Why Does Hardly anyone use Game Jolt?

I noticed I’m one of the few that use game jolt to display there game.  Is there a reason why? Should I have used another medium?

I don’t know. People used to use it a lot. I switched from it to itch.io mostly because itch.io lets you sell stuff and there are not really any downsides to it.

I personally use dropbox, but doesn’t game jolt have ads?

Breathing

Humans! Breathing – is your ancient technology of living. It destroys a sacred substance known as oxygen. Intergalactic Union demands to move a production of your life to the new modern technologies. All life forms on Earth must meet the technical requirements and standards of the Intergalactic Union. It means: no more breathing!

Hey, are you still breathing here? You are under arrest!

Breathing. A point and click adventure by Pavel Gudanets

Rushing to the end. . .

I would like to share with you guys the credits video. . . We’re working hard to finish the project but we lost almost 10 hours wasted because a bad choice of the game engine. . . we’re looking forward!

My first LD entry

Finally submitted my first entry! As I didn’t have much time and since I’m pretty new to Unity, I needed to scope my idea down to the simplest level and this is what I made. Although it’s not much, at least I was able to finish something!

Starship Janitor – A Rant… erm Post-Mortem.

With Ludum Dare over and many games to play will you, perhaps, give mine a chance? Play Starship Janitor here, if you are kind and leave a comment I shall return this most kind of favours.

But for those who would like a little more and can deal with a little ranting, here is my post-mortem for the title: https://dsdevsite.wordpress.com/2016/04/22/ludum-dare-35-post-mortem/

Thank you for your time

h3ss (first post)

It seems that there is an obligatory ‘first post’, so I might as well use the opportunity to encourage you all to checkout h3ss. It is a puzzle game set in 3-dimensional hyperbolic space. You push coloured blocks (icosahedra: 20-faced polyhedra) around this exponentially expanding space and try make all the blocks disappear by pressing <space> to update the state using rules similar to Conway’s game of life. An empty cell (the icosahedra tile the space similar to a cubic grid in Euclidean space) will become a coloured block if it has exactly three coloured blocks as neighbours. And a coloured block neighbouring three or more coloured blocks will disappear.

h3ss

Currently there is only three levels, but it is enough to at least start exploring the interesting properties of this non-Euclidean space.

Syper Mairo Brutal

Hi! Here is a game I made with my friend for MiniLD #67:

Syper Mairo Brutal for MiniLD #67

We made it in two days and it was mine and his first entry. If we have started earlier we would be able to implement a lot more features that we planned and were interested in, but we couldn’t in such a short amount of time. We had a lot of fun with this project though and personally I can’t wait for the next Ludum Dare, which will be my first!

Please check out the game here and let us know what you think:

Devlog

Hello everyone!

We are Timoneros Holandeses, and this is the devlog for our game 😀

The day the jam started, we got together and started talking about how we were going to make our game. Since this Ludum’s theme was “Ancient Technology”, we decided to give it a twist, and decided that our game was going to be about a cybernetic (Technology) old man (Ancient) killing old zombies in a retirement home.

Having decided that, it was the time to give it a name. Each one of us wrote up a word, we picked them randomly and added “Grandpa” at the end. The result? Cybodestructor bizarre galactic laser grandpa.

After deciding our majestuous name, we started working on the game, working on both programming and art: Arturo and Luis would focus on programming, while Oscar and Daniel would focus on art. At this point, we have almost finished the game, and the only thing left to do is to build the levels 😛

While we finish the levels, here is a screenshot of the game’s menu: Screenie

Military Game Idea: “The Devil’s Day”

If we hit a military theme anywhere in the future, or some kinda Doomsday theme, here’s an idea for a great game:

A Reptilian shapeshifter has found its way to political power and is now in control of the world’s Government. With that much power, the Reptoid has commanded his newfound army to build the world’s largest nuclear missile, which is now targeted at the US. Two days later it is fired at the center of the US…

With only six days to destroy the nuke before it lands, the NSA has handed control of the military over to you, as the Commanding Chief Officer of the US Military. You may choose any branch you like from a choice of: The NSA, The CIA, The US Army, The US Navy, the Marine Corps, or the Air Force. However, they’re not just going to give it to you right away; you must earn their trust and convince them you’re on their side. But that’s not the least of your worries.

Troops from other countries haven’t decided how they feel about you yet, and some have already decided that they just don’t like you. Those that don’t know you, you must also earn their trust to gain their assistance. Those that already don’t? They’ll get in the way, and now you must not only wear the nuke down to nothing but also defend your own base of operations from opposition.

Truly, this is….The Devil’s Day…
