Progress, maybe?

Recording 2023-09-29 at 22.49.02_cropped.gif

So...we are pretty stuck on the theme, and just moving on to make random and worry about theme later. I made an orbiting rope thingy that can be tossed away with an input. Our idea isn't solid but we are currently thinking this could become some kind of delivery game where you need to time tossing at houses around the screen edge. It is late and we are kind of burned out for the day so this is just where we are now.

Idea sorted

It's 4am here and I've been asleep since long before the theme reveal 馃槀

I'm going to have maybe 4 hours total over the next few days for working on this, so my scope has to be pretty small. I'm thinking of remaking my first LD game from six years ago - I've improved so much since then, it'll be interesting to see if I can improve it! I have a few ideas for improvements, and I think I'll be able to make a few simple enemies work too.

I'm in!

Joined forces with my friend @rsr-studios. This is our first team entry and hopefully we manage to finish something that is fun to play!

Sea Kelp

Sea kelp can be collected and thrown. If you collect a lot it gets bundled up and it weighs you down, so you can toss it around and pick it up later. Oh, and it's sticky!

My idea is coming along nicely

Just need to add the rest of the mechanics and maybe some more variety if i have time then I'm done! Also how popular is python in these jams?

Progress Report!

Screenshot1.png My game is a platformer where you must get past obstacles while the lava rises, shrinking the playable space.

Things have been going really smoothly so far. I'm hoping to have the "Minimum Viable Game" finished tonight, or at least close to finished. After that, I'll focus on additional content and polishing.

Limited Space, Unlimited Scope

OK super excited for this one. Really need to do a jam. Gonna see how far I can get things.

Hands on!

So after some brainstorming with my friend @icaro-niz and struggling with my Blender installation, we finally have some basic models and level design. We also made good progress on setting up the code repo, ready for TDD and CI/CD with auto-deployments to itch.io by commits. Screenshotem20230930/em050927.png

Brainstorming!

Haha this was definitely not our favorite theme... but that is part of the fun!PXLem20230930/em042721873.MP~3.jpg

Im in

Im in! Totally unprepared. Dont know what tools to use and I have no idea about what to do.

Night 1 of Stowaway!

Tonight I've just gotten started on my game. Never done LD before, excited to give it a try!

Considered a bunch of ideas but settled on a stealth game about stowing away in some sort of cargo ship or delivery truck and having to hide from people when they're loading/unloading stuff.

One loading person (brown rectangle) walking back and forth and one player (pink rectangle) moving around in response to keyboard/gamepad controls! Tomorrow it's time for all the game bits!

Well...its something

Moving from my usual side scroll comfort to first person 3d is quite the challenge.

First Playable Demo!

Ok, i decided to pivot to Godot 4 because.. thinking of limited space made me think of watching the garbage trucks navigating my neighborhood and how they manage not to mash up all the cars.. so why not!

Quick mockup in Godot 4.. good enough for first night. Next up will be making camera work right, add some lovely flopping garbage lids, music, custom assets, car alarms, houses and such..... whew.. we'll see how far i get :grimacing:

Working title: TIS-8829

Basic layout, code parsing and error checking, output validation complete. Next up: evaluation and debugging tools!

Just woke up and the theme...

... is very tricky to come up with any ideas I would be happy with! Panic!

2D Scuba Diving Managament Game

I am going to make a scuba diving/submarine management style game for this jam. So far I have a character and an idea. Fortunately I actually have time to finish this jam...maybeCharacter_Diver.png
