Got My Gameplay and Model

Got my gameplay I'll show that when theres more too it, just taking a moment to show off my ratman character model, gonna rig and animate after some pizza

About Team.. stuff

To cut a Long story short, I searched online and found someone to join the ld 58 together, but today after the theme result getting published, we had a discussion and it didn't end very well. Anyway, we decided to split up into 2 teams to futher achieve our ideas, so me, 2 guys from the original team and some new friends we met online would need to form a new team, does this mean we need to do some changes on the website? Or is it that all we need to do is upload our product of "the new idea" with one of the new teammates account before the event ends?

First Game Jam!

Wasn't sure if LD58 was happening, but alas, here we are! Happy to get out of my comfort zone and super excited to see everyone's games at the end :Dphoto.png

About some team.. stuff

To cut a long story short, me and my team decided to split up into 2 teams after today's discussion on the theme. So now, me, 2 guys from the original team and some friends we met online today would need to form a "new team". Does this mean we need to do some changes on this website or maybe somewhere else? Or is it that all we need to do is upload the product of the new team say, by my account? (and add a note stating who are my new teammates maybe?). idk this is my first game jam ever, any help will be appreciated.

FINALLY A GAME CONCEPT

I FINALLY HAVE A CONCEPT I CAN BUILD OFF OF! :DDDD
Honestly, the wildest thing about this jam was that I had about 30 or so ideas, but turning them into something that's possibly fun, unique and with good push/pull and risk/reward was a bit more complicated than I'd thought. Anyways, the game is basically this: mindwave-cat.gif

P.S. play mindwave. cool game.

The lone plane

Hey ! It is my second Ludum and second year making games in unity, and this time i am participating with 2 classmates. Here is a quick preview of our idea and prototype (we found the model on sketchfab).Screenshot 2025-10-04 at 17.24.07.pngScreenshot 2025-10-04 at 17.23.35.png

LD58 - super basic gameplay implemented

Have a rough plan on paper. Relatively new to making games. Refreshing myself / catching up on Godot. Have implemented a basic gameplay loop.

LudumDare58_1.gif

Caps Mania. Ludum #58

I decided to make a game about chips/caps. The goal is to collect a collection of chips by winning or buying packs. For some reason, this idea seemed simple and interesting to me. Honestly, I'm already doubting my idea. :\ Depending on what the guys are doing, the idea and gameplay seem too primitive. But I'll try to make the game interesting.ScreenemRecording/em20251004em161004/emChromeem1/em1.gif

Brainstorm

imageem2025-10-04/em185608174.png

The concept is done, work is flowing and yet I'm still somehow brainstorming names. For some very interesting guys. Anyways, who are all of you doing? Locked in on the work I hope, I'm awaiting a beautiful variety of theme interpretations as usual!

first screen of whatever this is

scr-1.png

the time has come to make a silly narrative game. there is a plot about collecting too much i guess but the main draw is unhinged encounters with eccentric creatures

i've been sharing some of my hand-drawn artwork recently, and it's been well-received, so i thought i'd experiment with putting that style into a game

I'm struggling tbh

I'm having a tough time thinking of any further mechanics or obstacles I can add to my game, and I don't think I have enough mechanics or obstacles to make that many more interesting levels. The urge to quit is rising, but I think the smart thing to do for now is just step away from the PC for a bit and clear my head, rather than continuing to sit here spinning my wheels. I'll keep you posted.

Meet "Harvest of Wyrd"

Hello! 👋 We are a small team that has decided to dive into this game jam.

  • Me, Anna — game designer.
  • Vasily (@vvartism) — artist, responsible for the style and visuals.
  • Arkadiy (@arkadi-voronchenko) — Unreal developer.

And so we got together and decided to create a game called Harvest of Wyrd.

And the idea appeared not long before the game jam… First, I got hooked on Dome Keeper (I especially liked the mode without monsters!), and the "dig-risk-return" mechanic stuck in my head. I wanted to make something of my own with a similar cycle, but with more room for exploration.

Separately, for another game that was unfortunately abandoned, I was developing the setting of the magical prison called the "Source." It's a place where the very essence is drained from magical beings, and people use this "condensate" as resin magic. It's a magic-technology, the antithesis of complex and demanding natural magic. You just take the resin, enchant an item — and it works. Like electricity. Meanwhile, inside the prison itself, the inmates, merging with each other and the environment, slowly fade away, turning into monstrous chimeras.

When we saw the "Collector" theme, everything clicked! My collection mechanic, the prison setting, and the game jam theme fit together perfectly!

And that's how Harvest of Wyrd was born — a game about a resin collector who, along the way, grows their collection of artifacts.

Stay tuned for updates — we'll show the first sketches and concepts soon. And tomorrow, the first prototype will be ready.

Unreal.

И вот мы собрались и решили сделать игру под названием Harvest of Wyrd.

took me sleeping to realize im an idiot

spent like an hour last night fighting with a mesh collider, turns out i put a rigid body on the main level geo so it just refused to work, deleted the rigid body and now i can get back to level design

It's not going very good lol

But I am sticking with it! Even if I don't finish in time, at least I have something that I can continue to work on afterwards. ld58.png

The beginning of a new project

Hello everyone,

I hope you all had a wonderful start into the jam.

After some time for brainstorming, I came up with the following idea: - Theme: Bees - Game type: Pinball - Project title: Beenball

As usual I try to use the following schedule for the jam: - Day 1: Brainstorming and first technical stuffs - Day 2: Core Game, main features, Graphics... - Day 3: Polish, finalization and buffer time (although the last few years have shown me, that on that day there are still way more open points...)

This evening I will start with some technical stuff (Physics!) and I hope that I can show you some early screenshots. My engine of choice will be Godot again.

Finally I want to remind you: Don't overwork yourself and do breaks (this jam is about fun after all)!

Negativeself

Hello everyone! We're a team of five, thrilled to be participating in this Jam!

For half of us, including myself, this is our very first Game Jam—we're diving right in! Let us introduce ourselves:

@Sargenot - our talented 3D modeler

@Akailina - our incredible 2D artist

@DrEclair (that's me!) - the game designer and script writer

@Dorzon - our programmer, focusing on level design and architecture

@PROGMISTERIO - our other programmer, specializing in mechanical design and systems

Our game is called "Negativeself" and the team already has some early work to show you!

Here are some of the first 3D models by Sargenot: photoem5407033221012651532/emw.jpg

And a stunning concept art piece from Akailina: photoem5406688073145778054/emy.jpg

Looking at the arts for "Negativeself," can you guess the plot?

We'll be sharing some in-game screenshots tomorrow—don't miss it!

Progress are very slow

I'm working on a game where you have to handle the memory of a computer. But I'm tired and struggle to advance as I want. Will see if it's better tonight / tomorow ! Capture d’écran du 2025-10-04 19-35-20.png

1st DAY CHECKPOINT

Hey everyone! How are y’all doing?

!The first day is finally over — it’s been tough, but productive!

We’d love you to take a look at our character designs. The game design is still in progress, and we’re feeling excited, inspired, and full of energy!

Take care of yourselves and enjoy the creative process as much as we do. And don’t forget to get some good sleep!

Hi guys,

I'm still looking for 🎼 music composer 🎼 for 🕹️ Sinclair ZX Spectrum 🕹️. Music is intended to be played with BEEP commands and can have multiple channels. If you do not have 🕹️ Sinclair ZX Spectrum 🕹️ simple sheet music in pdf format will do.

Anyway, I wish you all great time during LD58! 💗

Fetching treasures

Now Chrystal has found treasures around the area! Let's find a better place to put it all. Progress is slow when you're learning, but it feels solid for now. I'm enjoying the ease of animating everything and making it feel alive.

LD58 - A C64 game - maybe?

Took way too much time to set up a proper wave system which controls a path system, which controls enemies, which are drawn by the object control.

For testing purposes there's two waves, a straight one, and one with a looping. The system allows me to offset them for even more surprises.

Unfortunately that means so far there is no other game play. You can control the player and his satellite drone, very similar to Wizball and Catellite. The idea is to shoot incoming waves, some of which will drop loot you need to collect with your drone.

Let's see how far I get tomorrow!

LD58_wip1.png

Progress of the first day

Heart.jpg Brain.jpg Day one is done — and the game’s heartbeat is already there! We’ve got a working gameplay prototype in Unity, our artist came through with some amazing mockups for the upcoming mini-games, and our composer dropped the first track that perfectly sets the tone for the whole project. The team’s in the zone — and things are only getting better from here 🔥

Returning to Ludum Dare

Hey everyone, it's been a while! My last submission was on my digivorix account back in 2023, but I've decided to return to using this one going forward. There have been times that I've planned to participate in jams, but never end up finishing my submission. Hopefully I'll complete something this time around :)

Not much

Didn't have much time, but night is coming and it is a perfect opportunity to work. Already made most of the tilemap and some character art. Still have not written a single line of code, but while the godot was updating managed to make this little mockup of how main game screen will probably look like. Wrong aspect ratio and lack of interface are not intended.mock-up1.png

Shooting for Progress

Our game has made some progress, I'd say. We went from this last night:

Screenshot 2025-10-04 161711.png

... to this today:

Screenshot 2025-10-04 161757.png

Building models, better lighting, a new custom skybox, a proper weapon model, the bullets no longer resemble orange tennis balls, and five levels of shoot-em-up action.

Searching for a Game Icon

Making sketches searching for a game icon, guess we're find our choice!

Pencil and paper process still feels like an "honest work" when comparing to the one-click AI generated solution...

Throwing away ideas

I've got two ideas the night after the theme announcement. I thought they were great. But I built a prototype for the first and it was really boring. The second one might be interesting but one can argue it is not a game, at least not in the way you would expect.

I try to be original but then just fail in frustration. I should come up with something simple and fun and create a game not experiment.

Giving it another try, wish me luck 🙏

Saturday night progress

I've gotten past my creative block and my carrot-collecting puzzle game is coming along nicely. There's a lot more sound and animation now--the bunny can hop, and can get stuck in holes, too:

video227.gif

Hang in there, little bunny!

I think this game will end up a bit smaller than my usual Compo entries, but hopefully a little more polished and bug-free. Let's see how much more I can get done before bedtime.

Looks like a start

Ok so it'll be a scroller, and the right side of the screen will be used for special purposes. I had a late start but I'm counting on my JavaScript spaghetti skills.

and I'm nowhere near where I wanted to be. I worked on the game mechanics and systems for the whole day and barely got them done. I spent the last hour in the evening just doodling and figuring out the art. Hopefully tomorrow I will have enough time for putting it all in, then sounds, music, and actually finishing!

Lots of progress today. The core game loop is in. Use your metal detector to hunt for treasure and sell it to buy upgrades. We're going for a relaxing vibe with the music with some Hawaiian and Jazz themes courtesy of @theoconfidor. Screenshot 2025-10-04 220903.png

These creatures are affected by spectral pathogens. You can help them out by shooting them with magic! :D As a token of their thanks, you will recieve a bit of their "bullets power" which you can then shoot at more affected creatures.

Day one progress

ezgif-5d919ee576caca.gif

My intention was to get the core game loop done by the end of day one, so I'd have all of day two to add content. Needless to say, that didn't happen, but at least the game has some nice tilesets.

I'm going for something that's NES-ish with the visuals - three colours plus transparency for the objects, three colours plus black for the tiles. I won't be sticking rigidly to the NES' limit of eight palettes, though.

We finally got a title for our game :)

Sprite-0003.png

Our goal for today was to get the basic movement done. Tomorrow we have to do the rest of the game, so we can polish on Monday.. Still quite some work ahead, but happy with the progress so far!

What We Carry at the halfway mark

Things have progressed very well. Probably the best game jam I've ever made and we still have 24 hours left!

Greenshot 2025-10-04 16.38.12.png

Day1 progress report!

this has been an interesting Jam for me so far, a real deep look into level design.

I have gone from a flat plane with 2 collectables and a moving character, to an entire level map, unlockable doors that need specific amounts of collectables to open, each area has a theme but has not been developed yet.

I have the grave yard intro, the forest floor, the haunted village, the corn maze, and the poison pit.

so far the grave yard, haunted village and corn maze have been touched the others are works in progress still.

the collectables are animated, the candies spin and have a cool texture, the little brothers are scaled down versions of the player with a little head wiggle animation.

right now it's ALLLLLL level design, texturing, placing objects and modeling.

overview.png little brother.png candy.png door.png tower.png bridge and maze.png

Progress of the first day

ldjam.gif

Might have put way too much time into building an environment to provide atmosphere in Godot but it was fun! Hopefully I get my gameplay loop done tomorrow. It's intended to become a card game. ^-^

Tapping Out

Damn, distracted by life stuff mid-jam and ive lost basically a whole day, and returning to my concept, I dont like it, best of luck guys, I'm out of the race

Lovecraftian Bailiff

image.png

A tower defense game, but you have to collect taxes first in order to set up the defenses.

Every night, the village is under attack by mysterious dark forces. As a newly appointed bailiff, you have to build shrines to protect the inhabitants of the village. The problem is that shrines require significant funds to be built, so you must collect taxes every day. And people do not like taxes. Ah - you’re also a beaver.
