Music synchronization!

ataribeauty

Click to play —  WASD keys, gotta touch ’em all!

So this was fun: I wanted to see if I could get some reasonable level of audio synchronization, getting pulse events from a click track played in sync with the audio (a la video I posted previously). Blew half the last LD doing this so I was determined to get it working or let it go, man.

  1. Load a track into your favourite audio editor
  2. Painstakingly tap out the midi events for the notes you desire (better yet, convert existing project to midi and go)
  3. Save out to midi, load it up and play in sync with audio track

Included the source (minus track I’m afraid), which includes flow, my announced OpenFL library code

Good luck everyone!

Pre-compo Wings

Time to eat some pre-compo wings to start the night right and get the keyboard all greasy.

I can do it this time!

I’ve tried to participate on few LDs, but I always failed to finish anything. I have different feeling this time. This is the first time I’m not going to sleep, but actually wait for the theme announcement, so I can do a bit of work right at the start. At least get the idea what will I make.

Hopefully, I’ll manage to create something playable. My powerful creation tool will be Unity. Although I’m fairly new to Unity, I made sure I know things, that I really need. This is all for now.

If I may dare give you a piece of advice: think of a simple mechanic, implement it and then build on top of that. For example: I want a plataformer with zero gravity. Implement it, then add another cool things as power-ups, cool music/graphics, polishing etc. I always try to finish my game in the first day and improve it on the second. Good luck, and don’t forget to have fun!

Last minute in!

After a year break, making Let’s Go Moon for Ludum Dare 24 (Tiny Worlds), my friend and I have decided to re-enter the Jam again for this weekend! Why the Jam? Because friendship! yay.

Best reason! Good luck!

Round Two *ding* *ding*

My second Ludum Dare! Woohoo! (Check out my first here)

I’ll be working along side two brilliant artists and while we have a few vague ideas, we come quite unprepared 😀

Tools: Unity, Maya, Photoshop, Linux Multi Media Studio

Noms: coffee, pepsi, cookies and probably a take-away or two…

Good luck and have fun all!

(Very delayed) I’m in!

This will be my first ludum dare using using unity 3d and will be my 3rd attempt at making a unity game. I will probably use blender to make some horribly amateurish 3d models, and audacity to edit some noises, Hooray!

IM IN!

IN I AM!

I’ll be using:
Construct classic
Graphics Gale
Renoise
sfxr

Fun times, good times!

Hope everybody has a fun jam, good luck to you all!  😀

Count us in too!

Hello!

This will be our first time participating in the Ludum Dare. Our team (animefrikis) consist on two people: a graphic artist and a programmer. We will be creating a game with adobe AIR so it’s easy to play on the web or port it as an android app.

We are very excited to begin, good luck everyone!

Ludum Dare, already?

Another of my Perhaps-I’m-in posts. If all goes according to plan, I will be cross-compiling C++ to html5 via emscripten.

I have an initial, very basic framework as a starting point that can be found here: libludum27.zip.

Libraries: emscripten, libSDL, chipmunk, spine-runtime

Other tools: GIMP, sfxr, audacity, Inkscape,  qtcreator, git, cmake, ninja, tiled, spine;

Sneak peek

We can’t really say much but it will be awesome when its finished!

(We really like to work hard on our graphics too! 3 hours in and we are already working on level design and animations)

Follow us on @journeyint for progress updates!

Conversion

Quite possibly in.

Bitch, I might be.

If I end up using Python, I’ll probably use some of these libraries wot I wrote. They’re all open source so use them if you want, but I doubt anyone will given the fact that there’s no documentation or anything. I do urge anyone reading this to take a little look at what I have and see whether it’s alright, or I’m pushing it.

I’m in!

It’s been one year since my first Ludum Dare game jam, and I’ve learned a lot since then, so I’m really excited for this compo. This will also be the first one since then that I haven’t had distractions from traveling.

For tools I will be using:
Unity 4 + NGUI
Blender 2.67
GIMP 2.0
FL Studio (Desktop and mobile)

Good luck all! Looking forward to seeing what everyone makes.

In

Definitely In

Hopefully In

Optimistically In

I’m happy to be attempting another Ludum Dare. This time is going to be helping me try and get a handle on my homemade game engine in D again. Other resources are going to be the standard GIMP for pixel art, and that one program for random noises.

What was it again? I’m sure I’ll remember tonight…

Let’s jam?

Will maybe make a simple text based game for a change, if the theme allows it. Either way jam only, and only if the friggin theme is not 10 Seconds.

C++ or Python

Library:
–   Wt – A pretty nifty C++ Web Framework, would be interresting to implement a text based game in it
or Springbok  – My own C++ 2D game library currently in development, made for convinience and faster development.
or   No extra libraries at all, just plain text output in the console.

Pixel Art in GIMP, 3D Art in Blender or painted Art in Krita.

I’ve no clue about sound, but since I only enter the jam I will just use already existing stuff from OpenGameArt and Freesound.

Joining the Compo

I’ll be using VS2012 and/or Xcode 4, SFML 2.1, and possibly sfxr.

For graphics, I’ll be using some combination of Pixelmator and Paint.NET.

raptor rescue

I have no idea what I’m making
