It seems that I need to be faster.
Finish animations and half of scenes.

Second day of ludum dare coming up for us, looking back at yesterday I think we made a lot of progress. Writing a post now because my brain has not completely woken up yet so programming is hard. Have a screenshot!

Game is currently playable but does not have a score system yet or any interesting obstacles, it does have some very nice sound assets though but those are hard to hear in a .png.
To-Do-List:
I think I’ll make a game about henshin. You know, that transformation on tokusatsu movies… For the gameplay I chosed rhythm game. So you have to pose in correct timing to have perfect transformation. Hahaha.
After several hours I managed to create the prototype, aaand the gameplay pretty much like this one.

Oh my, I have slow progress. It’s weekend, and I have so many chores to do D:
Good day 2, everybody!
I polished the first level a bit, and added health and mana counters. Mana is used to shift planes.
My current design philosophy is to:
Today I plan to work on graphics and add at least one more level. Maybe I’ll even submit my game, but I think I’ll have to go for the jam.
I feel discouraged.
Overslept a touch … but still managed to get some good work done this morning. I’ve added sound effects, so the game is a bit more lively. They’re all edited metal samples – something a little bit different. Take a peek!
I’m heading off to work now, but I’ll be back this evening to add music, and hopefully juice it up a little!
Stay cool fellow cucumbers!

Finally decided that I’m going to try to make a small game anyway.
I probably have about 6 more hours before I call it quits, so keep your fingers crossed
I’ve got this feeling that I won’t exactly tell the world about this project, but I’ve decided to make sort-of-a space invaders clone with shapeshifting ships underwater.
So a after 2 hours of works this is what I’ve got:

I’m getting nowhere with my current idea and I had a new idea, and I guess I’ll implement that. It’s not particularly original but I’m sure you guys will love it
That was nice to sleep. Now to finish mechanics. I hope to have last 10 hours on level design/Graphics/Music.
Here is our music for the game Frozen Water Maze

Thats all the gameplay I’m gonna be able to do for the compo to get it done in time.
Now for colouring, and more sound effects.
Oh… and upload… yes…
You can try it, if you want: download

Tried to add pathfinding to what I posted earlier and it introduced a host of bugs. I think mmf2 is mad at me. Still, ended up fixing it. Just took some time.
Pathfinding, yay! I used Dijkstra Maps to do it. Oh, and can now right-click to spook the little guy into running away from where you clicked. Additionally, you can press space to cause a mini-earthquake. He doesn’t seem to enjoy that.
Finally programming this ” ready ” ! \o/
And i have a player now too!
(I will implement, and very soon put here)

Noobie question. How do you submit your game once its done. I understand that you put it on itch.io. But do you have to create a post on the LD website or something???
Forgot to post yesterday, but once again my brother and I will be taking part.
We have an idea and some progress, so fingers crossed things keep going well!
Only 15 hours left and I have lots of things to do. Currently I’m working on some collisional stuff. My idea of making a labyrinth you only can pass using different shapes is working out so far.
If you like, you can watch me coding at Twitch Phila177.
