The basics are there, a bit slower than I’d hoped but hopefully I’ll be able to pick up the pace and finnish on time.
So after joining a group for the jam, I didn’t like the way they planned to do their game. So I’m going solo instead, in the jam, to make up for the lost time (I’m starting now) and to create something more impressive with the added time.
Also I’ll basically be using the Compo rules: start from scratch etc.
Just a little progress update on the game
I finished all the hazard things in the game.
I got my world generation code working, giving results such as this:

It is generated using a diamond-square algorithm. It doesn’t look like much right now, but I think I can turn this into something. I just hope I have enough time. Even if I’m not able to make a working game in time that’s ok, because I just ordered a pizza, so that’s a win!
How do you upload screenshots in these posts?
The help tells me to click the ‘Add Media’ button, but where is it?

The game is now available. We didn’t really have time for this ludum dare so we made something really really REALLY simple. If you want to go and try it out and leave a comment or two it would be great.
So here is the story.
A VERY LONG FREAKING TIME AGO. MEN USED SUN RAYS TO BURN THE SAILS OF SHIPS ON THEIR SHORES NEARBY THEIR ISLANDS, (ACCORDING TO A VERY UNSOURCEFULL SOOURSE). THEY WOULD USE A TYPE OF MIRROR TO CREATE A TYPE OF LAZER TO BURN THE SAILS.
Now that I’m actually making my game, I have decided on the tools and libraries I will be using for my entry
Engine: Unity
Libs: Probuilder Basic (Free), ProGrids (To retain sanity)
SFX: Bfxr probably
Not sure what I’m going to use for music, but it will probably be FL Studio
A lot of peoples submissions look awesome so far! I wish everyone luck with finishing their projects!
I am creating my game from scratch using the Go programming language and have finally laid the groundwork for getting the first texture on the screen.

Caveman Rocks!
The code is here: github.com/gonutz/ld36
If you have Go and MinGW installed, you can build it yourself with a simple double-click on the build.bat.
My game concept is coming along nicely, here is a ascii set of characters (7×11) from 32 to 126 for anyone who needs dynamic text in their game. Feel free to use, modify, anything you want.
I’m trying to go for a kind of 3rd person cryptic puzzle game, seeing as how it’s my favorite genre and I’ve never done one before.
I’ve decided to revolve my idea around stonehenge and just see where it goes.
I’m not much of an artist but it’ll work for now.
I’ve got the player movement and one of the major puzzle mechanics ready to go.
Gonna be spending the next few hours designing one or two of the puzzles.
~Happy Jamming
I’m going to attempt a side-scrolling, puzzle-platformer / adventure-RPG!
o.O
Framework: Pixi.js
Editor: Notepad++
Graphics: GIMP
Audio(if I get there): SFXR, BFXR & Audiology

An ancient structure with some interesting abilities.
Late post but nonetheless excited to participate!
I’ll be using Unity, Blender, Photoshop and Audacity.
As a core idea of ancient technology is to show operations of entities building sustainable societies by working as a strong community.
Wish you the best of luck, can’t wait to see your games!
Figured I’ll put together something simple and focus on trying to deliver a more whole experience. I will suppress the megalomaniac lurking in my mind and not fall for the the grandiose pipedreams I usually come up with and fall terribly short of finishing within the time available.
Unity, Aseprite, Bfxr, Bosca Ceoil and all that jazz.

Despite travelling, I’ve done quite a bunch for the game already. Most of the character animations are done, and the logic for the choice cards are working as well. Everyone going smoothly so far (smoother than this bus trip, at least).
Now, I’m off to dinner. When I get back, I’ll work on getting my Events system working.
Up all night & pumped to be working on a jam submission with my partner Martian Games & our buddy IKU Games. We planned ahead for this one & so far so good! Tried live-streaming a bit last night, with another stream planned for late tonight.
Hope everyone else is having as much fun as we are!

As promised: Squares and circles, and as a bonus it’s in the desert. I think I just got the hang of it now. I started out with some input problems (google wasn’t very helpful), and then I had some problems with my timber disappearing when I added the textures. To summarize: The game will probably be really dull, but the coffee tastes great

(…this is supposed to be a GIF, but it doesn’t seem to be working :/)
