LD35 April 15–18, 2016

Meanwhile, this compo participant keeps making improvements

While all the jammers are jamming, I wanted to show that I actually heard the feedback that I got and made my game a little easier. Here, take a look if you still haven’t played it:

Also, now you can skip instructions!

Infinity Drop – Music Time ! ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ

Hi everyone !

We’re almost done with our game (You can play it at : http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-35/?action=preview&uid=90440).

I’ve made mainly the music for it, and that was my first time on the software Ignite.
I have several years of practice (15years with piano), and I did a Music School for 12 years.

This is my dream to be in the future a composer, even if I know that thoses two musics

are not “that crazy”. But I want to create severals EPIC MUSICS, and make people HAPPY !

If you wonder, I am a huge fan of Beethoven, Danny Elfman, Yoko Shimomura, and
they are my main sources of inspiration.

I am open to any criticism 😀 by the way !

Anyway, enjoy (‐  ^▽^‐)/

Liked for Yoko Shimomura! Such an underrated game music composer :) I thought I was like the only one who loves her work!

A lot of you guys, played my game Space Dimension.

I had a lot of smart reviews from you.

I fixed my issues : Moving in 3D is way lot easier and flowing now, and the shooting is intuitive.

I invite you to try it again it’s a total different experience !

For those who didn’t try it yet —> Play it !

sheep shifter v0.06 – mechanics update!

  • Monster sheep can be cured if they are exposed to white flowers.
  • Sheep run away from the dog, monster sheep chase the dog.

  • Level design to follow!

Now you’re not thinkin’ with portals

Finally finished my entry! It is sort of a platformer and puzzle combined (+ in FPV). You have to shift objects into different shapes with your “weapon” to be able to for example move them where you need.

The game

Finished my 3rd Ludum Dare game!

Feels good man.

Well, I should start by saying I probably wanted this theme the least out of all the options, but I remembered playing a game called SPY on kongregate a few years ago and decided to make a similar game in 3 days, I am pretty happy with the result, only things that went wrong is I couldn’t find suitable sound for the game(it has no sound sadly) and I was too exhausted to force myself to make more levels. I didn’t build the levels efficiently enough and it became a real slog to do them very quickly. I also recommend either play on itchio or play full screen it cuts off the width a bit without full screen.

No way I can make it…

Well… I’m not gonna make it… I have to head to work and a combination of restarting, lack of motivation, and a bit of procrastination has sucked up my time. I’ll probably finish the game and post it here (Not in the jam of course) for everyone to see. I’ll try again next LD. Overall, I had fun!  Thanks everybody!

Geez game designers what were you thinking

Maybe I didn’t end up realizing all the cool shmup stuff in my original vision, but I think it’s gonna be a playable Human Tetris kinda thing. I had to scrap most of the intricate AI, and it’s a shame to leave my efforts on the cutting room floor, but I’ll touch more on that in the post-mortem/post-jam builds.

Hey, at least the dying animation kinda looks cool.

Why Ludum Dare is Awesome!

This is my 2nd LD Jam, but I love them already!  I love doing what is fun to me, with a bit of a chellenge with the theme.  The best part of all though, is the community! I got so much constructive feedback on my game! That is why I’m ready for LD 36 already!

Finally the music theme and sfx are completed!!!

Hey.

The music theme and sfx are completed for now.

It all started when a random guy from the web invited me to participate in my first #LDJAM. So I had to create some music and SFX. We’ve got 3 players in our team of complete strangers: me (Andrian) as a sound guy, Guglielmo as an illustraitor and Hady for coding.

Guys are still fighting bugs so I feel free to make this post. I will post the music itself later tomorrow with all of the links.

Unity users, remember to include your data folder

After 48 hours of intense work, I generated the PC version of my horror game The Furniture is Alive in Unity. I double clicked on the generated .exe file, played through the game once to see that it was working fine, then uploaded the exe to a server and posted the link on Ludum Dare and went to sleep.

What did I do wrong? Well, turns out that the .exe file actually isn’t self-contained! When I opened it up on my PC to test, there was actually another data folder that it was accessing, but which I wasn’t aware of. When I distributed only the exe file, it would not work for anyone else because of the missing folder.

Don’t forget to include your data folder when uploading your Unity game!

I have updated my submission so that the data folder is now included. Hopefully it now works, please give it another try!

There. It’s done. I finished the game. The first time that I ran out of time for the Compo version and had to go Jam. Still, I regret nothing! I am very happy with the end product, even if I did want to do so much more.

So much more.

But isn’t that the nature of Ludum Dare? Making decisions under time pressure and deciding what’s worth it and what’s not? In the end, I got a game that can be played meaningfully from start to finish. I’ll polish it later, perhaps. For now, I am enjoying the fuzzy warm feeling that I completed a game and learned a lot about Twine in general and CSS in specific. I’ll do a post-mortem later but for now I’ll crack open a beer and enjoy myself.

I’d love it if you reviewed my game!
