LD36 August 26–29, 2016

I’m in

I attempted LD35 but never posted anything about it (or had anything I could post). So this is my first real LD.

Tools:

LÖVE framework (and love.js for web deployment)

Vim for text editing

Krita for art

Logic Pro and various synths/sample libraries for music (only if I have time)

been a long time

Haha why am I even here?  My first compo was in 2007 and my last was in 2011.  I’ve never made anything worth a damn.  I am going to see what my new development skills can do.

Unity 5 + various 2D extensions
Spine2D
Visual Studio 2015
Photoshop

My Amazballs rig (i7, 970, 32g ram, 512gig 950 Pro m.2) feeding a LG 34UC98-W Monitor

1.75L bottle of Jack Daniels

So lets see what happens.

Of Course I’m In

The last few jams I’ve been in, I’ve been short on time, and some of them I couldn’t even start a game. But this weekend – this weekend a game will be made! This will be the best jam ever, or at least I’ll be trying hard to make it so. Happy to see this Ludum Dare happening even without ideal conditions; my thanks and respect go out to Sorceress, Tijn, Wan, Rnlf, Frozen Fractal, Liamlime, McFunkypants, and everyone else who contributed to this LD and all past ones.

Likely using Unity, Paint.NET, and probably some other handy tools. (All will be listed in my entry, of course.)

Also: that keynote. My respect for McFunkypants continues to grow by leaps and bounds.

In.

First game jam for me. I’m going for the compo.

Software I plan to use is UE4, Blender, Bfxr, and maybe Paint.net, MagicaVoxel and Inkscape.

Who dares, wins!

I’m in

Made a last second decision to enter, but I’m in for my 2nd Ludum Dare! This time I’ll be using Love2D w/aseprite and most likely chiptone or bfxr.

SquirrelSoftEntertainement is in !!

Hi everyone, we are a team of three :

  • kack3y (Über-dev),
  • Angry_cyboot (Super-awesome graphic artist),
  • Synack (under-dev).

And we are in for the Jam !!

It’s our first LD except for our “graphic artist” who has participate to the LD35 and made a quite bad game :p

By the way he has made a wallpaper for us because he was bored… it’s very ugly but we want to support him so… here it is :

a fucking awesome wallpaper

We will be using : Unity/Gimp and we will see later for the other needs…

Hope everyone will enjoy this LD even without PoV 😉

We’re in, with JGame or CellSpace

Love Apple Games gamedev team is in for the jam! Our team consists of Boris van Schooten (tmtg.net) and Val Jones (val_hax).

For software development we are going to use jgame.js and possibly the new game development toolkit CellSpace (beta).

Graphics: Tiny Sprite Editor, Gimp, Inkscape, Evolvotron.

Sound: SFXR, Audacity, LMMS, a microphone, and possibly a keyboard.

More info about the dev tools:

Jgame.js is a 2D game library based on WebGL, which we’ve been using for our previous games.

CellSpace is built on top of it, and enables tile-based game development by defining tile rewrite patterns (cellular automata style).  It comes with an IDE and a sprite editor.  It has similarities with PuzzleScript, but allows action games with smooth animation to be developed as well! See the screenshot below.

In For the First Time, Again

This time it’s for real, I’m Random.Range( 0.0f, 1.0f ) sure. Unity, C#, Adobe CS, Blender and whatever else I can find useful that I bought in my Asset Store candy bag (Probably including: UniRx, Event System Dispatcher, UI Builder, Universal SFX, Master Audio, DevConsole, ProCore, ShaderForge, Easy Save)

Want in, could be out

The image above mostly describe the doom scenario I’m in right now…

I really, really wanted in, but I’m not sure how much time work is going to take from me.
For everyone joining, have fun and good luck.

I might see you during my “should-be-sleep” times, but we’ll see.

Preparing for Livestreaming!

Hey guys! So i will be livestreaming in around 30 minutes

(I hope i dont finish my drinks, im kinda low already)

Bro-Magnon

We’re hard at work on a prehistoric couch minigame suite (think Warioware or Mario Party). I’m hard at work cooking up gameplay, while Aidan has been cranking out rad 3D assets. Have a peek at neat-o this bro-mag out for a stroll.

Pop in and say hello to us on our stream!

I’m Virtually In!

And you know, physically as well. But I’ve decided that this go round, I’m gonna go for an HTC Vive VR experience, regardless of the theme.

I haven’t done any VR programming yet.

Wish me luck! 😀

Base code

I forgot to include a link: https://github.com/Kharzette/LudumDareStuff

There’s a handy tool in there to assemble chronolapse images into a video as well as some other misc stuff I might use. All C#.

Obligatory I’m In!

This will be my 4th ludum dare and hopefully my second fully completed project. I will be using mostly the same tools as I did last year, these will be:

Engine: Unity 5.4

Language: C#

Editor: Microsoft Visual Studio 2015

Art: Paint.net, Aseprite

Music: Beepbox

Sound: Bfxr, Audacity

Browser: Chrome

I think that’s it, I am going to make sure to plan out my game better this time and have a more realistic goal than in the past. I wish I could use Java for this but I’m not skilled enough in any graphical libraries yet and I am definitely not doing graphics in swing or something. Anyways, good luck and have fun!

Onwards Genuine earthmen! To Jam and beyond.

Let’s do this! \o/ All right… I’m going to bed.

I’m in

Can’t wait. First time doing this.

I’m in

Mandatory “I’m in”-post.” Last time I had to give up because I hated the theme, but this time I have a much better feeling already. Here’s my tool-belt:

Engine: Yes

Language: Whatever understands me

Art: Please!

Music: Good idea!

Sound: Why not?

Fuel: I’ll have a grande latte, please. No sugar, thanks.

I’m in!

Assuming the theme isn’t absolute shit (and not just regular shit) I’m in for my fifth Ludum Dare,

I will probably be using the same tools as last time:

  • Löve2D
  • Photoshop
  • PyxelEdit
  • Probably bfxr or something similar for sound

I’ll be posting my progress @Kryptarchy.

Best of luck to all!

So here we are again :-)

I’ve been on a long hiatus, but I’m definitely not sitting out LD36! :-)

My original intent was to enter with a custom game engine based on NET Core and OpenGL, but didn’t manage to get things into an usable state in time.

So plan B it is! I’ve always been a big fan of LÖVE. I’ve gathered a bundle of community libraries (including anim8, simple-tiled-implementation, hump, bump and lovebirds ❤︎) that I intend to use.

I’ve put this bundle in a Github repository: https://github.com/cryovat/ld-template-love2d

My toolbox will look like this:

Best of luck to all of you!

Looks like I’m in

I’ll be learning how to use Godot over the course of this LD!

I haven’t made a game in a long time – I’d say I’ve never really made a game. Hopefully I can at least make something!

Using Godot, with Photoshop for graphics, Musagi for music, sfxr/bfxr for other sounds and Audacity for other sound-related stuff.

Good luck, make some cool stuff!
