Invoke koballds to get the cake

I have very few time this week-end. I'm not even sure I will be able to make some real drawings. This is why I called my game "Koballd Crawler".

screenshot.png

If I don't have time, the sprites will stay as green balls, like in "koBALLd".

If I have time, I draw kobolds, like in KOballD.

You can play a first version of my game here: http://squarity.fr/#fetchezgithubgistdarkrecher/24d6471c87d1065064ca830646709fea/raw/koballd-crawler.txt

Try to understand how it works and to get the cake.

You have to click on elements of the game and on the map tiles at the borders to make things happen. It's the first Squarity game created with click handling!

So, I'm also in this time :)

Starting bit late, and with very limited time for actual coding, but at least have some idea :)

Theme was hard to tackle. I rejected obvious 'summonings' like monsters, cultists and stuff (fun, but probably will be quite common). Than I thought about some IRL summonings. One of good ideas was to make a game about nurses night shift in a hospital, summoned by patients, struggling to be everywhere and keep track of oneself tiredness and sleepiness. BUT it would be too time consuming :/

So, as usual with this 'make/draw/figure out something from a prompt', as a non-native english speaker, I went to Urban Dictionary for inspiration! And I found something fun.. although, I keep literal meaning, not the one from UD ;P

Summoning takes teamwork

I've made some progress on my game, which will be about positioning characters to solve puzzles and summon creatures. The basic mechanics and graphics are in place (and I guess technically the game's winnable :P) ld55_progress01.gif

I'm in

A bit late and with limited time this weekend, but I wanted to at least try something. Not for the compo, even if I'm using compo rules, but still wanted to continue my jam streak.

I'm not really a fan of the theme, but got a semi-working idea. It's definitely on the obvious side, the player has to summon creatures, but I tried my best to not go with the most obvious idea and so the summoning is the objective, not a mechanic you use during the game. If luck is on my side, I plan to use procedural generation, but unfortunately I'm not counting on it, not with how little time I have.

Good jam, everyone!

actually my first time creating pixel art, can you tell that I don't know how to shade properly lol

Testing projectiles: The player was not supposed to have this ability...

Still have not implemented the "summoning" bit but wanted to implement a projectile system, although since the thing that is supposed to shoot them does not exist yet I made the player shoot stuff :)

Managed to push out a game in a day

Managed to push out a game, I feel like there's more that could be done but I'm tired and feel like the basics is in. gameplay2.gif

LD 55 - Summoning. I'm In!

Alright - tried last year and never finished. Let's see what we got this year. Planning to be keep it simple. Technologies used will be RayLib and aseprite.

Big goals here will be to a) Complete a project and b) improve coding ability and readability. Let's do it.

Good luck everyone!

Advancing, one of the summons!

Work is being done on the art/sprites for the little summons and at the same time I'm doing my best on implementing a way to actually call these helpers in!

I'm out :(

Wasn't quite satisfied with the ideas we had, plus some personal stuff made me just not feeling like it anymore. Oh well... at least some of the ideas were cool, though impossible to achieve in 3 days (I know there's an option for finishing the game after the jam ends but still).

A 40+ jam team doing 40+ teams things

Yooo, Ludum Dare awesome people 🔥🔥🔥

We're excited to participate in this and see what we can muster together. This is how it looks like to have a massive team united for a common goal, by the way 💪

Finished my first Godot Gamejam Game - Tiny Scope Project for Ludum Dare 55

BoneTrainGFX.png Over past several weeks I finally got going with Godot. For this Ludum Dare I only had a single day to work solo on a project and so I made my little project Bone Train today over a period of about 8 hours. Not expecting huge results in the jam but happy that I can finally get something done on my own with Godot in such a short timeframe! 😅

Here's the game for anyone interested: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/55/$390078

Some progress

Some good progress after two-thirds of the first day. Half of it is mockup, the other half functional. I'm hopefull I'll make it! Skärmbild 2024-04-13 174622.png
