Ludum Dare 51 September 30–October 3, 2022

I made a game :D

Windy Mountain is out! I went slightly insane making it and it could have more content, but... it's done and I'm happy with what I have.

Switch Heroes is released!

It's a dungeon crawler where you switch between one of two heroes every 10 seconds.

You can play it here!

Good luck!

I hope all of you had as much fun as I did, even though I didn't finish everything I wanted to.

Day one for me

Since i realised ludum dare began yesterday, i realised that i need to work fast. In 10 hours i added: player movement, 4 enemy types, 3 hazard types, destructable terrain, 4 types of weapons, added soundeffects, polish, tiles, timer mechanic, health system and a leaderboard.

okay now i gotta go get some sleep

'Boss Wars' Finally Complete

BannerFlag.png 4f70e.gif

Alot of unreal blueprints, a lot of ragdolls, and a lot of headache but it's finally done. Check it out here! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/51/boss-wars

Short-Lived Survival

A resource-gathering survival game where the world resets every ten seconds. Make sure to get to shelter before that happens, or you're toast...

Viam in tenebris - Created in ~27hours - It took me really long to start

Joined in quite late because I couldn't come up with an idea.

Quite happy that I did find something yesterday night and proceeded to implement the main mechanics yesterday in around 4 hours.

Today was building the levels, menu, graphics and sound. As always, there's a thousand more things I would have liked to do but overall I'm quite pleased with the result.

In Viam in tenebris you have to navigate mazes in the dark. Every ten seconds a lightning bolt will illuminate the entire maze, so you can quickly memorize the correct path. But hurry up, the next time lightning strikes the maze will look different..

Game

Am I dumb? How to we start judging?

I have my game submitted. I go to other people's Compo games and I can't figure out how to rate them? Are we not allowed to yet? I can't find anything in the rules about this? When does judging start?

Wow Compo is Already Over

Can't wait to see what all the compo jammers were able to accomplish! We are done with the final boss of our game and now I have to go and implement the story mechanics. Our artists are chugging away and are getting close on art.

Whew, finally finished

I ran out of time at the end so I have no idea how well this game will do, or how buggy it will end up being Lol.

I just hope people think it's fun :)

First game finished!

Blobbbert_Title.png

While it's only 3 levels...Super proud of finally trying Ludum Dare. Got a fun concept in my head I wanted to try and I did it...GAH. So many things I would do differently, but finishing a game is something that's eluded me for 10 years, I almost teared up finally getting a completed project. Enjoy, and I don't apologize for the jank!

Six Shots Per Minuteman! I surived the compo!

Six Shots Per Minute Man!

This was a new type of game for me, since I've never made a top-down shooter before. Most of the first day ended up being spent getting the bullets to shoot straight. But once that was working, I could spend the second day on enemy AI and art. That's where it really came together!

I'm a big fan of my 10 second long reload animation. It's so stupid, but satisfying. Really, this whole project was an excuse to make a silly reload animation.

This was also my first time trying to make sound effects. I recorded a metal water bottle as my "musket", and then pixelated the sounds thru a retro filter. Same deal with the voice over (without the water bottle, of course).

Hope everybody else had a good compo! Tally ho, lads!

Disintegrate everyone!

Was not able to get it hosted here (I'm sure I messed up the settings) but happy to submit to LD after hearing so much about it and a good way to start Hacktober

Happy Jamming

Music Theming

My music was a tad off-theme for our game, but it leans into a clock sort of format so I'm happy
