Ludum Dare 55 April 13–16, 2024

I have finished the game!

I've added leaderboards but I don't know why they don't work on the ludum dare website, so if you want to compete, you can go to itch.io :)

How do I grade games?

How do I grade games? Do I just leave comments? I am able to see the games and play them but I am unsure on how to earn feedback karma or submit grades.

Done for now. Nexus awaits

Managed to create the combo game. First the theme was a little hard but then I remembered Helldiver II and drop pods. So why not make a game where you send summoned heroes down to the planet and clear quests.

I had planned to create some kind of upgrade shop but run out of time. Maybe one of these times I will remember to create timeline for the compo and not let feature creep set in.

You can "spawn" in different characters. More coming soon.

Home stretch!

AI is working! He kinda dumb, but at least it's playable as a single-player game now!

Time for a tutorial, some polish, and MAYBE squeeze in one last mechanic.

Clocking out for the jam

I feel like I'm getting burned out of my project for this ludum dare. So I'm clocking out and turning in what I have now. You can take a look if you'd like! I'm not expecting much feedback, as it is an Android-only AR mobile app. Still, try it if you can! :)

Day 2 Progress Report

We might just get there in time! 2 minigames are visually complete. 6 are feature complete. 2 of the summons are implemented. Still a long way to go but we might just make it. Screenshot 2024-04-14 211949.pngScreenshot 2024-04-14 212038.png

Search Help. Model doesnt load on LD : )

When I upload to LudumDare my Model doesn't load. Any help? Would be amazing

I have a .glb File. Usually I store these in my publich folder, but LD Site stores them somewhere and definitly not on the root path ^^ If I want to load from Github. I get an cors error. The Guide is not really helpful currently. https://ludumdare.com/resources/guides/embedding/

I build a JS Game with ThreeJS. I load my models via ts const url = "https://raw.githubusercontent.com/FrankBevr/Summar/main/assets/sketo.glb"; const { scene: model, animations } = await useGLTF(url);

Here, have a contextless clip!

On a related note, our game may have been far too overly ambitious for only 3 people. With 18 hours left to go, we still have a few major features to get even remotely functional...

OMG It actually looks like a game now

I love when I can really start seeing the progress. Full disclosure: I don't speak a lick of Spanish. The Spanish translation is all Google Translate.

Meet Trashy!

We needed a trash can for our game, and Trashy's the result!trashy.gif

More Progress...

Now with some procedurally added stuff to the blocks (such as windows, movement to the trees, platforms, etc).

I made my first game-jam game

Actually, this is the first time I have finished a game ever. I'm not very happy with the result, but it feels good to finally put something out there. It was actually inspiring to create something janky and crappy, since normally I'm too much of a perfectionist. I have learned a ton from this project, and being able to stick to a very simple plan, was a bit of a personal victory, despite of the final result.

Hope you are having a good time as well :)
