LD27 August 23–26, 2013

Second Ludum Dare!

Posting saying hello !

Heres my setup…

Ready to code!

Ready to code!

Tools:

IDE: Xcode / Visual Studio

SVN: Git/Bitbucket

Sound: Fission/BFxr/Logic

Art: Pixen/Photoshop

This will be my second LD, first being LD26 , I finished my game “Traffic Jam” after nearly losing my mind.

This will be fun! See you all when the theme is announced!!!!

Buenas!

Hola gente!

BTW! Les comento mi organización!!!

¿Software que uso?

Unity3d, FLStudio, Blender, GIMP y posiblemente Tiled, Audacity.

¿Tengo cosas preparadas?

Si.

En conclusión, I’M IN!!! Espero poder hacer un juego por sobre las cosas divertido. Cuando termine toda la locura subo mis archivos bizarros de planificación y los managers! Saludos!!!

I can’t understand what you’re saying and neither can 80% of the community.

Well, if I may ask: why did you decide to make your blog in spanish? Looking for people in the spanish gamedev community I guess? Anyway, If I got it right, you are going to use some pre-made code. It is usual by the rules that you publish it in a blog post. I may have understood that wrong though.

Dude, way did you have to ruin my childhood with that picture on the T.V.? Thanks…hehe

Hey you! Look at me!

This is my first Ludum Dare and I’ll be participating in the jam. I’ll be doing the art for the game and my boyfriend, JellyCakes, will be programming it.

For 48 hours I’ll be doing my idea solo, mainly the art assets and then for the last 24 hours JellyCakes will be joining me to put it all together.

As an artist I’ll be using:

Adobe Photoshop

Adobe Illustrator

Bamboo Graphics Tablet

Maybe hand drawn/ paints to be scanned in as art.

My White Furby Mascot: Squishy.

10/10 Furby is hawt.

In on LD #27

I’ll be doing my first project for Ludum Dare this weekend. This isn’t my first game jam, I have previously done work on game jams hosted at UC Irvine, however those were in teams and participants were given a full week (!) to build their games. Obviously this will be far more hardcore so I’m going to be taking as many shortcuts I can within the rules.

I’ll be using StencylWorks as my engine, with sound effects generated by sfxr, sprites done in ASEPRITE and music generated with Abundant Music. I have a solid idea of what I’d like to do if the 10 second theme is chosen, for every other one I would likely have to brainstorm something different.

Good luck everyone! :)

First LD!

Hey fellow LD’ers! I finally feel I have the courage and the knowledge to do an LD.

So my setup:

Language: Java

IDE: Eclipse

Game Framework: libGDX

Hopefully I’ll be able to pull through this and to actually be able to finish a game!

Well, see you guy’s at voting time!

-MediocreLogic

Hi guys! Second LD attempt here. I’ll participate on the jam again and hopefully not make the same mistakes.

My main my tools are BlitzMax (my base code), PhotoShop and sfx. And some tool I can’t remember the name my wife’s gonna use to make music. Good luck to all!

I’m ready to jam!

I’ve got some old libraries pushed to here;

https://github.com/josefnpat/lovemisc

*no, i won’t support them.*

I’ve streaming right now! Check it out at twitch.tv/josefnpat

Feel free to tweet at me on the twitters! @josefnpat

PREPARE

I am in : D

I will be using:

Code:Flashdevelop\as3.

Art:Paint.net.

Sound:as3sfxr.

Have fun everybody and have an awesome Compo\Jam.

I’m in

… for the 5th time.

I won’t have much time but I hope I’ll still end up making a game I like :)

My tools :
Still working with AS3. I’ll have to code in Flash Pro because this time I’m on a Mac. I’ll miss FlashDevelop a lot.

I’ll probably use Flash for graphics too.

ThumbJam or PixiTraker for music.

And here’s a picture of my workstation :

Desk

Hope you all have a great Ludum Dare !

Merci :)

In first time for LD27

This is my first shot at an entry, although I’ve been watching the compo for a while now.  I’m pretty excited about the final themes.

IDE – GameMaker Studio

Language – JavaScript

Graphics – Photoshop/GIMP

Sound – SFXR

Music – Not sure yet.  Depends on if I get far enough to worry about it.

Hello world :) !

this is my first ludum dare, im excited, but it’s 12 at night here,  so i don’t know, should wait untill morning, or ju go fo it !!

and i’ ve said that i’ll be using gimp, i’ve never worked with, so i’ve change my mind and i’ll be trying to make ugly things width photoshop CS 1,  yeap im old :(

and can help me with an easy free software to make sound effects or music, cause i’ve never do it !!!

Remember that Bill Murray movie “Groundhog Day”?

That’s basically the idea of my game. As described in an e-mail between me and my friend working on this:

Game starts in a dirty bedroom. Lots of pages sitting around. Books laying in stacks on stuff. Things under the bed, things on the floor, things on the dresser, things on the bookshelf. You’re free to move. A few scribbled things on the table (or wall) stand out. You start reading them. Ten seconds in, it goes black. It starts over.

This is when you’re supposed to understand the game. You go back to reading, frantically trying to find something worthwhile. You pick up a book. Biochemistry or something. Game starts over. Okay, the one under Biochemistry is… A journal? First page is boring aaaaand game starts over. There’s codes to find, boxes to unlock, lights to turn on, maybe you can even call for your dog/cat if you can remember its name.

Considering my partner on this is spending the night drinking and playing fighting games, we’ll get to the legwork tomorrow.

Let me know if you like the idea! The game does not save your progression at all, and starts over every 10 seconds. As you progressively learn things from your environment, you are able to open/manipulate more things (because you’re getting smarter!)

IN!

Unity3D.  We’ll see how long I last subsisting on Coke Zero and programmer art.

I’m in for the second time. May use my C++ Lib.

The first time I didn’t get a whole lot of time working on the game, but I worked on it for a solid chunk of the initial hours and got the basics of a platformer game done.

TOOLS:

Language/Library: See below

IDE/OS: Geany/Linux

Graphics: Gimp/Inkscape/MyPaint

Sound: SFXR

Target Platform: Linux, plus others depending on the library used and time.

I may use my custom engine I’m working on. It’s not quite done( It needs Lua bindings still ), but it is very extensible.  The engine

supports Linux and Mac OSX. Windows support should be possible, but I don’t have the time to support it.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/kf9yuh9ed0pa3qk/libPerazim.so

But, I may end up using the basic structure of my previous game for LD26, which uses Lua/Love2d.

Looking forward to this jam! Working with a friend this time, hopefully we come up with something great!

It’s a bit late, and I won’t have a lot of time this WE, but I don’t care.

About the tools, I’m not sure yet, except :

Graphics: Gimp / Photoshop

Music: MuLab / FX sound composers

Game lib : SFML if I do the project with C++, or maybe a HTML5 / JS game library. I’m not sure yet!
