for a while now, but I can currently only make builds for Linux. I know that that will lock out probably 98% of the playerbase (or maybe less? Don't know how many game devs here run linux), but that isn't really my concern.

I'd be happy enough if I just managed to make a full game from scratch with an engine made from scratch :P

Greetings!

I see some neat theme suggestions being posted, thoughtful and open to interpretation. Hopefully mine are too :)

Every LD I've voted in, there's been a lot of theme suggestions focused on fast-paced action. I'd like to bring some balance to that, and add something that lends itself better to ideas for slower gameplay. Screenshot 2022-03-17 162659.png

I enjoy playing and watching games that make good use of flow, where one move leads smoothly into the next, and can create incredibly satisfying sequences. I'd love to see what everyone can do with it. Screenshot 2022-03-17 162714.png

Likewise, I'd love to see what people come up with for this one :D I think it can let players approach different games with a similar mindset, and still has good potential for variety. Screenshot 2022-03-17 162721.png

Let's make the themes interesting, and LD50 an amazing event :sparkles:

For the fourth time in a row. Looking forward to an interesting theme for this special 50th anniversary!

Using unity and blender, possibly audacity for sound.

Here are my suggestions. A bit inspired by current events perhaps, but I think games can sometimes help us explore or understand humanity. Or I hope at least they're good themes and open to some creative interpretation. I, for one, have always wanted to make a game full of robots!

I'm (hopefully) in!

Now that I've finally settled on a programming language, and framework, (Rust and Macroquad) hopefully I can join! LD 48 was a great jam for me, and I think I did really well! (The overall rating was #212 and Fun was #150 :D)
