Hi everyone, this is Terrabyte here (aka @terraby_t or terrabyte_aura), basically saying I’M IN!
This is my first solo Ludum Dare (I did a Mini LD with Puzzlem00n, and you can see the result here.), so this should be an interesting weekend! Anyway, as per the rules, I have to declare any of my personal code that I may use, so here is my Grid experimental LOVE engine. The code is hopeless, but it works, and allows you to easily manipulate grids as well as apply physics to the blocks with in them (ok, only gravity so far
). You can get it here as a .love with a demo here.
Also, you may find this blog useful: ideasquish. It’s got 20 posts worth of ideas for your personal enjoyment and usage, and that’s totally not biased! (ok, that’s a little biased, I co-write it
)
And by the way, I will be using LOVE2D, Sunvox and GIMP/Inkscape/my whiteboard for this Ludum Dare.
Oh, and if in doubt, whiteboard.
Yours,
terraby_t
I didn’t realize that there were warmup entries until, well, ten minutes ago.
I just came from a 24-hour game development thing with a friend (in preparation for LD27), so I figured I’d upload it here.
I really fell in love with the style I experimented with and will probably do something similar (but more polished) for LD27, if the theme allows. I appreciate any feedback you guys give me. Oh, and there’s sound, so don’t panic. Or, you know, panic… I can’t stop you.

A picture of my warmup thing.
You can check it out here (along with the other Warmup Entries).
Mine is the one called “Quest”

This month’s issue was a bit smoother, but still not quite what Issue #0 was. We know for sure we’ll get there in Issue #3, but in the mean time, check out the meat that’s contained within Issue #2!
I hope everyone enjoys the latest issue, and comes back for more.
If anyone’s interested in joining the team, hit us up at contact (at) indiepowermag.com.
Check it out at http://www.indiepowermag.com!
Theme Voting has begun! Tune in every day this week for a new round of themes. *
[ ROUND 1 | ROUND 2 | ROUND 3 ]
[ ROUND 4 | FINAL ROUND ]
Special thanks to Sorceress for helping out.
* Links above in Bold are still open. If you haven’t cast a vote yet, click the link to do it. End times for each round vary, and many cross over.

I’m new here; just wanted to stop by and announce that I’ll be attempting the Compo. A friend and I did a sort of trial run this weekend with a 24-hour game dev. session, so I sort of know what I’m in for and how much I can reasonably expect to accomplish.
Later on I’ll post some of the base scripts I’ll be relying on. Since I’ll be using Unity, I’ll write some Editor scripts that will speed up my development (but won’t actually be used at ‘runtime’), but I haven’t written them yet so I can’t post them =D
Tools I will use:
Anyways, best of luck to me and everybody else participating!

Good afternoon everyone! As always I am very excited for the upcoming Ludum Dare #27 and the new challenges and games it brings! I haven’t been doing much development over the past few weeks. Work has been demanding, with a large project just being deployed and putting out the fires that follow. With that in the rear-view mirror it was time to get back to it!
I decided to participate in the Warmup Weekend to brush up on my skills and try some new things. I’ve always wanted to set up some sort of ‘radar’ system to track enemies, as well as a particle system. With my game, qShooter (for Quick Shooter), I was able to implement both of those things with great effect.
Play game: qShooter
qShooter is a top-down shooter that has you combating large waves of enemy missiles that are trying to destroy your space station. You must survive for as long as possible, until your space station is destroyed. Missiles can be tracked with the red dots on the screen. Enemy missiles also detonate in a massive shower of particles, something I had never done before.
Making qShooter was a fun little 2 day distraction. I put around 8 hours of work into it, using assets from OpenGameArt, as well as a Google image search for Space Station.

Yup, BlackCode is in! It’s our 3rd time participating in compo 😉 This time we’re going to do some more planning than before (last time we were thinking about an idea for only about 15 minutes).
Tools we’re going to use:
We’re also going to make a timelapse of everything 😉
Good luck!

This will be my 3th LD48. This time I decided to use Haxe and OpenFL. As rxi said, it’s pretty neat and there’re a few frameworks like HaxeFlixel or HaxePunk that allows to make a simple game in fast way. In fact I was working on a simple platform demo this weekend to practice. You can check out here. That sort of training has been a bit depressing. I found a lot of unresolved questions and issues that could be a problem next weekend. So I’ll keep everything simple and won’t design any complex game. That is!
This will be my 4th LD and my aim, as always, is to just do better than last time. My tools will be the usual suspects:
* Photoshop CC
* BFXR
* Unity Pro
* Pro Motion (if I go sprite based)
* Visual Studio Pro
* Coffee
* Instant noodles
Looking froward to playing everyone’s games!
… and I’m surrounded by an air of uncertainty.
Still have some time left today to fool around. Might also spend a few of my week-day hours to see what I can get done.
Also, looks like I’m working the Sunday evening following Ludum Dare. That has to be better than working during part of the competition, but I’m not sure how much better.
Inspiration abound, a poem for you all. ![]()
Forty-eight Hours
No time for showers
But Ludum Dare
You won’t me scare
Code I shall write
To make a game
I’ll better get it right
Or it won’t be the same
I wish you all
A great weekend
Follow your call
See you at the end ![]()
I’m joining you all on this fun and exciting journey.
This will be my first Ludum Dare so I just spent the whole weekend learning Unity. I wish you all lots of fun. ![]()
Hey everyone! For no reason whatsoever, you should probably make a tower defense game for LD27!
Pledge your loyalty to the movement

Hey so I am excited to make a game for LD27 this weekend.
I’m going to be using Ren’Py to build the game with GIMP and audacity for asset creation.
I think this is what I need to do before I start. Let me know if it isn’t, if that’s something people do.
Tools:
Hey guys. This will be my first legitimate ludum dare! I am excited to see where this goes, and I hope I will enjoy all the submissions.
Here’s what I’ll be using for this LD #27
Alright, it looks I’m in!
Language: Java, Eclipse
Art: Excel if pixel art, paintbrush if not (I’m looking to switch from paintbrush to something better, but it has to be free)
Sound: Garageband
If any of you have a program suggestion for my art I’ll be happy to try it out!
I’m still really learning Unity 3D, but I’m going to use this as the opportunity to force myself to do something with it.
I’m in! I have to fly out sometime on Sunday, but will be working to have something posted before I leave.
Language – C#
Environment – Unity 3D
Art – MS Paint, SketchBook Pro (iPad), Blender (a big maybe here as I’m less than proficient with it)
Sound – sfxr
Music – Musagi
Have fun!
Not that I wouldn’t be in
I’m always so thankful that the dates are given with lots of advance warning so I can make sure I have no conflicts, but then again the August LD generally takes place on the bank holiday weekend anyway so it’s very easy to tell when it happens.
As per usual I will be using GM to make the game.
Otherwise I’m trying to plan what on earth I’ll have for food for the LD weekend.
I’ve got my fingers crossed a good theme is chosen as although I kinda liked my game LD, I wasn’t a huge fan of the theme!
Here i come. Guns locked and loaded. This will be my 3rd ludum dare 😀 And I will use…
engine: UNITY
music: LOGIC PRO
art: Photoshop or gimp
programming language: unity script
I made a little template for you guys to use!
