72 Hours

At first, 72 hours can seem like an eternity when you’re feverishly chugging away at assets whilst hopped up on adrenaline. Unfortunately, that all seemed to fade – and hours melted together quicker than any of realized.

Our game (Nebulous) is a 2D puzzle/platformer where the player assumes the role of a scientist whose been exposed to an alien mutagen that grants him shapeshifty powers. These powers allow him to navigate the otherwise impassable remnants of his research station after the catastrophe. While making his way toward the synthesized cure for his (apparently known) condition, he has the option of either saving or eating the other, stranded scientists!

While the art side of things have all come through just fine, attempting our idea for 2D gameplay in UE4 is proving to be an enormous curveball. There’s very little documentation, and some research beforehand could have helped, here. While I’m afraid we likely won’t make the deadline, it was a very exciting weekend, and the first LD for the members. We’ve got plenty of material and features to take what was initially this offhand concept and turn it into something much greater down the road! :) We’ll be sure to record more of the development process next time, too! We’re woefully lacking in WIP screenshots and the like.

First Ludum Dare completed!

Yes, my first ever Ludum Dare. After 72 exhausting hours, we finally got to complete the game. Its a physics puzzler game where you take control of barrels to hit the mafias.

Here is my entry: http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-35/?action=preview&uid=88044

Any review will be appreciated :)

We have made it in time!

Here in Spain is late (2am), but we made it!

You can play it here. The game visuals are better in the downloable version.

The theme was a let down for us, but I think that our team has do the best to make a little full game to this LD. I’m sure that it will have some bugs, and some of the puzzle elements aren’t easy for the player, but I hope that you have some fun playing it.

Good work to all the developers and artists! Until the next event, happy gamming!

Hack_Switch

Hack_Switch is a 2.5 D side scrolling puzzle platformer. You are a hacker and must hack The System, from the hardware to the software. The core mechanic is shifting the world 180 degrees and thus switching worlds that contain different environments. Expect a lot of neon and good beats.

Just finished our local gamejam as a team of 5 3D artists and limited programming know-how, will continue to upgrade the game further and hopefully release it as a full game eventually.

Good luck to all you jammers!

Imperfection!

I had a delightful time making this game with Will White and Tony Manfredoria. This game was inspired by a childhood of anxiety from playing Perfection. I hope you enjoy it!

Limber is Done!

I’ll keep it short since we still don’t have all our thoughts together. We managed to get a game done, and it ended up… pretty alright!

Congrats to everyone out there who managed to make a game. This LD was particularly tough for us, again, still not sure why.

Anyway, check out our game, Limber, and dance your lovely hearts away.

Unity WebGL has this weird bug where sprites get turned black.

Web GL Bug.

Anyone else having this bug, or know how to fix it?

Submitted to the Jam with three whole minutes to spare!

Despite not being super happy with the game I ended up creating, I DO feel absolutely amazing for actually finishing it and getting it submitted! Also I think after all this time I’m now comfortable with Phaser.

Originally there was going to be a fishing mechanic…
Anyway, this was a chill jam for our team. We succeeded in being chill and having a chill time.

A game mechanic, but not much else

I had high hopes for this Ludum Dare, but, as with many in the past, I failed to produce anything completed. I think I’m going to start participating in the excellent One Game a Month challenge again to prepare for next time :)

What I did produce was a stealth-em-up concept, based on possessing the bodies of your enemies to reduce suspicion.

It’s been fun, I’ll probably post the latest build just as a proof of concept, but there’s no gameplay to it yet.
