LD27 August 23–26, 2013

We’re in like Flynn.

MBB_x1000

Yay. McBurrobit is a 3-man team from Finland. Our special talents lie in cutting it real close with deadlines and lax quality stantards. LD#27 will be our first Ludum Dare (hopefully with many to come). We’re looking forward to testing ourselves and seeing just how far we can come in 72 hours. We’ll be livestreaming at least one screencast (from the programmer desktop) with possibly a webcam and if at all viable, additional screencasts from the artist and our sound man. Our team is:

  • Alvar – graphics artist, working mostly with Paint.NET
  • Ville – musician & sound design magician, Renoise and Synth1 (he claims he uses other soft synths as well, but he’s lying, it’s all Synth1 all the time)
  • Aapo – programmer, working in Eclipse with libGDX

We hope to have a fun weekend (well, weekstart, for us, we’re running from saturday to tuesday due to time zones) and look forward to seeing what everyone can cook up!

I’m in

This will be my second Ludum Dare, the first outside of the Jam. I’m planning on using C++ with SDL for OpenGL, but if the theme seems to need it I’ll use Unity3D.

No matter what, I’ll be using Photoshop for 2D graphics.

If I use C++:

– SOIL (Simple OpenGL Image Library)

If I use Unity:

– Blender for 3d graphics

Tags: C++, opengl, photoshop, unity, unity3d

I’m in for both weekends

So I’ve participated before, but I’ve failed pretty much every single time.
This has been since 2010 for me, but I’ve become a much better programmer in the past year or so.
I’ll be doing the warmup weekend as well as the actual Ludum Dare because I want to actually have something to show for this time around, and I believe the practice will certainly help.

Library: Lua/Löve
Utilities: Git, Pen & Paper for planning
Sounds: I’m not sure yet
Graphics: Probably GIMP, unless anyone has a suggestion for a good Linux sprite editor?
Beverage: Tea mostly. :)

Good luck everyone! I should have an update when I get some progress done on my warmup game….
It might last until Monday as of course I have summer homework and things to do. ARGH!

Another I’m in

Second Ludum Dare here. It was really awesome last time.

Language: HTML5/JavaScript. Using Notepad++

Graphics: GIMP

Sound: bfxr/sfxr

Music, if I dare to try: LMMS

Going to warmup. I’ll try to remember how to draw something, play sounds, load resources, etc. If I feel daring, I’ll try to learn experiment with the Gamepad API for JavaScript. That would be pretty neat.

I could possibly be in

Going to be thoroughly busy on Saturday.  Hoping for a mad-inspiring theme.

If I am in, I’ll be using my usual casual bullshit programs.  Game Maker, sfxr, etc. Let’s go rad theme!

Warmup Weekend Starts~

This will be my second Ludum Dare, and my first building from the ground up! I only just became comfortable with java, so this will be my first time using it for a game – v- ; . Graphics will be from SAI, Photoshop, Tiled, and Pyxel Edit (a maybe for those last two). No idea how to do sound effects yet, we’ll see if I know by next weekend! Language is, of course, Java. I’ll probably be peeking over at my cheat sheet for the basics during warm up weekend.

I’m starting the stream with some painting, to help with ideas -v – ; . You can catch me on http://www.twitch.tv/redstone_dust !

Neither of your links worked for me, chrome gave me the following: “Error code: ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED”

Warmup Weekend Update

Going to stop the stream for a bit! Here’s the progress so far:

Good Luck to all you enter.

I’m in

Hello all,

This is my first Ludum Dare. I plan on using multimedia fusion to write the game. For music and sound effects I plan on using Ableton Live with my microkorg xl, accustic guitar for samples, and Table Top. I also plan on using photoshop for graphics.

It should be super top!

Good luck everyone.

I’m double in!

Hey everyone,

I’m up for my 7th Ludum Dare. This will be good again!

Programming: Game Maker 8.1

GFX: Paint.NET/Flash CS6/Photoshop CS6

SFX: SFXR/my Roland SH-201 synthesizer

Music: LSDj running on GBC/Ableton Live / The synthesizer mentioned before

But wait.. why am I double in?!

I have recently joined Atomic Vikings and I’m the musician in the team. We will be doing the jam and I’ll be making the music on the last day of the jam after the compo is finished, here is our we’re in post!

I’m in for Ludum Dare 27.

I’m going to be in my first ludum dare! Never done one before, so here we go!

I also may use Photon Cloud Unity Networking, but I’ll post if i decide to.

Engine: Unity3d free.

Language: C#

Graphics: Paint.NET

Sounds: Audacity

Music: No clue.

Collab

Any artist interested in teaming up for the jam next weekend..  I’m a programmer and I use haxe/openfl.  You can check out some of my stuff here: www.kongregate.com/games/ZeroCreativity1.

First Jam!

Hey all! Going to be entering next week for my first ever Ludum Dare Jam.

I’m going to be working with a friend. I will be trying to use Unity3D to make a 2D game (Never tried it before) while my friend will be in charge of crappy pixel art.

Good luck all and have fun.

Maybe

Might do this again (3rd time), but it overlaps with VR Jam deadlines and with the size of LD now, maybe 30 people will get around to playing the game I make, so no clue. If I solo, I will Unity.

Also interested in maybe working with a team via e-mail and providing artistic (2D/3D) support… I don’t do any real time correspondence so keep that in mind as it will be tricky for people who don’t like sending requests into the abyss. Vancouver BC Canada timezone —

The Cycle of Game making

Cycle

This is what the last 2 or so years have looked like for me; let’s hope that this Ludum Dare, I can finally get to breaking it!

While making my warmup game, I realize that it is INDEED a bad library, so I scrapped it (:P)

YET I shall push forward and make a warmup anyway!

I’m mainly posting this to make it known for myself (and perhaps others who do the same thing)

Can we please kill all of the 8bit/tiny/mini themes?

It’s like every other Ludum Dare is just making a game in as few pixels as you can. I really want a uniqe theme this time around

We are in! Warmup submission – Watch the Watch by KamuKuda

This is going to be our second jam!

Screen Shot 2013-08-17 at 9.26.06 PM

Here’s our warmup submission: http://kamukuda.saveidea.ru/watchthewatch/

Done by 4 people in 4 hours. We picked the theme almost randomly—Clocks (or watches, for that matter). Flash, free assets, and some McD food 😉

We are not too happy with the result, but still hope you might enjoy it!

Folis’ n-th “I’m in” post!

It’s happening again, and you won’t drive me away from it! (Especially since I’m waiting to do that LD #32 keynote; Watch out, PoV!)

This time I’ll use a bit of a different toolset, just because always GameMaker seems a bit bland, doesn’t it? So, here we go:

ENGINE: Unity3D;

AUDIO: FruityLoops Demo; A microphone and Audacity for epic sfx;
GRAPHICS: Wings3D, Blender, Paint.NET;

STREAMING: OpenBroadcaster;

Alright, anything else? Oh well.
Good luck to everyone, especially the new people! :)
