The Mandatory “I’m in” post

Signing in for my 4th Ludum Dare, this time will be a bit different, I’m going to my brothers new flat for the weekend, and the following week. So the development will be on a mac. Still getting my tools sorted but should be something like:

  • Language – Java
  • IDE – Sublime Text and Itellij
  • Graphics – Pixel and Gimp
  • Sound – cfxr (sxfr – mac port)
  • Optional – Tiled(map editor) and Chronolapse
  • Livestream – Normally I would live stream, but I’m not sure if I can set up to stream from the mac. If I can i will at http://twitch.tv/dddbomber

Hopefully going to be a good one. See you all on the battlefield

A bit of work left:D

A bit of work left:D

I have a lot of warming up to do…

My very first ludum dare next week!

Sounds Fun!

Starting to learn Game Development so why not learn with a games jam?

This will be my first games jam and I am rather looking forward to it.

Have Fun All!

Tools: Flash(Actionscript 3)

OS: Windows 7

GFX: Flash

Sound: sfxr & Audacity

I’m in! (I hope)

Ludum Dare starts in 6 days 10 hours, which is 9 AM for me. I’ll have class by then, so I’ll be late. I really hope I can still catch up and join.

Code: Haxe + OpenFL + HaxeFlixel

GFX: Photoshop

SFX/Music: sfxr and autotracker

Had my practice with Haxe (and Game Maker in my earlier days), but I haven’t prepared any libraries of my own or anything. I’m just hoping I can produce something [decent].

Wish me luck for my first Ludum Dare!

I’m planning to use haxe, too. Hopefully it serves us well.

Statistics: “I’m In” Posts

I just went through all the “I’m In” posts for the upcoming Ludum Dare written up to this point and collected some data about the preferences of the participants. It’s not very accurate, but it shows the general trends. :)

I hope you all will have a great LD27! Thank you for being awesome!

AtomicVikings – Warmup weekend progress

We had a late start so we’re only ca 4 hours into development, but we have our concept and our artist is working on some graphics (Livestream) and our coders are working on the game structure (Livestream).

Here’s a little preview of some assets provided by our artist.

Text Base Adventure Game for LD

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if we are allowed to make a text based game for the ludum dare?

I am going to be using python with pygame and was wondering if it was okay to use just text in the game.

I will have stuff like inventory and choices and maybe ascii graphics and sounds, but I just wanted to make sure that it was okay!

Thanks!

I’d be strongly surprised when I’d see real life footages about a board game. 😀

Make whatever you like :-) As long as you have fun!

The type doesn’t matter, as long as it’s a game! 😀

Progress So Far

Well, if you saw my post yesterday about not being here for thew Compo, you will know I am making my game now, and will be submitting it via my phone while on vacation.

I have made a little bit of progress in the about hour and a half I worked last night. The game will be a FPS, with a twist, keep the enemy alive.

Firstly, the theme I am going with, pigs, has turned into monkey pigs:

mokeypig

I have also made a second model for walking, but I need to redo it.

Secondly, I have made a todo/idea list which you can view here

The idea of the game is that you have pigs attacking you, but you need to keep them alive, as their genetically modified farts are the only source of oxygen when we have killed all flower and tree life.

The challenge of the game is that we all know that you can’t have monkey-pigs, without bandits to attack them, so you need to keep the pigs alive, while they are attacking you, while bandits are attacking them, if the game is finished.

I am going to start to work in unity now, to make the game mechanics and move towards the end of the todo list

Come watch me stream and enjoy the process with me!

The art style is supposed to mimic mosaics. Yep. That’s the excuse for now. Click here to view the stream~!

LD27 Warmup

logo

I’m in for LD27. Here is my warmup game Zombie Boss [Floating-Head].

I was just trying to make sure I could build successfully for both platforms. Get something on the screen, makes some sound, and respond to input. Let me know if it works for you. It would be a big help.

Language: Haxe
Text Editor: Sublime Text
Art: Photoshop
Sound: Reason, Audacity, sfxr

I won’t stream, but I will try to post regular updates here on this blog, or on twitter. I am @prettymuchbryce. You can see my past jam games at http://prettymuchgames.com. Let’s jam !

Aww no Linux build :(

Paratus dare ludum!

I'm in image here...

Yeah, that’s the only original title I found, sorry.
I finally finished my triangle paint “software”, well, it’s not finished, but I can work with it.
So I’m in too, and that will be my third Ludum Dare. Here are my tools:

Code: C++/SFML
IDE: Code::Blocks
Graphics: Trixxxy/Paint.NET
SFX: SFXR
Music: Fruity Loops 10
Timelapse: Chronolapse

That’s it, I think I’ll make a little game to test my paint “software”.
Good luck everybody! 😀

I’m in !!!

So I had a lot of fun making a 7DFPS game (Even though I only had 2 Days to make something) so i’m going to be playing the many games people submitted.

I also invented a drinking game on the occasion just to make things a little fun.

Bored, Want a laugh or just want to Chill? Come join!

I’m in… maybe.

Well, I just did a jam late last month, and I’m still kind of burnt out from that, but I also want to enter.

Hopefully the theme will motivate me enough to join. I am doing a warmup, so that might help as well.

I’ve only entered one LD before, and that was a dual entry with the GMC Jam, so I’m eager to do the LD compo for the first time.

The tools I’m using;

GameMaker 8.1

GIMP

Audacity

SFXR (Possibly, it might depend on the style of game I’m making.)

I’m back again to make another somewhat average game that will keep your socks on*

For those of you who remember me, I made , which for some odd reason never got an actual rating, probably because I rated maybe 10 or so games, which is a little** below average.
I’ll contact Ace and MK to see if they want to jam or not this time around, they probably will.

The tools we will be using:
-Lua as a programming language
-Love2D as a library for Lua
-Geany for coding
-Paint.net for art
-Bfxr for sound
-I’ll use Linux while Ace and MK will probably be using Windows
-Toilet for pooping
-Sink for washing
-This sentence to put MK’s music tool as low on the list as possible
-Famitracker for music
-This sentence to make sure MK doesn’t use the “save the best for last” line(I love you too)

We usually do pretty good, so expect something that will be fun for at least 9 minutes or so.
I just hope the music isn’t as repetative as last time we jammed together, and hopefully I can keep the difficulty curve under control.

Have a great Ludum Dare everybody, I look forward to playing a few games.

*If you are wearing socks, that is
**It’s actually way below average
