This time around we did something completely new for our game Peter OS. We decided to make a game completely in UI, while none of us really have any serious UI experience. This eventually extended to having to write an entire mobile phone OS.

So we ended up thinking of something that had a little too big of a scope. Which meant we had to cut down a little bit on the eventual story we wanted to write. Oh well, Learned a lot from it.
How do you scope your game? How do you keep it simple enough for a game jam, yet at the same time interesting. I would love to hear from you all.
Started with a simple premise: "How accurately can you count to 10?”
Give it a try if you think you’d enjoy keeping track of time!

Right when the theme is announced, my team and I always enter a flurry of throwing out every ridiculous concept we can think of that's even semi-related to the theme. It's that part of the jam where anything goes, before the real down-to-business work starts, and it's one of my favorite parts. Here are a few of my favorites from the bunch this time:
In the end, we made something even crazier —
a net-enabled game where you make 10-second songs with other players!
Share your silly every-10-second brainstorm ideas, too!

It was our first time creating a rhythm game!
So if you like those, cute frogs or anything in between, give Bygone Melodies a try! :)

Team up with 3 friends on steam ! Kill, run and survive as long as you can to earn the best score !

https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/51/morbid-expeditionIn Void Well you have to climb up as much as you can. It's really interesting to see how far player can climb: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/51/void-well

In our game Peter OS you get to live as Peter, who has an active social life. Yet his phone is old and on the verge of crashing. Every 10 seconds he gets some kind of notification, but his RAM is filled up when he gets 10 of them. If you don't handle notifications well, then they might spam you even more.
Come play our game and leave yours below, so I can play them later tonight!
Well done to everyone who made a game this weekend. You all survived the crazy times and you all rock! ^^
We posted our game in the very last seconds of deadline which was very stressful XD It's a simple little game where you work in a soul-draining supermarket and your duty is to ring up the massive pile of items that will continue to appear every ten seconds. It gets worse very quick with broken barcodes, scanner malfunction and angry Karens!
Looks like there is another game has the same name as ours. So we are Groceries, Please1 lol
Good luck and have fun!

It was wild 3 days, but everyone in the team is really happy with what we managed to create!
Now, we can't wait to hear what you think about it.
You can try it out here, any feedback is encouraged!

Hey! How about trying to work your way to get off the island!

I've made a simple game but put a lot of effort and care into it. I'd love if you could try it out and tell me what you think of it! :)
