LD25 December 14–17, 2012

Finished except for sound, CRUNCH AUDIO TIME

I finished my entry Make It Black with 80 minutes to spare.

I’m very happy with the result as I kept it simple so had time add quite a bit of polish (or Juice) and the game is complete with ending level, in game info, difficulty buildup, ambient animations and even a goat. Screenshot below is of intro level.

Only thing missing is sound and I’ve got some good samples lined up so adding them before the deadline is my only goal in life right now. Good luck to all!

A title! Yay!

Hey, this is my second update. Not that I didn’t want to write posts, I just didn’t have anything to show yet.

But this has changed (a bit). I proudly presents… title screen! With… the name of my game! (yay, at last!)

Moreover, I have a goat! 😀

Of course, game will be available in an hour :)

Love the title screen. Very clever :)

It’s finished!

Noir Game is finished, with soundtrack everything working! You can play it already!

Just to note, my animation was made using the Pyganim module, since I used Pygame for the entire project (and the awesome Sublime Text 2! Really, you should try it!)

Slay those Paladins! (I finished!)

Finished! In fact, I finished because there was nothing left to add!

Mon Dec 17 13-30-19 NZDT 2012

It’s a kind of beat-em-up/hack-and-slash platformer except with a goal in mind: Corrupt the planet with your chaos powers. The last level is quite challenging too. Even I haven’t won it yet, and that’s only level 7. If you make your own maps all the way to level 16… you will get pwned.

Yes, that’s right, you can make your own levels. From images. All you need is creativity and a painting program.

Check it out here

Have fun slaying paladins, using special powers for evil, and ultimately, poisoning a planet to the point where everything dies and chaotic forces block out the sun.
Oh, and there’s lots of blood.

ENJOY!

DONE!

All right, another Ludum Dare finished! This was my third. Damn, am I proud of what I’ve made! It’s got some problems with balance  I guess, but apart from that it feels like a really good game! Now it’s up to you guys to agree/disagree!

Like a victorious soldier lying exhausted on the battle field

I did it! With only a few hours left my game is done! I feel like a victorious soldier lying exhausted on the battlefield.

I really impressed with how much I’ve managed to squeeze out of these 47 hours. It’s amazing. I’m really tired and glad. Think I’ll sleep for two days straight :-)

Here’s my submission.

Evil Dudes Need Evil Towers [COMPLETE!!!]

Phew, about 1 hour left !!!

The game takes place in the past.

You want to be evil and the Evil Master of the Evil Clan
looks at you but at the same time he looks at the beautiful
waves behind you and deeply smells the salty scent of
the infinite sea. After a long pause he says :

“Dude, TRULY EVIL PEOPLE need a tall EVIL TOWER.”

Find the entry here. I hope you’ll enjoy it.

Cure 48 – FINISHED!

I finished early! WOW! Now I’m gonna spend the rest of my prep time getting a web/HTML5 version ready before submitting. Then… some MUCH NEEDED SLEEP. Been up for nearly 24 hours. UGH.

GOOD LUCK, EVERYONE!

Posted!

Since I have been working with Objective-C/Cocoa, there is no windows build.  :(  Sorry folks.

Other important point:  I forgot to include the source with my submission!  It is here:

Special thanks to http://superpixeltime.com for helping me out with my excellent programmer art!

My other question is, I have included a goat in my game!  How do I get a cute goat icon?

Noble Weapon – Done!

After a hectic all nighter and several hours on top of that, my entry’s done. It lacks background music, but I’m happy with how all of the other assets turned out. The game could probably use some balancing in terms of how good each ability is as well as the game’s difficulty curve, but I’ll leave that stuff to post-LD edits. For now, sleep. ¦)

Mouse + arrow keys. Also, I forgot to say it anywhere but you can mute the game by pressing X. Oh, and there’s sound !

For now, I just want to sleep. See you in some days for the timelapse and the post-mortem ! That was great anyway, totally waiting for the next ludum dare 😀

Edit : here’s the timelapse !

Looking like a real game!

My game’s finally looking like a real game and I think it’s actually kinda fun if a little difficult!

gamescreen

I doubt i’ll do much more to it now, aside from tweaking some variables and shifting some pixels!

Playable from browser demo: http://joeaxon.co.uk/projects/ld25/

Controls: Arrows for movement, ESC to pause and some other stuff!

Objective: Mug and deal your way out of debt before the time runs out! Watch out for the police.

Maybe I should keep this bug
