I suck at animation…
this looks good so far though

This LD clearly didn’t started well for me. Evening before the LD I’ve been to pub with my neighbours who were moving away and since one of them is a soldier, we’ve got drunk… badly. Basically I’ve spend first 13 hours of the jam trying to beat quite a hangover.
But now I am fine and I’ve managed to get the movement, scrolling and collision system working, so the whole thing might just end up just fine!

Keep being sober and jam on!
A little bit of a late start can’t stop me! I have finished all of the players sprites and I’m now moving on to the enemies and level design. I have 2 more days, so I’m not worried! Wish me luck!
Gonna finish at night.

Turn the lights on! Result of day 1.
We’re taking a break. There’s quite a lot to polish, but the basic idea is done. The fun part will come with puzzles, and other ancient stuff. See you all soon =)

Now I actually have to make it pretty…

A small screenshot (next time it will be fancy GIF) of our cryptex.

That would be fun! 😀
So much tinkering with babylon.js, I hope I finish this something. 😐

Hopefully we can make something awesome!

It’s going well. The code is clean and I am using classes. Phaser Sprite’s crop and cropUpdate methods do wonders.
I was thinking two types of puzzles, a ‘normal’ type and a slider puzzle for those pieces that are not puzzles.

Very quick entry this time. I only had a few hours to work due having a busy weekend, still you can’t skip Ludum Dare, can’t you? 😛
I havent done anything in the meanwhile… but I am going to call it a day…seriously… no preparation going into this… its my first ld… my tries of creating something like a game do not even go into the tens, what did I expect… gotta squeeze a game loop in somewhere. But tomorrow… signing off… but definetely continueing on my quest and I am sure as hell developing this game further in the future… and learning different ways to make games too…
It’s not really anything resembling a full game yet, but there are things that move and you can shoot them:

Press ‘R’ to respawn more thingies.
The August LD is always right around my birthday, no it’s never a great time for me to work on a game! Regardless, I’ve been trying my best to prepare in advance, but there’s only so much one can do before knowing a theme!
Soooo, I’ve been finding myself a bit stuck trying to square my original idea with the Ancient Technology theme. I want to make a game where you drive around various vehicles (such as ambulance, pizza deliver car, fire truck) in a mad panic. I know I could make the game kind of Flintstones-style—a tongue-in-cheek interpretation of the ancient world, but I doubt I have the capacity to execute such an art style; and it probably wouldn’t have the feeling I want anyway.
Anyway, here’s a first screenshot. All assets are currently from the Unity Store. We’ll see if I have time to make something more original!

I added a second level, bullets, and a feather that can boost your speed!
I had some audio glitches though.
I’ve only worked on it for 6 hours. XD
Some progress.. Few hours behind of my first LD ever! Wish me luck. Also, I need some “customer names”! Comment down below and I can include your name succestion!

Added in a targeting system!
Not sure if I will do animations for strafing or not.. It doesn’t look that bad now and time constraints being what they are…
Will work on a health bar above current target though!
