Hello, I was wondering what those values were actually representing. At first I thought it was simply the number of ratings, but then it became a floating number. Also I have a pretty low amount despite having rated a bunch of games (and I left a comment on every one of them). I'm really not here for the win, but I would just like to understand how it all works (: thanks!
Turns out I made a teensy tiny mistake with my game Carrot Collector: I made the number of allowed moves for the final level too small, so the level wasn't actually beatable, and I somehow didn't notice. Oops!

I've updated the game to give the final level a larger number of moves, and it's definitely beatable now. I consider this a bug, and therefore fixable within the Compo guidelines. I have a couple of ideas for non-bugfix updates but those will be exclusive to the Newgrounds and itch.io versions.
See you at the weekend for my usual coding deep-dive!
Our original 72 hour game version is easily playable HERE
For us that was UI and an End Goal.

Our original version was lacking some consistency... and clear goals. But that didn't stop this community from giving us the necessary feedback to address it!
So 5 updates later.... alongside many various performance and collision fixes (all listed in the change log)
That being said it's not the easiest goal to achieve, when we say clean we mean it! WonderBot needs to pick up EVERYTHING. Every Pizza slice, plate, mug, box and book needs cleaned up!

So for those of you who played prior, THANK YOU! and for those of you just checking the game out now we look forward to your continued feedback!
Why not play our game now?

Changes:
1) now, at the end of the day, the monster layers are drawn correctly.
2) now, at the end of the day, monsters have eyes (it really sucks without them
3) The collected monsters now look normal (before that, their head was cut off from their body)

Sword Collector - It’s a deck-building game, but instead of cards, you have swords that have durability, and if you lose your weapon, you lose. Build combinations, strengthen your swords, and reach the end.
https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/58/sword-collector

Balancing a deckbuilder turned out to be far more difficult than expected. In genres with fixed actions, balance can be maintained numerically. In a deckbuilder, every new weapon, effect, or card instantly shifts the entire system. It makes the process both painful and fascinating — every tweak feels like surgery on a living organism.
Still, due to limited time, I couldn’t bring the balance to a proper state — but it’s already playable.
What do you think about game balance? Which genre do you believe is the hardest to balance?

In Colleccoon, you play as a raccoon carrying your family’s hopes, tasked by a weasel, a cat, and a mouse to infiltrate three different houses and collect all sorts of items!
Game Features:
Rich Collecting Experience: A huge variety of items await your discovery—track your collection progress anytime! 🕵️♂️
Interaction & Surprises: Interact with small animals around the city—many fun and unexpected encounters await you along the way! 🎆
Unique Tools: During your collecting journey, you’ll find special tools that can be equipped in four item slots—each with distinct effects! 🚐
Beware of Humans: Move quietly while exploring—avoid making noise that could attract human attention. If you get caught, you’ll be arrested! 👀
Hidden Ending: Beyond being captured or crowned the ultimate collector, there’s another ending that might just happen... though its chances aren’t exactly zero. 🔪🔪
This is our team’s first time joining a Game Jam, and we ran into some issues during the initial upload—but now the game runs smoothly on itch.io and Unity!
We’d love for you to try it out and share your valuable feedback! If you also took part in the jam, feel free to leave a comment below so we can check out each other’s games! Let’s play and rate every entry we come across!
