Infestation Eradication: Day "two" progress

  logo.png

It's day 2 of the jam, and I got started on my game! So like... it's day 1 for me. Social events kept me from starting on things yesterday, but thankfully I managed to get a text-adventury idea going today.

A few previous entries are definitely influencing this one, the lack of time is making me rely on things I have previously learned. That's not necessarily a bad thing I suppose.

My main worry is that I am still stuck fiddling with mechanics and actually playing the game might not be engaging--a constant struggle I always run into. I do have to work tomorrow, so there's really only a few hours left for me in the evening to slap things into shape. We'll see how that one goes! But now I sleep!

Done! finally...

I'm finally done with building everything, taking screenshots and uploading all the files. I think I'll use the remaining time to get a first glance at a few games. You guys have made some incredible stuff!

Good luck to everyone still working! You're almost there!

LD bugged and sent the post twice and I can't delete the second one so I just change a pic 1 (12).png

Progressing the Tiny Creatures.

BoyHutch0004.png

We've been making good progress, our tiny creatures and our player are mostly set up. There's even a fail state now. The tiny creatures are called the Boys and we love them.

Can't see my game in the published Compo games

I think I've published my game correctly

https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/56/finger-gun

But I'm not seeing it, even when I check the games in private browser mode.

Anyone know what's up?

hour and a half...

do i spend it trying to fix a clamping issue for some QOl, or quickly burn out a 3rd level

Player shadow

Added a shadow for the player so jumping is more fair.

RestaurANT is finished!

I did what I could to make my first game, it's not what I expected but I hope at least you like it!4.png

It's coming for you!

We're still an hour away from the deadline, and my game is ready!

Nomnoms is finished!

First time making something from start to finish in Godot.

It happens to be a survivor-like where you command tiny creatures that "nom" through everything.

Need more time

We get close to the end of the Compo and my game isn't ready... 😥

I give up and I would submit my game for the jam. Good luck to all those in the home stretch! 😘

Nearing completion for DeskBuddy!

We're currently polishing last details for DeskBuddy, to make your experience as enjoyable as possible!

My Buddy has gone to sleep! I hope the compo people manage to submit their entries before going to bed as well :muscle:

We'll be submitting ours tomorrow along with the other jam teams. Whether you have an hour or a whole day left, good luck to everybody :fourleafclover:

I'm in!

...yeah, I kinda forgot to say that. For like, the entire duration of the jam.

So yeah, I made a game. It's my first attempt at making basically anything with Godot and I spent about half my time switching between Godot, the documentation and ChatGPT to get something resembling a game but I am very happy with the result.

So, if you want to play a game where you are a swarm of insects destroying local farms while evading birds, give FIELD TRIP a go!
