Work work work! Paint paint paint!

The engine game  is almost finished. Use unity. Very slowly dealing with graphics and music. We try to focus on the style. I think it will be great game.

We are in!

Hi!

We are a team of two, we tried to find a way to stick to this very uninspiring theme (for us), hopefully our interpretation is not too far-fetched…

The game will be built using Animate CC and FlashDevelop.

We will try to post updates :)

Sample Level

So I made a sample level for my game, not the best so far, but its a start.

See? Not much yet. I’ll be making some enemies and shapeshifting in time.

End of day one progress

The idea of this game is you turn into whatever you kill, the catch is that you can also turn back into weaker enemies if you accidentally kill them.

When I wake up tomorrow I will start working on the enemy AI and then maybe some better graphics :p

I’m not in this time..

But I have an idea for next Ludum Dare or project: mix between 4x game and card game!

My idea is to remove micro management and let player use cards to explore a sector, colonize a system, steal tecnology and so on.

If you like this idea, I’d like to have some feedback on it: http://goo.gl/forms/kM6mtAjgOc  just 5 minutes (really!)

Hello everyone! I’m closing this survey and I’m going to email to every participant survey result and after two weeks I will publish results for everyone.

Thanks, It’s amazing your support!

I’m in… but late :(

I’m late for my SEVENTH ludum dare compo… this month marks two whole years since I began.

I’m late since I have final exams coming up and I should be revising… I would’ve skipped this LD if I could live with not having continuous entries, even if this one is bad.

This one will have to be small, so I’ll probably go for a puzzle game with a small mechanic that has easy-to-make levels so I can balance focus on LD and revision.

The problem? I have no idea what to do!

Good luck… :)

My progress so far….

I fixed some bugs in my game engine. Thus, I can finally work on the game!

Dare to be Retro – Palette Swapping, Scrolling Rooms, Battle Mode

3

The Gameboy-esk idea is working nicely! I’m love the retro feel!
It now has the ability to swap to 4 different colour palettes!!

  • White
  • Beige
  • Green
  • Blue

I may even add the colour RED soon!

The game not has the ability to swap to multiple maps/room, scroll and centre rooms appropriately and also change mode when you head into the grass tall weeds.

This is surely not a pokemon clone…

Got the main mechanics working.

The player can now change from shape to shape, lowering the vertex count. Screenshots:

*lucky you

The decline in tomato prices

I started out by estimating the task I would have to do to get to some sort of minimal viable something. The task (having a playable character) was estimated to 2 pomodoros, but has so taken 7. This is going to be tight if my remaining estimates are relatively correct (it. they are correct relative to each other, but not in absolute time).

Going into this Ludum Dare with mostly unfamiliar js-libs and build tools has so far proven not to be the brightest of ideas. 😉

Okay, I’m joining in anyway :)

First off I wasn’t sure if I would compete. I only have saturday till 8pm and sunday it’s my sisters birthday so I’ll have to see how much time I can put it.
I decided to do it anyway :) and whatever I can come up with in that time is it. I hope it turns out fun anyway. I have read a lot of motivational texts on here so thanks for that!

My idea is to make a game where enemies try to catch you while you are not looking at them. Like the ghosts in mario. But in 3d and once you look at the enemy’s they turn into something simulair to the environment the game is in.
You have to identify all the enemies before one can touch you.

Good luck to everyone!

Got some mechanics implemented!

I’ve got a few mechanics implemented! Taking a quick break then gonna work on my game more (off-stream) and then I’ll start streaming again!

We have some progress

We got in late (5 Hours ago), We already have this map and we are thinking about the story :)

Finished Playing Audio and Looping Audio System

I can now load audio and play it nicely, I can also loop it.

My “HTML5 game engine” now loads resources, intialize, updates, draws animated sprites and plays audio. It’s complete (I should have made it before LD coz I wasted 4 and half hours making it but it’s worth it). Now I’ll take a break and then start making the actual game!

Work in progress

Started working on the game. Here is current concept arts:

Oh well, brain storm and paper prototypes in the meantime!
